  1. I only have two, and they both get used... But I prefer to my sears heavy sixer for whatever reason. I guess I just like it because it's rarer than most. Oh, and because it was actually made in the USA (IIRC)
  2. Replacing the caps in most things is super easy. I've never done a vectrex, but replacing them on an old pc motherboard was no trouble at all. Just practice soldering a little if you've never done it before and take your time.
  3. Snake, Rattle & Roll for the Nes used to creep me out like you wouldn't believe. Lol, looking back on it, I haven't got a clue why
  4. Thanks! Ever since I bought it at a flea market a few years ago, I've checked ebay whenever I thought about it, hoping to see one like it sell. But it just seems like there's never any for sale that I could really base the value on.
  5. Time to sell some stuff and raise money for a laptop... I'm going to list this on the classifieds, but I really have no idea how to price it. Any advise would be appreciated. The box is in pretty rough shape, but the system itself is about as nice as they come. The plastic cover has a few scratches on it, but aside from that, it's just about perfect. It works great too. It only has one controller.
  6. I'm asking $150 for this whole setup. If you need it shipped, let me know your zip code and I'll check the cost. I also have a cart of dig dug, and I gave it a try and it worked fine. I didn't get a chance to test it beyond that, but if there is any interest I'll be happy to spend more time on it. Box and manual only, no actual software.
  7. Is there a homebrew version coming out or something? Yep!!!! It will be out (hopefully) this july i think. here is a sneak peak. go to www.intellivision.us to get on the list. Nice! I've never been into homebrew very much, but that might just be the exception!
  8. Oh well, it's a great system, and I'll certainly be sad to see it go. Personally, it's one of my favorite systems of all time. I am looking forward to the 3ds, but it will be a while before I'm ready to plunk down that kind of cash on another game system.
  9. Is there a homebrew version coming out or something?
  10. Thanks! Thats a bit more than I was expecting. I'll find all the cables and paperwork and take some better pictures of it thn I'll list it in the classifieds. If it doesn't go on there, I guess I'll have to resort to ebay. I'll have a few more questions like this to ask. I also have a really nice astrocade I'm thinking about parting with, but I'll take some pictures and post it in the appropriate section when I get around to it.
  11. If you can get that "high" with emulation, than it doesn't really matter what anybody else thinks. But personally, I get much more enjoyment out of the "real thing". I like to be able to hold a cartridge or cd, and the system. I'm looking at my Sears Super Video Arcade right now, and there is a certain amount of pride of ownership and joy that comes with owning and using the real thing. I use emulation too on occasion, but if I find a game I really like, I'll generally buy it so I can play it properly.
  12. I'm trying to thin out my collection some, and I'm thinking about using the classifieds here instead of on ebay. The only trouble with that, is I have to figure out prices for everything. What would you say this setup should bring? I'll have to look and make sure I have all the cables, but I think I do. I plugged it in and played a round of Dig-Dug (cartridge) and it worked just fine.
  13. Why couldnt they at least add 1 dot for an eye? sabatoge!!!!!!!!1!!!1111!!!!! (beastie boys song here) Good question... I don't think there was that big of a difference in capabilities between the colecovision and the intellivision, but there is certainly no comparison in this case. I love the Intv, and Donkey kong, but even I can find no redeeming value in this game at all. Just crappy controls, and awful graphics...
  14. I sure wish I had some "before" pictures of some of my systems. I had an n64 that must have had a bottle of coke spilled in/on it. I dissembled it and scrubbed everything down. It came out looking just fine. My 2600 started out pretty bad too. I had to take it all apart and clean out all the pet hair and bug eggs. I scrubbed the plastic with soap and water and cleaned up the board with a soft brush. It ended up as a very nice sears heavy sixer!
  15. Lol Yup, thats pretty bad alright. I think they went one pixel too low with his stomach. It looks more like....errr... Ok I'll stop there
