CIB - PAL Version ATARI 2600 JR "Long Rainbow" Console
atari2atari replied to atari2atari's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Gone skiing for the weekend . . . Back Sunday nite, and will respond to PMs then. No one has expressed any interest in this yet, so I am assuming it is not a desired object - - that fact that it is PAL must sound too scary? I will take "best offers" too, if anyone is interested . . . Have a great weekend, ya'll, catch you later . . . -a2a -

SECRET OF MANA for SUPER NINTENDO by SQUARE SOFT
atari2atari replied to atari2atari's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Hahaha, I know, right? I was playing my other copy last night, the one with my saved game from waaaaaay back, and I was remembering how far I had gotten in that current saved game yet how far yet I had to go . . . and I suddenly got very tired! Well, one of our Canadian AtariAge brethren has expressed interest in this nice-price cart, so it may be sold by the morning . . . the funds just come full circle, though, as I am considering one of Yurkie's refurb jobs on my ColecoVision!! -a2a -
Final price is pending completion of the AV Composite Video Output project for this unit (Spring 2012) - - $80 shipped for this lovely boxed unit (in the Lower 48 states of the U.S.!) ATARI 2600 JR "Long Rainbow" Console PAL (not NTSC!) version, COMPLETE in the BOX This thing is essentially new in the box - - the protective plastic film is still on the logo, the serial numbers match - - but I realize I can't "officially" say that it is "new," because I opened it to look at it and test it! Super-important - - This is a PAL console. It will not work correctly on many NTSC televisions (some, more advanced ones will let you switch to PAL or tune the frequency to accommodate for the signal). If "PAL" and "NTSC" means nothing to you, then please don't buy this console! I don't want anyone unhappy! I obtained this because I thought I might do this composite output mod for PAL systems: PAL Atari 2600 Composite Video Mod (link to article) However, I am realizing that I don't have the time to tackle this one right now! SO, I am offering it up! Details - - The unit works great - - if you have the option and can modulate your TV, or have an RF to VGA adapter, you get a good image. The joystick ports and all that DO work. The box is slightly scuffed, and has some wear and prints on it (see detailed pictures below) A regular North America ATARI 2600 power adapter is 100% intended and compatible with this console - - I just used one from one of my normal 2600 consoles! The PAL power brick is included, of course, but all it ever did was step down the voltage to the correct, same-the-world-around voltage that the 2600 wanted, and the same jack type, too. (Again, see detailed pictures below) A fresh, new joystick was included with the console. A set of owners instructions come with the console. An RF video line with one end with a PAL termination was included with this console (you will need your own RF line, basically) Details - - Package will ship immediately, pending payment Console and parts will be repacked in it's own box with foam peanuts and bubble wrap Console box will then be wrapped in plastic, padded with bubble-wrap and placed INSIDE another box that is also padded and packing filled! INTERNATIONAL BUYERS - Yes, I can do that. However I must warn you, the shipping and insurance may be cost-prohibitive to your budget, as I'm sure you know! More detailed pictures (an "unboxing" of sorts, really!) - - Woot! Lotsta pictures! THANKS for looking! -a2a

SOLD - loose SECRET OF MANA catridge PLUS an entire RESIDENT EVIL set that I also had for sale (Marketplace Thread for RESIDENT EVIL) - - $65 for all, shipping included Thanks to everyone who looked and had an interest, I really appreciate it, and everyone in the community! -a2a ### Moving forward with the New Year's Resolution Rampage Sale - - A "short sale" for SECRET OF MANA for SUPER NINTENDO by SQUARE SOFT CAVEAT EMPTOR - - This is just a loose cart sale at a special price for someone who just wants to PLAY the game! Cartridge Only No cartridge dust cover VERY small label tear on BACK label (see detailed pictures below) Cartridge works just fine! Battery still works, and has not leaked (for now, but if you have skills, I suggest replacing - - I do for ALL my SNES games!) Case is in great condition, with no scuffs or scratches Comes from a dog, cat, orangutan, chicken, etc.-free household, n' no smokin' either! Basically, I am putting this up for those who want to enjoy this game, but don't want to get ripped off by eBay. $20 for the cartridge PLUS the cost of USPS Priority Shipping from 80401 and insurance - - So, $5.00, for a USPS "small box" plus approximately $1.50 for insurance. TOTAL with SHIPPING and INSURANCE = $26.50 PAYPAL gift payment only, please! Cartridge will be plastic bagged, put in an anti-static bag, and then surrounded by bubble wrap. Box will be re-enforced with cardboard I take my packing seriously, and I want it all to arrive for YOU the way I would want it to arrive for ME! Feedback should be left for me, and I will do the same for you (big group hug, wahoo!) Please, before you think of making a lower offer, do your Internet research, and respect the VERY kind price I am listing this at! A few more detail pictures: As always, THANKS SO MUCH for looking! -a2a

