  1. Thanks for doing this - - that's really kind of you! Any details on what the label will look like? Will it essentially be an exact reproduction? (Of course, with a "REPRODUCTION 2012" or something similar printed somewhere on it!) -atari2atari EDIT: Payment sent, much thanks for being willing to "share your toys!"
  2. VERY stoked - - scored a red Nintendo DS with a case in GREAT condition @ Goodwill! Time to move out my Advance SP . . . now, what's the BEST DS flash cart to get . . . ? :D

    1. Unbeliever

      Unbeliever

If it's an old unit (first gen) I'd get the Acekard2. It's never let me down. :)

  3. Wow, stellar deal, and a great idea for cleaning up my own "loose manuals and things" box! I might have to set up a lot like this, myself . . . Lotsa goodies in there - - someone grab this! -a2a
  4. We'd be sorry to see you go, captain - - it can be a rough crowd sometimes, but once you warm up to us, we're quite a good group. It's the "new people" thing, it scares us. Too many "bad deals" in the past. Honestly, when I first arrived at AtariAge, I hung out for quite a few months, studied all the forums, saw how and what people reacted positively and negatively to, posted a lot of other things in other forums, and THEN I finally made a few posts here in the Marketplace! It's the money/expectation/desire thing in this forum that makes people slightly more sensitive, perhaps . . . I'd just roll with it - - delete this thread, post another with pictures, price and let it ride. OR, just politely defend 'yer plan and leave it as make an offer - - I *personally*, like many others on here, despise make an offer, and prefer listed prices, BUT there is no rule against make an offer, they are perfectly allowable! I think if you read a bit more and browse posts over the last few weeks, you'd see you just arrived at a point and time when there has been a lot of bad mojo with some recent make-an-offer threads! They are not popular right now . . . so, if you want to post one, they have to be somehow worded different or be the right "item" (rare, hard to price, weird, etc?) I dunno, maybe it's just a phase! Anyways, just thought I would throw a little positive spin into this thread . . . good luck with your sale, welcome to AA! -a2a
  5. They are a pretty amazing handheld - - LOTS of great C64 games on there, and a classy interface, too, for selecting them. Jumpman Jr. for the WIN! -a2a
  6. Why yes, actually it does! Radio Shack just sources their switches from the same place that most shops like JAMECO electronics and others do, too. Radio Shack just makes a nice branded bag for them to go in! And, Radio Shack just decided to only carry the red one. JAMECO, however, does have it in black - - http://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10001_10001_315492_-1 And, other switch choices can be found in this narrowed down search (link), too. (Sorry, true-believers, if years have passed since this post was made, and those links are broken, go to JAMECO.com and start your search there) -a2a
  7. Atom bomb? No, worse than you imagined, actually - - an NTSC copy of SHAQ FU for the Genesis! Just kidding - - I have no idea what triggers it, but I don't like it either. I've only run into it a few times here and there on .uk or .jp eBay. I wonder if the seller can set it somehow to have a "restricted" item (even if it doesn't) in order to easily prevent foreign buyers, which some sellers seem to dislike selling/shipping to . . . ? -a2a
  8. Oh, hey, cool - - thanks for taking the time to do that! That helps a lot - - this guy is waiting for some miracle sale that meets his "value expectation," it looks like. I think I can safely put this one in my "not caring" bin, too Maybe he'll get tired and start parting things out . . . not holding my breath, tho! -a2a
  9. Interesting! Once, that I can see - - eBay Auction -- Item Number: 290756678485 Had you seen the same listing before, too, like last year, which falls outside of the available searches in eBay? Curious - - did you (or someone you know) personally made him an offer and have him decline? Always fascinating when people decide to unload these sets . . . seeing that he has listed it before makes me think he is holding out for the best price for his "treasures." The reserve seems to be a good indication of that . . . ! -a2a
  10. It feels to me that we are seeing MORE and MORE of these "I'm unloading it all, buy everything for one price!" sort of deals. Are they getting flushed out of the woodwork by some of the more noticeable ones that make media coverage, such as this European fellow who wanted over a million for his collection (and maybe got it?) - - eBay Auction -- Item Number: 300736846867 - - or is this just the usual ebb and flow of collectors and sellers? Might just be the season, too - - I'm getting ready to begin listing again, myself, after a long summer of doing-other-things (remodeling basement, mowing lawn, etc.) . . . ! Any philosophical discourse on "whole lots" and these sorts of "getting rid of it all" sales is welcome! Always a good topic, I feel. Anyways, to the MEAT of this post - - local Denverite who wants to clear out his VERY sweet looking shelves in one fell swoop, and at a not-so-bad starting price - - Saw it on craigslist at first: Which referenced his eBay listing: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 290766928567 (also captured as images, for historical joy) -a2a
  11. Holy wow! You got BP himself to come over and talk about CoinOps! Nice work, Mark, keep him talking! I've learned more about CO5 and Fantastic in this thread than I have in weeks of cruising the official CoinOps forums! Like you, the FAQs and limited update procedure discussions have not been enough to feed my need for information! I am very much looking forward to CO5. CO4 Fantastic with the 30GB+ of programs I have loaded into it has definitely been my "go-to" system for months now . . . CO5 will be great - - Dragon's Lair support is coming back, for instance! Welcome to AtariAge, BP - - great to have you here! -a2a
  12. Watching "Special When Lit: A Pinball Documentary" - - fantastic! And, streamable on Netflix, if you have that!

