No critic, but only a sidenote: Yesterday I tested beta1,beta2,beta3,beta4 on my F18A (was a beta tester for Matthew). I think I still have F18A V1.3 software or even older. It didn't look to well. Scrolling was not smooth (totally different than in the youtube clip). The Player Ship was incomplete (only the fuel appeared). Colors appeared like they were off. I will update the F18A to the latest firmware V1.5 and will retry it. If that doesn't help, the problem might be somewhere else. Sorry that my testing is limited. The place I tested it didn't have a screwdriver, F18A programmer cable nor another console. Maybe beta5 will work better but I doubt your code is the problem. Will demonstrate Titanium, Mr. Chin on the real console tonight, and TI Scramble on the emulator.

Hi OX. Just wanted to inform you that I demonstrated the Gamebase v2.0 TI99 Database at the European TI Treffen 2013 that was held last weekend in Eindhoven. There was real interest in the people attending the demo and getting it configured afterwards on their laptops. People were amazed on the number of games for their favorite system. Since there is a lot of emulation enhancements going on by mizapf into MESS, I also vote for switching cartridge support to RPK, even if that does mean duplicating the cartridge images for the time being. kl99

Having seen the demo of your game at the European TI Meeting 2013 last weekend I want to thank you for this wonderful game. I will definately show this off at the local TI 99 meeting in Vienna tomorrow and at upcoming Events. kl99

congrats on the release Tursi. I think the nested user menus were my request, so thanks a lot for implementation.

The man behind Apesoft Dr. Johann Peschetz actually attended the TI-99 Austria Club Meeting in May 2013. He was very kind and full of stories. He still has his whole equipment, even the TI Professional computer, that flopped afterwards. So maybe we will see some Apesoft unreleased/prototype Software. That would be nice.

I vote for taking a rasperry pi like device and connect it to the 44pin I/O port of a real TI-99 console. The device should then emulate in software everything what the PEB is meant to do: memory expansion disk controller rs232 card The good thing is, you still use TI-99 hardware and are communicating via a real interface to a real console. As soon as this interface is working, we can think of extensions like: debug functionality (connect rasberry pi to a screen and see exactly what is happening in memory, edit memory,..) ram disk gram device hd controller p-code card ... For an initial start , I would try to setup the interface and try to get a 32k memory expansion emulated working with a real TI. We all have plenty of consoles, but PEB hardware like ams 1mb, gram devices, ram disks, hd controllers, michael becker cards are really really hard to get. Besides the fact, that 5.25" disks and drives are beginning to lose integrity. Even harddrives are doing the same. And with this you get a really good system "portable".

there has been an update to TI99Dir lately, so be sure to get the latest version from the Fred Kaal Website.

I found out that The Cyc DVD (cadd99.com) features some stuff from Tronics: gettech.wav: DP08825B Side B Audio recording lisfirst.wav: DP08826 Side 1 Audio recording tapes.pdf: overview with pictures of both sides of the 6 tapes CaDD got from Charles Good trontape.dsk: self-made disk with the programs from the tapes catalog.pdf: one of their catalogs handbook.pdf: Tronics Sales Corporation Distributor Handbook 4/83 Tapes DP08821: Side 1 Program The Tronics Sales Program Side 2 Blank DP08822: Side 1 Program Sights and Sounds Side 2 Blank DP08823A: Side 1 Program Demonstration, TI Basic DP08823B: Side 2 Program Demonstration, TI Extended Basic DP08824A: Side 1 Program Outer Spelling, no speech DP08824B: Side 2 Program Outer Spelling, with speech DP08825A: Side 1 Program Let's get technical DP08825B: Side 2 Audio Let's get technical DP08826: Side 1 Audio Listen to this first, by Hank Mishkoff Side 2 Blank Selfmade Disk Image contains: 001 >006 DEMONSTR_B 43 PROGRAM >0db 042 002 >007 DEMONSTR_X 51 PROGRAM >105 050 003 >005 GETTECH_B 54 PROGRAM >0a6 053 004 >003 OUTSPELS_B 44 PROGRAM >04a 043 005 >002 OUTSPEL_B 43 PROGRAM >020 042 006 >004 SALES_B 50 PROGRAM >075 049 007 >008 SIGHTSND_B 47 PROGRAM >137 046 Maybe you can arrange somthing with CaDD by exchanging files they have with the files you have to get it more complete in the End. And make an agreement that you and them can both release the collection. With regards, Klaus