Seriously dude, it's bad form around here to take a crap in someone's for sale thread. i thought it was the norm on AA I am always happy to discuss and justify my prices, and I took no offense, however I also appreciate the notion of respecting others' for-sale threads! :D In the end, we all went to bed happy - - I just sold the cart. -a2a

A sealed NES Stadium Events is Up for sale again
atari2atari replied to Rev's topic in Auction Central
Well, this should be fun to watch! Wonder what they think the reserve should be - - $20,000? -a2a -
Agreed, makes me think I should hold onto it a bit longer . . . ! I'm not much in this for money, though, and my New Year's resolution is to clean out the things I don't use. Overall, I sort of feel the collectibles market is "soft" right now, and there are a lot of deals to be had. My personal sense of things is that in 3-5 years when the economy recovers and people have more disposable income, the price of collectibles will rise again, and people who held on or bought up will be sitting pretty - - if they are monetarily motivated and want to sell, that is. Otherwise, it seems to be a buyer's paradise for collectibles in this economy! But that's just my "1UP" as it were, in video game parlance . . . -a2a

An excellent question: Google Price Compare RarityGuide.com NES Listings (search for "Duck Tales 2" in search bar, no quotes needed) And, a great recent article on NES rarities (scroll down for Duck Tales 2): http://www.retrojunk.com/details_articles/4881/ Bottom line, eBay and online e-tailers have jacked the price to nearly $100, loose - - that's what that first link to Google Price Listings will show. What I am asking is a sane, realistic price that collectors will appreciate! Sounds like you got a great deal a few years ago, by the way! Congrats! -a2a

SOLD - $45, "shipping included," seller personally covered $1.75 of insurance My New Year's resolution cleaning sale continues - - This one is for all the NES owners on AtariAge - CAPCOM's DUCKTALES 2 in excellent condition and for a reasonable, non-eBay price! No instructions, just the cartridge, but the label, case and PCB contacts are in GREAT condition! (Sorry for my thumb smudge on the label - - it's actually perfectly glossy, and in excellent condition, so glossy in fact that it shows thumb-prints! They wipe right off, though, don't panic!) More detailed pictures are below Great-looking, thick PCB! No corrosion, nice clean contacts! Works great in my NES (I replaced my 72-pin socket recently, so all games fire right up for me!) Label is in really nice tight, condition, both front, back and end, with NO lifting or peeling Case is in great condition, with no scuffs or scratches Comes from a dog, cat, orangutan, chicken, etc.-free household, n' no smokin' either! It's a really desired game, and always seem to list WAY to high (really, eBay?? $100??). I picked it up a while back because I really enjoyed playing it as a kid, but now I've had my fun with it, and it can be yours! $40 for the cartridge PLUS the cost of USPS Priority Shipping from 80401 and insurance - - So, $5.00, for a USPS "small box" plus approximately $2.00 for insurance. TOTAL with SHIPPING and INSURANCE = $47 PAYPAL gift payment only, please! A few more detail pictures: THANKS so much for looking!

THRESHOLD for ATARI 2600 by TIGERVISION
atari2atari replied to atari2atari's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Ah yes, SPACE JOCKEY, which routinely gets lambasted on various "Worst Of" lists around on the Inter-webs! WORD ZAPPER actually made it into their "Most Innovative Video Game" category - - yes, it is that . . . "This is one brain game that won't turn off the blast . . ." it says there on the last page, and then it gets cut off! I was left in horrible, gripping suspense, as no doubt were you, so I have uploaded the next page, so we can all bask in the glory of Word Zapper's honorable mention: -a2a -
THRESHOLD for ATARI 2600 by TIGERVISION
atari2atari replied to atari2atari's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Here's some additional FUN - - In the "electronic GAMES" magazine "1983 Arcade Awards" (January 1983 issue) THRESHOLD received the - - "Best Science Fiction / Fantasy Video Game" "Certificate of Merit" - - DEFENDER took the top award in that category (really, editors??) AND, here's some nice magazine scans of that issue! PLUS, bonus, an ad for THRESHOLD in the same magazine issue where they toot their own horn. A lot! Thought you might all enjoy those. It really puts the game in context. I found that issue here, at retromags.com, where there is a LOT more fun reading to be had: http://www.retromags.com/forums/files/category/64-electronic-games/ -a2a -

