I just sold it for $30 - - but I had to bundle TWO other games w/instructions with it to make it go!
LINK:
THRESHOLD for ATARI 2600 by TIGERVISION
I think it was someone who wanted to complete their collection, however, so the "demand" was unique.
Not trying to get in the way here, Ax, so apologies if I offend, I am just trying to add more data to the pool . . .

SOLD - Entire RESIDENT EVIL set PLUS the loose SECRET OF MANA catridge that I also had for sale (Marketplace Thread for SECRET OF MANA)

Thanks to everyone who looked and had an interest, I really appreciate it, and everyone in the community!

Oh man... I am so tempted to take these off your hands. I have been ruining myself with games since payday
How much more do you think shipping to canada would be?
I sent you a PM, Elerach, with some shipping information - -
basically, if things are UNDER 4 pounds, and a small package, they can be sent to Canada via U.S. Postal Service First Class International at very affordable rates.

Nice set, you might get more if you sold it on eBay though. *EDIT* Sorry didn't realize someone had already said the same thing!
Thanks

Yeah, I like AtariAge as it is the "response to eBay" - -
We who ARE the community selling things to each other for reasonable prices, NOT some random person on eBay out there jacking up the prices and trying to make a buck on us!
Thanks for looking!

Hmm, yeah, go eBay, go, make that money!
- - All the listings for the LONG BOX alone cost as much as my entire package - - and that's before shipping, even! I guess people are trying to re-coup the fees that eBay charges? Or are sellers just trying to wring money out of us . . . ?
eBay Auction -- Item Number: 390138014817
eBay Auction -- Item Number: 250754325154
eBay Auction -- Item Number: 130477200433
I wonder how many of these listings actually END successfully, though?

At risk of seeming like a dick don't we have a subforum for this?
Aye, that we do, don't we - - it's right up at the top, called "Auction Central!"
I think some NEW folks drifting over from eBay, like this fellow, worry that no one looks there, and want to "top list" their postings here.
I'd say if it becomes a habit, we can be a bit belligerent about it . . . but for now, I say "meh!"
It's a nice listing, rare item, and an price - - he's doing some "pack-ins," too, depending on what the final bidding ends at.

- RESIDENT EVIL 3 - - Black Label

-
$40 for this nice set
-
PayPal gift payment only
- Package will ship immediately, pending payment
- Non-smoking, no pets household
- I take my packing seriously - - I want this to arrive for YOU how I would want it to arrive for ME!
- I intend to use a USPS Priority Mail "medium box" (enough space for games and bubble wrap)
- USPS Priority Mail "large box" - $10.50
- Insurance - $1.75
-
Shipping and Insurance Subtotal - $12.25
-
Final Price with Shipping and Insurance - $52.25
-
Shall we just say "$50, shipped?"
Detailed pictures - -
Note:
- The cases all have some light scuffing,
- The long box label has lifted slightly in a few spots,
- As well, there is some light "foxing" of the edges of the RESIDENT EVIL 1 (Long Box) manual.
- The rest of the manuals are in GREAT condition, though!
- Some light, barely noticeable, thin lines are present on one of the RESIDENT EVIL 1 DIRECTOR'S CUT discs
- For all these reasons, a overall "GOOD" grade collection, and hence the nice price.
Sorry, forgot to shoot the long box disc - - it's as clear and shiny as the others!!

Gone skiing for the weekend . . .
Back Sunday nite, and will respond to PMs then.
No one has expressed any interest in this yet, so I am assuming it is not a desired object - - that fact that it is PAL must sound too scary?
I will take "best offers" too, if anyone is interested . . .
Have a great weekend, ya'll, catch you later . . .

There's one person who expressed initial interest via PM, but I have heard no further word back after I responded, so feel free to get in line if you want this!

Decent price. God how I HATE this game, though. It's way too long, it gets really tedious with all the dragons in the jungle part, and you fight Santa Claus? Really?
Hahaha, I know, right?
I was playing my other copy last night, the one with my saved game from waaaaaay back, and I was remembering how far I had gotten in that current saved game yet how far yet I had to go . . . and I suddenly got very tired!
Well, one of our Canadian AtariAge brethren has expressed interest in this nice-price cart, so it may be sold by the morning . . . the funds just come full circle, though, as I am considering one of Yurkie's refurb jobs on my ColecoVision!!

