  1. Found ahuge lot of TI/99 stuff today at GW all for us$40 1 ti/99 4a system 2 comlete sets of hookups 2 controller pairs games: Ms. Pac-Man Moon Patrol Donkey Kong Number Magic (x2) Early Logo Fun Jawbreaker II Picture Parts Star Trek Chisholm Trail Football Parsec Alligator Mix Buck Rogers Beginning Grammar (x2) Reading FUn Home FInancial Decisions CAr Wars A-Maze-Ing Personal Record Keeping Munch Man (x3) Blasto (x2) Tombstone City Number Readyness A stack of manuals and a compute book on the TI/99 4a plus James Bond: 007 for Atari 8-bit and Defender for Commodore I talked them into all the carts for a buck a piece since half were 99cents and half were 2.49
  2. The most usefull method would probably be through a tv card, monitors run off of RGB and atari (and all other game systems) run off of composite (which is basically S-Video) in order to convert Composite to RGB you need an Up Converter which can be found online for around us$250 (too pricey for my blood) although it would give the best picture and with an input selector you could hook up many game systems for hi-res graphics. so it wouldf look like this: game system1--- game system2-----input switch----Up converter----monitor game system3---/ another thing you could use with this setup is an A/B switch between the converter and the monitor you that you could still use the monitor with your computer I know that you can find input switches at Wal-mart for about us$20 (although it had the names for the current game systems written on the buttons) and an A/B switch can be found online at http://www.cablesnmor.com/goto/video-switch-box.html without the converter the setup would only cost around us$30 but the converter is the expensive part... I know there used to be one called a Cheese Box that was around us$69 anyhow, hope this helps, as you can tell I've thought about all this before
  3. drool... I want one.. any links to reference material on the mod?
  4. I have spent WAY too many nights playing fricking star raiders
  5. BASIC has the cake, but I also have a few Pole Positions... maybe tahat's jsut cause it was my dads favorite game... dunno... poac-man too... but I've also found quite a few Star Trek carts
  6. I'm interested in the 5200 I'm in tacoma/Puyallup so let me know if it's availiable still
  7. I also have a tempest 2000 Jaguar cart (well used), a ton of 8-bit disks I would gladly copy, and a handful of ti/99 carts with manuals I would work out any trade, I just need a 2600 Ms Pac-man
  8. have you tried it on an old monitor? I've found that min e wouldn't work on tv's at all... so I hooked it up to an old Zenith Data Systems monitor (composite input only on it) and it worked great
  9. I think that's exactly what I saw when I woke up from a long night of playing gamesK last week...... mmmm..... Zork
  10. Can anyone help me out? I need to trade a 7800 version of Ms. Pac-man for a 2600 version for my g/f. I am looking for a straight across trade from a reliable person. any help appreciated. Cart is grey label, plastic in great condition. Label is in fair condition (intact but has creases over seem and slight indents over screwhole) Label has no tears and no peeling I would say overall score of c+ I am not picky about the condition of the 2600 ver. it simply needs to work and have a label... I plan on using it quite a bit
  11. thanks.. I think I know what I need to know now
  12. I've done both the switchbox and the adapter... in fact I even tried the switchbox and the adapter at the same time.. problem was still there... adn I didn't notice a difference betweet that problem there and the way it showed up when I used the RCA jacks on the VCR.... what is the difference between those jacks and the jacks on the front of say my Commie 1702? and technical links you could provide? I am very interested in the atari video outputs...
  13. I have the smae problem on my g/f's tv when I tried to use a 600xl and a 130xl... I tried the switchbox, and the auxilary channels... and the rca on her vcr... still showed up like the h-hold was off and the screen was skewed... both systems work fine on my commie 1702... so odds are you aren't out 3.50 (for a 600xl you lucky bastard can't find any comps here... just 2600's) I don't know how to remedy this problem...
  14. http://www.ramelectronics.net/html/video_c...bles.html#s-rca any idea if I could jsut use this to convert the composite to S-Video and then convert the S-vid to VGA? also anyone know how much a VGA to s-Video adapter would be? maybe that could be a cheaper route?
  15. help is appreciated and I think I get it. I've found about 8 million sites that sell cables, but not a one that tells specifically how to get the Atari into a VGA and, more desired, how to convert luma chroma into RGB... I found boxes for sale around $120 minimum but there's no way I'm dropping that much just to pipe my atari into my VGA...
  16. so the Cheese box would be good to go without the Chroma mod?
  17. The site says they're working on modded ones, and if I could get a 7800 with all the right mods done (ie high score, current AV outs, maybe a modern look) I would consider paying about 100-150 Maybe they should consider making controllers and/or attractive game storage racks.... market matching ones of those with a custom 7800 shell on the system and they'd have a winner... at least imho
  18. I have in my possesion September 92 of "AtariUser" so I know that exists also, other than that all other issues I have are in your list
  19. if I did the MOD on that sight would it remove the verticle lines I saw on my old Commie 1702 when I used an RCA y-jack to use the Luma/Chroma/Audio jacks?
  20. also.. is the 5-pin monitor connector the same as the 5 Din conntector form the old AT keyboards? if so what would I need to make an old keyboard plug into half the adapter I'd need for a 5-pin to vga setup?
  21. Does anybody have information about what I would need to do in order to use my 800xl on my VGA monitor? is it just a matter you buying an adapter? I plan on using a switchbox and having the Atari use my computers monitor. also, if I take an S-video cable and just attatch one of the large Atari plugs to it will it work?
  22. Any idea how many issues there are total? what years etc
