I find that i can control my anxiety and relax more when i intentionally ignore the score until the game is over. This is especially important for when I'm doing well--if i know i'm in striking range of a new high score, then I really tense up and push too hard, which inevitably leads to disappointing results.

Crazy is not the word for it. Most people would certainly prefer PR, as it's oddness can be learned and dealt with. Once you "get it" you can beat up on the computer. Realsports is odd precisely because it is nearly impossible to win, and the computer will pound you into the dirt with the slightest mistake. Still, it grows on you if you really spend time on it. Look at our High Score thread on it and you'll see how much we started to get into it. Yeah, we played RS Baseball in Season 3 Variety pack round 7. Alot of good dissusion about this game in that thread. Thanks, Atarifever and Roadrunner. I'll definitely check out that thread.

This game is more difficult for me because I suck at games that require you to jump and duck (especially platform jumping games; this holds true even for the ones that I like, such as Kangaroo and Frostbite). Perhaps this is due to the fact that i never played Nintendo, and consequently missed that critical period in my video game playing development

Another good one is the homebrew, Rastar Fahndung, which is a visual analysis type of puzzle game. You have to find a specific pattern that's set against a background of similar shapes within a given time limit. Well, it's better than my description, so give it a try!

I purchased it last year from Venezuela for about $100.00. I like your idea about repairing Compumates, but don't know if there would be any interest in it out there. A little while back I wrote a post asking if anyone had any experience repairing the Compumate, but nobody responded

I've played Pete Rose baseball on the 7800, but not Realsports Baseball. Which is the better game? (perhaps i should pose this question in a separate thread ). I agree --- Desert Falcon is a pretty great game!

You have to hit the Sphinx between the eyes. That's a pretty good score for not beating the Sphinx at least once. I was quite surprised at my score. When the game ended, i checked to see if i accidentally shifted over to novice setting, but it was still at standard. I think my high score was due, in part, to treasures i picked up and to all the beasties i shot down, especially at the sphinx. I don't think i got past the sphinx because i ended up a short distance before the sphinx again, so I assume it was because i lost a life. What happens when you get past the sphinx?