Final price is pending completion of the AV Composite Video Output project for this unit (Spring 2012) - -
$80 shipped for this lovely boxed unit (in the Lower 48 states of the U.S.!)
ATARI 2600 JR "Long Rainbow" Console
PAL (not NTSC!) version, COMPLETE in the BOX
This thing is essentially new in the box - - the protective plastic film is still on the logo, the serial numbers match - - but I realize I can't "officially" say that it is "new," because I opened it to look at it and test it!
Super-important - -
This is a PAL console. It will not work correctly on many NTSC televisions (some, more advanced ones will let you switch to PAL or tune the frequency to accommodate for the signal).
If "PAL" and "NTSC" means nothing to you, then please don't buy this console!
I don't want anyone unhappy!
I obtained this because I thought I might do this composite output mod for PAL systems:
PAL Atari 2600 Composite Video Mod (link to article)
However, I am realizing that I don't have the time to tackle this one right now!
SO, I am offering it up!
Details - -
- The unit works great - - if you have the option and can modulate your TV, or have an RF to VGA adapter, you get a good image. The joystick ports and all that DO work.
- The box is slightly scuffed, and has some wear and prints on it (see detailed pictures below)
- A regular North America ATARI 2600 power adapter is 100% intended and compatible with this console - - I just used one from one of my normal 2600 consoles! The PAL power brick is included, of course, but all it ever did was step down the voltage to the correct, same-the-world-around voltage that the 2600 wanted, and the same jack type, too. (Again, see detailed pictures below)
- A fresh, new joystick was included with the console.
- A set of owners instructions come with the console.
- An RF video line with one end with a PAL termination was included with this console (you will need your own RF line, basically)
Details - -
- Package will ship immediately, pending payment
- Console and parts will be repacked in it's own box with foam peanuts and bubble wrap
- Console box will then be wrapped in plastic, padded with bubble-wrap and placed INSIDE another box that is also padded and packing filled!
INTERNATIONAL BUYERS - Yes, I can do that. However I must warn you, the shipping and insurance may be cost-prohibitive to your budget, as I'm sure you know!
More detailed pictures (an "unboxing" of sorts, really!) - -
Woot! Lotsta pictures! THANKS for looking!

I paid less then what you are asking on ebay a couple years ago. How/why did it triple in price?
Seriously dude, it's bad form around here to take a crap in someone's for sale thread.
i thought it was the norm on AA
I am always happy to discuss and justify my prices, and I took no offense, however I also appreciate the notion of respecting others' for-sale threads!
:D In the end, we all went to bed happy - - I just sold the cart.

-
Well, this should be fun to watch!
Wonder what they think the reserve should be - - $20,000?

I'm just amazed this game shot up soo much. Then again I remember Futurama for the PS2 getting $50 easy on ebay for a while and now you can get it for Under $20 easy. The market does some crazy things sometimes.
Agreed, makes me think I should hold onto it a bit longer . . . !
I'm not much in this for money, though, and my New Year's resolution is to clean out the things I don't use.
Overall, I sort of feel the collectibles market is "soft" right now, and there are a lot of deals to be had.
My personal sense of things is that in 3-5 years when the economy recovers and people have more disposable income, the price of collectibles will rise again, and people who held on or bought up will be sitting pretty - - if they are monetarily motivated and want to sell, that is.
Otherwise, it seems to be a buyer's paradise for collectibles in this economy!
But that's just my "1UP" as it were, in video game parlance . . .

I know what this is, and I still can't believe it's getting $100 on eBay. I swear I paid like $30 max with a buy it now from somebody like Pedro! or Lukie Games but I can't remember.
Yep, Pedro Games has it for $69.99 with free shipping right now:
http://www.pedrogames.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=DCKTLS2NES
Lukie Games wants $75.97, with free shipping as well.

I paid less then what you are asking on ebay a couple years ago. How/why did it triple in price?
An excellent question:
RarityGuide.com NES Listings (search for "Duck Tales 2" in search bar, no quotes needed)
And, a great recent article on NES rarities (scroll down for Duck Tales 2):
http://www.retrojunk.com/details_articles/4881/
Bottom line, eBay and online e-tailers have jacked the price to nearly $100, loose - - that's what that first link to Google Price Listings will show.
What I am asking is a sane, realistic price that collectors will appreciate!
Sounds like you got a great deal a few years ago, by the way! Congrats!
-a2a

