  1. Anywhere from $100 to $300, dependent on condition of the cart, and/or mutually-instigated-insanity on the part of buyer/seller - - http://www.atariguide.com/4/419.php http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_ff3=9&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&icep_uq=glib+atari&icep_sellerId=&icep_ex_kw=&icep_sortBy=12&icep_catId=&icep_minPrice=&icep_maxPrice=&ipn=psmain&icep_vectorid=229466&kwid=902099&mtid=824&kw=lg Location of atmospheric high pressure and low pressure cells also plays a part, as well as the Big Mac index - - http://www.economist...7/big-mac-index -a2a
  2. Beautiful! The mini-keypad, and pause/start buttons are an elegant touch. As a fellow solderer and tinker, I recognize a master, and applaud you. Can't wait to see it built up with a shell! Hmm, maybe an amusing mini-door should be made just above the small screen in a salute to the bizzare storage area on the original 5200. The Angry Video Game Nerd had it right, a beer does fit nicely in there . . . ! -a2a
  3. It was an alternate method of protecting the PCB from dust and moisture. Probably cheaper than manufacturing a spring loaded door, like most ATARI carts. Seen more commonly in Activision carts, in my experience. They seem to get removed over the years, though, so to find one with it in it is nice. -a2a
  4. Beautiful workmanship! It's the Longhorn Engineer, quite a craftsman. His "build log" for the unit is mentioned in the eBay post, and is located here - - http://longhornengineer.com/projects/portables/atari-flashback-p-v1/ Very cool, and seems quite a reasonable price for the work. Not so sure I like the knob that sticks off the bottom of the unit - - makes it hard to pack the unit away and travel, and would limit it to being a neat "showroom" piece for me. Thanks, boxpressed! -a2a
  5. Got what I needed - - thanks for the response, everyone!! -a2a
  6. How 'about a bit of a bump? Seems a decent thing to do . . . plenty of treats still available here in this thread! -a2a
  7. Thanks, guys! I appreciate you replying! 8-bit, in order to keep shipping costs down, I just need that switch plate - - I can give you instructions on how to get it out! It can be a little tricky, I agree. bennybingo, I might need two switch plates, so please do PM, and I will get back to you, too! -a2a
  8. Interesting stuff, and nice layout - - - - is there a price-list somewhere on there? -a2a
  9. Decided to give it a go and signed up as myself - - If I can slide into the upgrade (late, sorry!) maybe I will list some of the items in my for-sale that are lingering! Thanks for creating an alternative! -a2a
  10. http://www94.pair.co..._5200_adap.html It does not show hooking up the second fire button, but its easy, just wire pin 9 to the 5200 top fire button and pin 5 & 7 on the genesis side need to be wired to +5vdc. Thank you so much! I look forward to building this. I have some 4050 ICs around from repairing ATARI 2600 consoles - - that part gets fried fairly often by static, unless you make the necessary mods! Will I definitely need a 4052 instead, or can I use the 4050s? -a2a EDIT: Just looked it up - - the hex buffer 4050 will not work as a switch, I'll have to get some 4052s! Thanks!
  11. Bump for 11/11/11 - - - - Skyrim released today, so in celebration, I've got a sealed copy of Elder Scrolls III for XBOX on offer! -a2a
  12. Are you referring to a Masterplay clone that you built, or an add-on that supports/enhances the Masterplay? Either way, would you mind linking the plans? I would enjoy building something like that! -a2a
  13. I've bought dozens of these from Bradley at Best Electronics, and refurbed many a paddle set - - they are the real deal! In general, all of Best's goods are worth the money! -a2a
  14. I am looking for the SWITCH INSERT (4-switch) on the top of the ATARI 2600 console - - Just need the switch-plate insert, needs to be in good condition - - all tabs present, no peeling of label, a few "chips" on the edge are ok. I would prefer a VADER insert, so all-black, but I would also take a "normal" one as well. $7 + shipping? THANKS!! -a2a
  15. I think this might fit your bill . . . http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/189915-atari-portfolio-with-accessories-for-sale/ -a2a
  16. Thanks! I think that is exactly what I will do. I will place an order with BEST ELECTRONICS shortly - - http://www.best-electronics-ca.com/custom-i.htm Cheers! -a2a
  17. I gave it another good cleaning, and tried it from a cold boot - - same issue! HOWEVER, then I noticed that ROBOTRON sometimes was getting the left fire button stuck in the "ON" position sometimes AND, after letting the 5200 sit there with POPEYE running on attract mode for an hour, and THEN popping PENGO in - - it worked! I think this all points to the GTIA chip being flakey, so I will have to order a few up from BEST ELECTRONICS! Thanks for the response!! -a2a (anyone have any loose GTIA chips, so I don't have to put together a $35 minimum order from Bradley . . . ?)

    Sad PENGO

So, I have a copy of PENGO that - - - I can boot up on the 5200, - Get the ATARI start screen, - I can choose and start a game of any number players or difficulty, - It shows the gamefield - - just the borders, but with no ice cubes or characters, just black . . . And then the screen goes garbled, maybe with some random letters, or maybe it just freezes. Other games play okay on the 5200. Is this a system issue - - does PENGO access something that most other carts don't, and it's showing up only on this game? Is it a 2-port versus 4-port issue - - mine's a 2-port. Is PENGO fixable . . . or is it a lost cause . . . ? Thanks for any advice! Of all the carts in my collection . . . shesh! -a2a
  19. Given its recent performance on eBay - - http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fcsc%2Fi.html%3F_nkw%3Datari%2Bmousetrap%2Bsealed%26_in_kw%3D1%26_ex_kw%3D%26_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories%26_okw%3Datari%2Bmousetrap%2Bsealed%26_oexkw%3D%26_adv%3D1%26LH_Complete%3D1%26_udlo%3D%26_udhi%3D%26_samilow%3D%26_samihi%3D%26_sadis%3D200%26_fpos%3DZip%2Bcode%26_fsct%3D%26LH_SALE_CURRENCY%3D0%26_sop%3D12%26_dmd%3D1%26_ipg%3D50 - - and that most people here will only pay about 1/2 of eBay prices, I would say about $4-9 -a2a
  20. This is super-bueno, Stan! Very cool! PM sent! This will be good wood-working and soldering music . . . ! -a2a
  21. Ugh - - mold. Worst substance in the world, perhaps only beat by cat pee. Yeah, I see that as a clear case of a seller attempting to recoup some value from flood-destroyed controllers. I hope for your sake that this is as clear-cut as **I** would interpret it - - similar to failing to declare a car engine as flood-damaged before attempting selling it. Good luck, AX! People can suck sometimes, sorry you got the brunt of it here! -a2a
  22. What a great guy to deal with! Was quick and communicative, and despite being across the border in Canada, was patient as items slowly cleared Customs and finally made it to him. I recommend doing business with this fellow, for sure! -a2a