TI99's VHS --> Mpeg2 conversion .... need Help...
kl99 replied to ti99iuc's topic in TI-99/4A Development
Ciro, you have to set the capture card video settings the same as the output of the VCR does. VCR typically outputs pure NTSC (3.58Mhz or 4.43Mhz) or it transform the NTSC signal into PAL (3.58Mhz or 4.43 Mhz) for better compatibiltiy. Even if the tape is NTSC that doesn't mean that the VCR outputs pure NTSC. In the VCR manual you will find information how the VCR outputs NTSC tapes. Do you capture via Cinch (Yellow/Red/White) or Antenna (don't do that)? Usually in the settings you have stuff like: PAL-G/PAL-B, PAL-60, NTSC 4.43 Mhz, NTSC 3.58 Mhz, 720x480 (NTSC Output) or 720x576 (PAL Output), 25 fps or 30fps (->50/60 interlaced). -
CV stands for Colecovision or Creativison?

TI99's VHS --> Mpeg2 conversion .... need Help...
kl99 replied to ti99iuc's topic in TI-99/4A Development
Hi Ciro! The better PAL vcr machines are able to view NTSC tapes and output it as NTSC or PAL60 which you can capture then. Klaus -
Anyone that comes to the european TI Treffen of this year and wants to update, I can bring my laptop with xilinx software and the JTAG programmer cable. All you need is your F18A chip and a powered ti99 mainboard. Just remind me on the cable before the Meeting, best via private message or mail.

Btw: The mimimised funnelweb version -included in your XB compiler for compiling the assembler source file - doesn't work with CF7+/NanoPEB devices. Funnelweb as such doesn't like the CF7+/NanoPEB. There exists a modified Funnelweb version that is compatible, but I don't have it. Maybe you can point that iisue in the docu and/or the menu screen. Since a lot of people that work on real hardware are using the CF7+/NanoPEB, this should get pointed out. I don't understand why you would need each routine as a dedicated file on the disk if you want to go for an approach, where you only load those routines into RAM which are used by the program?

and are you planning to integrate these commands into your xb-compiler?

Anybody else a 'Collector' of the TI-99 4/A?
kl99 replied to schuwalker's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
If you have non-working TI 99 joysticks you might try this repair guide: http://www.8bit-homecomputermuseum.at/repair/ti99_joystick/ti99_joystick_repair.html -
At 4PM [11PM my time] it was only Astharot and me. I did go offline shortly after since I have Astharot in Skype anyway. I was tired as hell.

wow! cool release. congrats on this! will test it asap! do you plan to merge these set of commands into your XB Compiler? Klaus

Still didn't get it, if the program is written for TI Basic or TI Extended Basic? The problem is: A) saving the program on disk B) running the program if PEB attached Please specify
-
Okay, real console then: If it's a TI Basic (non XB) program only, try loading it with Mini Memory cartridge, with this you have 4K more RAM. or if we have to use XB: Does the program uses files, if not you can reduce the number of maximum files to 1: CALL FILES(1) [or CALL FILES(2) if you want to save it later] NEW OLD DSK1.YOURPGRM The more info you give us (program specs...) the better we can help you. To remove several lines at once you can use the DEL command from Super Extended Basic: Furthermore with SEB you got: COPY start line - end line, new start line, increment MOVE start line - end line, new start line, increment

If you are working on Classic 99. I would recommend getting the program listing into the clipboard via LIST "CLIP". Paste the clipboard data in any text editor on your pc. Change it to your needs, mark all and CTRL+C, now get back to Classic99 and select in a new (empty) XB instance the Classic99\Edit\Paste from XB. Mechatronic XBII has a dedicated command for this as well if I remember right.

Leszek - from our TI-99 Austrian Club - programmed a port of the famous Hunt the Wumpus for the ZX Spectrum. I have seen it in action and played myself, it really gives credit to the original styling and feeling of the game on our TI. It features all available modes (Easy, Hard, Blind, ...) He even created a marvelous cover for the tape and his manual reuses the original styling of the ti manual versions. With this styling it looks like a TI product actually I should have taken some pictures of the tape, damn! You can download the game here: http://members.inode.at/838331/index.html You can order the tape as well, but it's not working on a TI Klaus

We could think of a weekly TI chat meeting here? I would be interested to discuss things TI related in a chat form. How about Tuesday 4 PM [Chicago Time]. It would be 10PM for Great Britain and 11PM for Middle Europe. Klaus

I think there was an undocumented exit opportunity by typing "E" (or was it "X")? Edit: It's SHIFT+E! (Micropendium 1985 March, User Notes)
