  1. 1st thing: CHEESE 2nd thing: Sleepless nights of gaming goodness 3rd thing: CHEESE
  2. I was just wondering if anyone had a list of programs released by various companies on 5 1/4's? I know there are many lists of Cart games, but I haven't been able to find lists of floppies. I am looking for any list, even if it's just of one particular company. Also, I found a handful of blank 5 1/4s in a thrif store today, the odd part was that they were the standard atari brand disks (had the small ATARI logo sticker in the left corner and had ATARI sleeves) I never knew Atari actually sold blank disks with their stickers and sleeves. anyone know how these were sold? like how many came in a pack or anyhting?
  3. I got hooked on the text adventures early on, but next to those are the classic 8-bit style arcade clones... the most ignored one has got to be the fighting games, I have Kung Fu and Karateka, but that's about it
  4. The test site is either Australia or Austria, I forget which
  5. I use one called Kids Working With Computers The Atari BASIC Manual by: Thomas Milton Kemnitz and Lynne Mass Trillium Press New York Can't get much deeper than a book that looks like it was hand written and chock full of Atari spacemen... written towards kids, but very simple....
  6. Ok, I'm trying to decide which joysticks I should look for when I go out Thrift Hunting. I prefer traditional trigger-style joysticks, but also love the Atari styles with the stick and the button on the base... any recommendations? Here's what I have so far: (x2) Quickshot (also have as "Spectravideo") model #318-102 Made by Spectravideo All black with red triggers. This joystick has a sturdy base with suction cups to hold it in place. Stick is double trigger (thumb and index finger) and molded to fit firmly in hand. also features autofire switch. (x2) Quickshot II Plus model #SVI-102 Plus Made by Spectravideo Identical to Quickshot, but makes "click" sound when stick is moved or triggers are activated (x6) CX40 Joystick Made by Atari Generic controller provided by Atari with systems If you don't know these, you don't know Atari Click if you need to see it (x2) CX30 Paddles by Atari Paddles used in games such as Tennis, Breakout and Superbreakout I have seen these in three types, one says Atari on stickers, others say paddle or tennis(I have the ones w/ Atari on them) Click if you need to see them (x2) CX24 Pro-Line by Atari These are the 7800 joysticks. Long narrow and awkward as heck, still, they are sleek and retro looking CLick here if you need to see it I know there are many other decent controllers (I have seen a few types of Quickshot controllers) but I preffer thicker sturdier sticks and most seem flimsy. Which do you all preffer?
  7. I'm not so much trying to collect unique software as much as I'm always looking for interesting finds. After all, you can't play Super Breakout for 24 hours a day.... uh... wait.... *eyes pile of worn out paddles* I just enjoy these programs, I have more than I could play in a year. Plus I felt bad for my neglected 1050's... hooked up four of em to the system I just put up in my room and haven't used them for much more than Star Raiders II and Mission until tonight.... I am however, willing to trade disks... I just haven't got around to typing up a list of what I have. Also, I am particularly interested in completing my collection of S*P*A*C*E disks seeing as that was the User Group I belonged to back in the late 80's easrly 90's...
  8. Just wondering if anyone out there has public domain floppies lying around? I've got a ton of disks, mostly from S*P*A*C*E (Seattle Puget Sound Atari Computer Enthusiasts) and then Milatari, Novatari, and a handful of Maaug
  9. I have come across a mystery power supply in my many boxes of 8-bit. It's the same exact size as the standard 1050 drive power supply, but it has a different shaped top with the Atari logo (no Warner Communications Company text) and the wires come out of both sides like the computer power units, not both cables out of one side like other disk drives. Also, the power rating is different 1050 source: Mystery Source Part #:C017945 Part #:CA014748 Input: Output Input: Output: 120v 9V AC 120 VAC 9 VAC 60Hz 31 VA 60 Hz 15.9 VA 50W 20W the power jacks are identical (both fit the 1050) Also, the Mystery Source has "Atari Inc. Sunnyvale, CA" on the bottom
  10. Not a thrift find, but in the dark corner of a cubbord I haven't seen in years: retail disk versions of: Ballblazer Caverns of Mars Star Raiders II Hazard Run (a dukes of hazard game ) Ace of Aces L.A. Swat / Panther Racing Destruction Set Age Of Adventure The Seven Cities Of Gold Ghostbusters Sargon II
  11. what's the tife frame that a text copyright is good for? i thought they expired after a set amount of years?
  12. 600xl is good, I used to use one before my dad stopped using his 800xl adn I bought a 130xe, so now that goes to my girlfriend so she can play ms. pac-man.... still... it's a hardy system, took lots of abuse from playing star raiders and gyruss all night for days on end
  13. I am interested in compiling a list of which carts are done in which style, anyone willing can send a list of their atari carts, and label styles to me at [email protected] (note: although I am mainly interested in the atari ones right now I will also welcome names and companies of 3rd party programs)
  14. Big birds funhouse was one, the other one, i believe, was astrogrover, I'm alkmost positive as I can remember a space thing and he did a little dance after a level
  15. NOTE: I am only refering to the regular atari carts, not 3rd party games, like the CBS and SEGA games
  16. Anyone have any information on Cartridge variation on the Atari cartridges, like which were produced in the brown, silver, and XE carts, I have some games in a couple different variations and am just interested in which programs were made in which versions
  17. Hey everyone, I just picked up 4 TI carts and a handful of manuals for 4 buck at a G.W., any idea if it was money well spent? Carts w/ Manual: TI Invaders Alpiner Early Reading Early Learning Fun Manual Only: Moon Mine I've never even used a TI but I figured since the manuals were there, why not blow 4 bucks.
  18. I remember having a pair of different Sesame Street Carts that came with overlays for the keyboard. I can't remember the exact name of the games and I think they fell victim to the black hole of our attic... anytone else recall these games?
  19. I was just wondering if there are any Atari groups in Washington anymore, I remember this on my dad used to take me to back in the late 80's called SPACE, but I can't find a mention of them since 2k1, anyone know anything?
  20. I'm also using a Commodore 1702, excellent monitor plus RCA jacks that work for atari are on the front, means I could hook a Commie to the back and use both without swapping cables, only drawback is small speaker is on top, where my disk boxes go.
  21. I recently inherited a ton of old Atari stuff from my Dad (translation: saved from garbage) and it had a ton of old books and manuals, most actual books or manuals from products, but on thing caught my eye, it's a technical booklet on the 1050 drives from SAMS COMPUTERFACTS Features: Complete Schematics, Preliminary Service Checks, Troubleshooting Tips, Easy-REad Waveforms, Replacement Parts List, and Semiconductor Cross-Reference I couldn't find anything on it online and was wondering if anyone knew of it and if there were other ones made for other Atari hardware (I'm assuming there were). If there's any interest I can try to scan it and put it online. It contains 8 foldout pages.