Your problem SOUNDS like the RIOT, the top-most IC in your picture. I recommend purchasing from Bradley Koda at BEST ELECTRONICS. His website can be intimidating to some, but here is a link to a parts list there: http://www.best-electronics-ca.com/2600_Tech_Tips.htm#based Scroll down and look for "Atari I/O Chip CO10750 $8.00" He's a solid guy to buy from - - look around and grab some more goodies while you are there! Alternately, you can buy an entirely NEW board to swap into your case from him for $35, the "Atari 2600A NTSC/US Populated Motherboard CA015911 $35.00" Cheers! -a2a

Complete in Box Vectrex System Taking Offers
atari2atari replied to jeffg's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
This fellow near me keeps trying to sell this Magnavox Odyssey: http://denver.craigslist.org/vgm/2151594144.html I bought a few ATARI off him, decent young guy, just cleaning out some odds n' ends that were in his girlfriend's dad's garage. I'd be happy to work something out as a "go-between" / "courier" via PayPal and then get it shipped to you, if you were interested. I told him the price was a bit high, but maybe it's acceptable to you . . . -a2a I'm sorry, but I'd meant the one from 1972 that uses cards sort of like cartridges. Thanks for the offer, though. No worries, I figured as much, just being social - - it's what I told the fellow, too, that the first year ones are the only high-value ones. I just wanted it for funs, but he saw something on eBay (curse you, over-priced eBay sellers!), and started somewhere in the $80-range, thinking he had gold, GOLD, GOLD!. Each week it creeps down a bit more . . . soon, $25 . . . -a2a -

Sold to Stan for $40, which included $5 for shipping. I threw in $1.75 of insurance for "peace of mind." Just for clarification, and to protect my reputation on this forum that I dearly love, here is my pricing logic for that original $55 number so that you all don't think I am trying to defraud anyone! Digital Press lists it as $30 loose, no instructions: http://207.234.147.108/DP/cmf/game.cmf?gameid=24316 As does good old atariguide.com: http://www.atariguide.com/2/291b.htm A $68 price at nintendosforsale.com that seemed a little high, but reflective of the top end of the market, was here: http://www.nintendosforsale.com/subterranea-atari-2600-p-12106.html As well, an old Buy It Now from 11/07/2010 was noted in the Google cache for videogamepriceguides.com of $54.00 (link to cached page provided, search webpage for "Subterranea" to jump down; cache will not last forever, prob not be findable by next week . . .) http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:GrCBBSTC9pcJ:www.videogamepriceguides.com/atari-2600/+subterranea+atari&cd=136&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us&client=firefox-a And, then, yes, the pricing list at atari2600.com says "$26.44" for cartridge and manual. Honestly, I consider that list outdated, although it does say "Updated October 2010." As far as I can ever tell, that list appears to be based based off an older pricing guide I once found in text form at atariguide.com that was last updated in 1998, with data from 1996. The atari2600.com pricing appears to have been based on this one, and then lightly spot-updated since then? http://www.atariguide.com/help/AtariAuctionPrices.txt I wish that I could find pricing on atariage.com, but everyone is afraid to put real prices in their postings, and never seem to update what they sold for! The only thing I could find was a sale in January 2010 for the empty box of around $51.53: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/156839-fa-minty-atari-2600-subterranea-box/page__view__findpost__p__1925443 Which only helped me to gauge general "demand" for SUBTERRANEA. So, demand level, plus I figured $30-$35 for just the cart based on all those links, a great set of instructions was worth at least $10, and then the extra pack-ins and brochures, plus my "quality assurance" and expert packing and shipping brought me to $55. Anyways, just wanted to get that all out there and re-assure the community. -a2a

This may upset someone who was hoping to keep it "secret," but a large lot of 2600 games with TAPPER in it just popped up on shopgoodwill.com: http://www.shopgoodwill.com/viewItem.asp?ItemID=7274979 Apologies to anyone who was hoping to keep that one quiet, but we are all watching anyways, so hard to believe that it could be kept on the "down low" for long . . . The bid is now at $34.99, but it ends on the 15th, so I expect it will continue to climb. Good luck to any and all that jump in on that! -a2a
