LISTINGS CONTINUED FROM SECOND POST - - Composite Video Modded ATARI 2600 Packages (Four Three Two units on offer, all shown down after all my "blah-blah" and disclaimers, for those that just want to scroll and look! ) These video mod consoles are just "simple" transistor and resistor mods, learned from other ATARI enthusiasts and dealers, and uses RADIO SHACK ‘perf board’ to assemble the parts and secure it inside the console. It is a easy and effective mod that does not require extensive changes to be made to the original console. I know that some of you (like me!) are "videophiles" about your video output, and want the "absolute best" video output possible, and so will prefer instead a pre-fab video output board made by the likes of Longhorn or batari (our own AA member LittleJoe has some GREAT ones for sale, by the way, at his website - - http://electronicsentimentalities.com !) In contrast, these are just a great, inexpensive way to mod a console. I think the color and brightness looks quite good on these for being "simple" mods. The ATARI 2600 JUNIORS are bright and have cartoonish colors, with a lot of ‘pop’ to them. If these aren't the "quality" that you think you need, and you want that "uber-console" with S-Video and other features, or think "Hmm, well, I can easily solder up that mod myself, and better!", well then, I guess these units aren't for you! However, maybe someone wants a nice "starter set" that is easy to connect to modern TVs, and I thought I would show these off! Most folks here already have all the ATARI 2600 units they need, and could use another one like a fish wants a bicycle (or, for another apt analogy, Google up "Coals to Newcastle"!), but hey, why not? Don't even mess around, go straight to the source - - BEST Electronics in California (link) Bradley's site is not known for being navigationally friendly, so here is some direct assistance - - Atari Replacement Power Supplies Bradley does PayPal, but only for orders around $50-$75. The rest of the time, it's check or money order. Basically, you send him a letter with your order and the payment. If it's over $50, maybe $75, you can email him and ask for a PayPal invoice. He's the absolute TOPS in customer service and runs an amazing warehouse. Seriously, the BEST place to get ATARI parts is BEST! He's got all the backstock, and more . . . -a2a

Looks like mostly computer parts, including a lot of games on floppy (although that isn't exactly clear from the post), and then just a dozen or so 2600 carts. Some of the carts are scarce, and so depending on condition, could be nice to have. Might be some manuals, too? Might even be boxes, although it's not mentioned. Bottom line for me would be "do I want or can I sell (or be bothered to try and sell!) an 805 module, printer, and disc drive after I have salvaged the games and manuals I want . . . " If your answer is "yes," or you have a desire to have more hardware, I'd say the price is OK. Maybe knock it down to $55 on the spot, if you can. Go and see, as always, right? But what about a Gamecube with a Game Boy Player? I don't think Wii has one of those. I bought my Gamecube primarily to use the Game Boy Player. For being worthless it sure seems needed and looks nice next to my Wii. Also, the Wii maybe backwards compatible but so is the 7800. I paid around $50 for a Gamecube with a Game Boy Player at Disc Replay. ... my comment is a bit off topic, but I have to say - - Gamecube + Gameboy Player + "EZ Flash IV" Gameboy Advance Size Flash Cart + GOOMBA software + PocketNES software + any of several Gameboy Advance Atari Emulators + ability to restart the Gameboy Player ("Change cartridge") from the couch = Retro gaming heaven . . . !
