Some things have changed with the 2019 version's database engine. My guess is the changes were meant to avoid the DNS server conflicts when installed on a domain controller, but it has not only become a major pain but they cannot get it working on our 2012R2 server.
The QuickBooks database engine has always been rinky-dink. We always had lots of corruption issues, and we had to kick everyone off and switch to single-user mode to do any kind of maintenance. It's a *little* better than Microsoft Access, but not by much.
