  1. I've had Haunted Adventure Trilogy for awhile. Just started playing it. Having problems figuring it out, but I need to stop being lazy and look at that thick manual. It definitely requires a time commitment, and I wasn't shy about getting help from the manual despite its "spoiler alerts". Some of the mazes are tough to figure out, but knowing how well you did on Private Eye, I think you'll do well with this game once you really get into it. I'd be curious to know what you think of the game once you've played it awhile. I haven't come across any reviews of this game, either formal or informal.
  2. As a newbie to the HSC, I'd like to echo Scrabbler's sentiments and thank everybody in the club for their cordial hospitality. I especially would like to thank Ze_ro for the work he puts into this
  3. Yeah, Tapeworm is refreshingly different. I second the nomination. Another Spectravision game that is supposed to be good and that I'd like to check out is Cross Force.
  4. Thanks for the well wishes. That means a lot! Yes, I have a 7800 with the Longhorn Engineer video mod installed and a Harmony Cart. Everything else is going. Once I get this main collection out of here, I will be posting stuff here in the Marketplace...mostly loose systems and other odds and ends I have in storage. What's the Longhorn Engineer video mod? Never mind, I looked it up

  6. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Will you continue to play atari on emulator? Or keep a console and play via the harmony cartridge? I'm in a tough bind financially myself and think about these options frequently. Hope things turn out well for you
  7. Glad to see Zaxxon make somebody's list-- I like that one quite a bit. I bought Tapper last spring but haven't yet played it.
  8. Hi everyone My Compumate's touchpad keyboard fizzed out on me a couple months after I first used it. There was an early warning sign, as some of the keys became less sensitive to touch pressure over time and required repeated strokes of increasing intensity (this is starting to sound perverted! ). Then occured a short phase in which the keyboard would die out suddenly, at which point i would remove the cartridge and place it back in or mess with the cables and at some point for some reason the keyboard would start functioning again. Finally, the terminal phase when the keyboard would not respond at all, with the exception of two or three keys. Has anybody experienced a similar problem with the Compumate? If so, did you repair it and could you give me any info about such a repair (if even possible)? Thanks, good people of the atariage community
  9. Hi Amstari. Atarimania.com describes it as an extremely rare cassette program. They have a few pictures of the cassette and packaging, which mentions friendly animals in Animal World, so it sounds like a kids' drawing program. Very little info beyond that except that it was released only in PAL format.
  10. Final Approach Freeway Texas Chainsaw Massacre Omega Race, 'cuz i don't have a booster grip Donkey Kong
  11. How 'bout a Mystique-style Sex Farm game? With druids....
  12. My wife might play Ms. Pacman as well. Still, I'm going with Joust
  13. H.G. Lewis rules!!! I'd like to see a videogame based on the "games" from Two Thousand Maniacs, especially if the members of Journey play the roles of the victims
  14. I think Pitfall 1 is so so.. and thought that ever since I first played it once I got over the "wow" of the graphics. Pitfall 2 on the other hand is a pretty amazing 2600 experience, No.. a lot of us here feel exactly that, myself included. It's been argued here over and over again in the past. I really disliked the timed Activision games in particular (Freeway, etc.) but there are some gems I love like Enduro and Hero. But yeah Imagic is the one to beat imho. Haven't tried Pitfall 2, so I'll have to check it out on emulator sometime soon (unless anybody knows where i can get a copy on the cheap ) I like the Imagic stuff, too. They seemed very consistent with both graphics and gameplay.
  15. Awesome look to the castles and mazes! Didn't have time to play thru level 3 yet, but did check out the dragons' return to life---cool idea. The dragon images look a little disjointed to me, so I would suggest working on those a little more. Overall, a great job
  16. Am I the only one who thinks the entire Activision library is so-so (great graphics, but insipid, unimaginative gameplay)? Sorry, don't mean to be heretical, sacriligious, etc., but I get bored with all the Activision worship in the atari community. Anyways, here's my top ten list for the Activision fans to scoff at: 1 Adventure 2 Haunted Adventure Trilogy (a hack, but plays like an highly original homebrew) 3 Yar's Revenge 4 Gorf 5 Buck Rogers Planet of Zoom (fast and furious) 6 Stellar Track (zero graphics but fun strategy game) 7 Raster Fahndung (homebrewed visual analysis type game) 8 Gravitar (also makes my top 10 most difficult list!) 9 Off the Wall (my favorite variant of breakout) 10 Threshold (underrated shooter with goofy but lovable graphics Were I to expand the list to top 20 games, I admit I'd have to include a couple Activision games, probably Kaboom and Private Eye. Possibly Robot Tank.
  17. It seems to me that the video game critics only like about 3% of the atari games they review. You'd think that someone so involved in atari would enjoy it more
  18. That's a great idea, Toymailman. I would definitely buy a Compumate Gets a New Brain!
  19. Just when i think you can't go any further with these scores, you go ahead and do it. Congratulations on your best scores, and go give Todd Rogers a run for his money on Grand Prix.
