I *am* actually thinking of making a game called "Howel Bowel"

Please contact our legal department if you want to license my idea. Thanks

Walk the dog. Make him shit into your neighbours garden without getting caught. Gameplay could be a mix of Hover Bovver and Paper Boy.

$100 for the tape only? I'm listing my sealed copy for just $999 right now.
-
In this case the bidder has bid on three different items, each from different sellers, each related to video games - so it could just be a case of noob ebayer keen to get hold of some atari gear.
And now click on the winning bidder (t***r), 185 bids and 98% bidding activity with this seller.
-
He did that a few times with me as well, just refunding the money for the items out of stock but keeping the money paid for shipping. Also several times his "new" games were unused but totally worn or trashed.

So sad. And eBay will do nothing. I've contacted eBay before and gave them a similar situation and they did absolutely nothing.
They look at it as they get more money.
That's why it's a conflict of interest when they converted to listing fees PLUS a percentage of the sale.
The sad thing is it is an Goodwill account. In the listing it says "HONOR: We conduct ourselves with integrity". I guess that is their very own understanding of integrity.

You'd think someone with such a high feedback score is a little bit smarter when it comes to shill bidding....

And he's worried about the guys who check every three minutes lol. No wonder I don't find great BINs!
Well, when I click on an item listed within the last hour it always says at least "5 people are viewing this item per hour". And you have several resellers that bid on anything within 30 minutes after it has been listed. Always the same who put the first bid.

I used to have a full watch list on eBay and almost every day an auction ended on which I was bidding on. I also used to stay up longer (we are 6 hours ahead of the east coast) to check for newly listed items and often it was rewarding, especially on weekends. Also often there were so many nice items on eBay at the same time that I had to set priorities to not overstretch the budget. But that has totally changed, my watch list is completely empty. I no longer enjoy eBay.
I think there are several reason for this. Most of the listings are BIN now. If you search for "atari" 90% of the listings are BIN. Almost everything I've bought in the last months was BIN. So if you aren't really quick someone else buys it. And there are many resellers and guys who have nothing else to do than to click on reload every 3 minutes. So if you don't check eBay frequently the good BIN listings are gone. This wouldn't be too bad, if it at least would be rewarding. But the overall "quality" of the listings is going down. Not many rare or interesting items lately. Seems the good stuff is now mostly in collectors hand. When I have a look at the completed listings there isn't really anything that I've missed. So a lot of competition for nothing. And BIN listings aren't half as fun as auctions. No thrill of anticipation of the end of the auction.
Checking eBay every hour for just one item per week isn't worth the time anymore. I guess I'll only check eBay once or twice per day now, maybe stop looking on eBay at all. Not sure what is the driving force here. eBay promoting BIN listings over auctions? Less new old stock finds and only mediocre stuff left in the attics and basements?
Maybe my impression is biased because the larger an collection gets the less stuff you need. How about you? Do you still enjoy eBay?

If you want to use this forum to sell your collection then you should also take the time to post the pictures here and respond to PM's. This is not Craigslist.

Maybe these days, I paid $50 for mine.

Wow, I didn't think anyone would bite at that price, congrats.

$150 for a sealed Subterranea is very cheap.

they are basically bidding on a copy cart, lol
Still kind of cool though with the PVV instruction card/etc..
Yup. The seller should have taken the $246. That's probably 10 times more than what he'll get when the bidders figure out what they'll actually get.

$246.50 final
For a copy cart...

Anyone considering a sealed I.I. Treasure of Tarmin...a word of caution.
1. It's from Venezuela
2. " * Brand new. Item will be opened prior to shipping, and shipping will include everything in box."
I guess that's their way to avoid more ripped games. I wouldn't buy anything from Venezuela anymore.
-
Oh, we haven't even begun to get into sticker orientation or degrees of color fading

And what about opening sealed copies and taking fingerprints and DNA evidence from the cartridge to collect by line worker?

Anyone into collecting box variations based on the price tags? For example, having one box with Kay-Bee Toy Stores price tag and another box with a different store's tag?
No, but I prefer circulated copies with a price tag over that Venezuelan crap.

I just wanted to send a payment to another member here and all but my own registration address in PayPal are gone. And to make it even worse, when I add a new address the name and country is no longer editable.
Beside the fact that the new site sucks anyway, who the hell made this retarded change?

He's been trying to sell his collection for years, always at huge prices, occasionally he sells something.
I wouldn't call someone who tries to make a profit by reselling homebrews a collector.

The main reason people do not post pics of collections is they are simply not presentable or finished. It's always in a half way state meaning most of it is sitting in boxes or storage containers/etc.. It's just waiting for that room or shelf that never gets finished because buying is easy, making it presentable takes real time that you can't just do while your sitting at work, and pretty much never happens for the average super collector. It's easy to display 50 games but 1000 games takes a lot of work and creativity to make it look nice.
This. Plus, if you are living in a major city, space is freakin' expensive. Having a small extra game room will cost you easily $50,000.
It would be an inside job, and would be very easy to catch them as you would leave a massive trail when trying to sell it, which is probably why it's never been done since lets face it, there are probably a few thieves hanging around the scene...Exactly. You can steal the Mona Lisa, but you can not show if to anyone nor sell it.

No one else wanted a sealed Keyboard Component Golf for $15 shipped?

I voted for Rom because he totally deserves it after 10 years of tedious work. He is the one who preserves all the scans and dumps and shares it publically. Without him there wouldn't be someone going to all threads and building a library such as Atarimania.
As of now there is only the category "collector", so we could add a new category for him. The rock and roll hall of fame also has categories for songwriters and producers.
Just rename it to "AtariAge hall of fame" and then put the category collector / contributor / programmer etc. behind the name.