SOLD - $45, "shipping included," seller personally covered $1.75 of insurance
My New Year's resolution cleaning sale continues - -
This one is for all the NES owners on AtariAge - CAPCOM's DUCKTALES 2 in excellent condition and for a reasonable, non-eBay price!
No instructions, just the cartridge, but the label, case and PCB contacts are in GREAT condition!
(Sorry for my thumb smudge on the label - - it's actually perfectly glossy, and in excellent condition, so glossy in fact that it shows thumb-prints! They wipe right off, though, don't panic!)
More detailed pictures are below
- Great-looking, thick PCB!
-
No corrosion, nice clean contacts!
- Works great in my NES (I replaced my 72-pin socket recently, so all games fire right up for me!)
- Label is in really nice tight, condition, both front, back and end, with NO lifting or peeling
- Case is in great condition, with no scuffs or scratches
- Comes from a dog, cat, orangutan, chicken, etc.-free household, n' no smokin' either!
It's a really desired game, and always seem to list WAY to high (really, eBay?? $100??).
I picked it up a while back because I really enjoyed playing it as a kid, but now I've had my fun with it, and it can be yours!

Space Jockey and Word Zapper also got "certificates of merit" -??? really?
Ah yes, SPACE JOCKEY, which routinely gets lambasted on various "Worst Of" lists around on the Inter-webs!
WORD ZAPPER actually made it into their "Most Innovative Video Game" category - - yes, it is that . . .
"This is one brain game that won't turn off the blast . . ." it says there on the last page, and then it gets cut off!
I was left in horrible, gripping suspense, as no doubt were you, so I have uploaded the next page, so we can all bask in the glory of Word Zapper's honorable mention:

Here's some additional FUN - -
In the "electronic GAMES" magazine
"1983 Arcade Awards" (January 1983 issue)
THRESHOLD received the - -
"Best Science Fiction / Fantasy Video Game"
"Certificate of Merit"
- - DEFENDER took the top award in that category (really, editors??)
AND, here's some nice magazine scans of that issue!

PLUS, bonus, an ad for THRESHOLD in the same magazine issue where they toot their own horn. A lot!

Thought you might all enjoy those. It really puts the game in context.
I found that issue here, at retromags.com, where there is a LOT more fun reading to be had:

FAMITSU Magazine "Event Edition" GAME BOY LIGHT SKELETON - (( SIGNED! ))
in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Posted · Edited by atari2atari
SOLD and Shipped! Final price of $175, shipping included
My New Years sale continues - -
Up for special offer is a unique, one-of-a-kind GAME BOY - -
Signed FAMITSU Magazine 500th Issue Celebration GAME BOY LIGHT SKELETON
("FAMITSU 500 MODEL-F02")
Complete in Box - SIGNED
(Jump to after all the detailed pictures down below for pricing and shipping information)
DETAILS - -
This is the extremely hard-to-find FAMITSU 500 "Event" Model-F02, never released in the U.S.
What makes it unique is that is has been signed by editors from FAMITSU magazine at the celebration event where it was released.
There was also a "Mail Order Version" of the unit, which is discussed here: tinycartridge.com Article on SKELETON Game Boy
The unit is absolutely beautiful - - it features a clear case, so you can see the electronics, and it has an eerie luminescent green backlight - - sort of like and INDIGLO watch, if you know what those are.
The box art is amazing, and quite humorous ("Jackin! to that Girl with your Junction-cable!" - - whoa!):
Unit has been opened and enjoyed - - wouldn't you? - - but is still in excellent condition, with instructions (only helpful if you read Japanese . . .)
DISCLOSURES - -
- The plastic packaging has one small tear in it:
- A slight bit of wear of the ink on the back of the cardboard package
- A bit of minor wear and creasing of the cardboard itself
HOWEVER,
- The screen is in GREAT, shiny, un-scratched condition!
- Unit works flawlessly, and has crisp, clean action on buttons and controller!
There's just minor BOX wear, and the unit itself is in AMAZING condition.
You might find others out there, but they are probably not SIGNED!
PRICING - -
If you've made it this far, you probably know what these are worth. If not, you can search the Internet.
I would like to start the conversation at $250, shipped
You can offer less, if you like, but I am in zero hurry to sell, and if I get no decent bites here, I might eBay it someday.
- - Basically, I wanted to give my crew here at ATARI AGE a chance before the hordes of eBay bid this thing into oblivion!!
(There's one on eBay for $380, "Buy It Now," plus $15 international shipping from Japan, but it's not signed: eBay Item # 300517178495)
You can offer more, if you like as well - -
Essentially, if I happen to get a flurry of interest, we will open this up to a short auction here on ATARI AGE, if no one objects.
SHIPPING, ETC. - -
P.S. -
THANKS FOR LOOKING!!