  13. The AV cable is the same as the SNES and the GAMECUBE, interestingly! I always had a lot of respect for Nintendo for such clever industrial design move. Personally, I think that the N64 still has a lot of value, as many/most emulators just don't quite properly handle N64 games - - yet. I say "most," as a well-configured setup on a PC will generally do a great job on a lot of N64 titles. There are still a few gaps, though, and so having an original unit around is a good move! I dunno, what do you think, fellow AA'ers - - worth about $40-$60 with the memory pack, power supply, and one controller? -a2a
  14. Well, it's not MY bag, baby - - (obligatory pseudo-English reference to celebrate the Olympics ) - - but I thought someone here might take an interest, so I thought I would post this as a favor! " Vectrex Arcade System + 12 Games - All Original Boxes & Manuals - $450 (Loveland, CO) " http://denver.craigs...3154627439.html It just popped about an hour ago, and it's a new post. Image captured, in case it flies away - - -a2a
  15. Hey thanks for the offer but I'm thinking I might have better luck if I buy the system together with the controllers. Correct me if I'm wrong - but wouldn't it be harder to find the original CX-10 joysticks and the original tennis paddles w/Atari logo separately rather than together with a heavy sixer? I'm a total noob at this, so if you guys think that buying a dirty console and finding the original controllers separate is easier and way cheaper overall, lemme know and I'll certainly take you up on it. Just trying to make sure I achieve my goal above with the least heartache possible. By the way, that BEST ELECTRONICS website is crazy!! More than slightly overwhelming... might just e-mail the owner of that site explaining what I'm after because trying to navigate that site is a beast! Ha! You're not the first, nor will you be the the last, to comment thusly on Bradley Koda's fascinating website! Yes, calling him is best, he can help better in person. Here's a few links to get to the conversation started, though - - http://www.best-elec...ca.com/2600.htm I don't think he lists his Heavy Sixers on the website, but I am SURE he has some in stock. Again, better discussed in person . . . The other person you might want to give a go is our very own LittleJoe (link to profile), who has modded systems, and may have a Heavy on-hand, with an A/V mod already installed, too! http://electronicsen...ed Systems.html You could PM him, too. Regarding piecing it together versus "finding it as a set," honestly most sellers will charge a "premium" for a "complete" set - - although it is likely that they themselves pieced it together for the sale! You might just have to do what all of us die-hard collectors have done - - get your Heavy Sixer "base," and then you keep an eye out, and over the years you get your CX-10 controllers and original ATARI-logo CX-30 paddles as you see them! As they say . . . welcome to the club! You pay a premium for the "pre-made" sets, OR you can sit back and enjoy the "hunt" with the rest of us! It's more fun, and rewarding, than you might imagine! It's always great to finally "score" that little McGubbins you had been searching for . . . -a2a
  16. Welcome to AtariAge, and to the forums! Always nice to have more people on the good-ship-ATARI. I am certain you will find someone who has a suitable unit for you - - I only have one Heavy, myself, and I am somewhat attached to it! I'm actually on the fence on the original CX-10 controllers with the springs in them, though. They are sort of noisy, and not as smooth as I prefer. I'm a big fan of the CX-40s with new "gold-dot" PCBs from BEST ELECTRONICS, instead. Oh, that reminds me, if you have no luck here, BEST ELECTRONICS (link to site) would happily sell you a nice, clean, working Heavy Sixer, too. Definitely worth looking at! Don't be put off by the appearance of the website, either - - content over appearance is the goal there . . . Good luck in the hunt, enjoy your stay, and game on! -a2a
  17. Necro-BUMP just to remind myself I am still here . . . Oh, and . . . Sorry I somehow missed this and didn't reply! Here's a video of one of these mods running on one of the ATARI 2600 Jrs (sorry for NPR in background . . . !) - - (As most of you already know, the "distortion" and rippling you see is an effect caused by the digital camera capturing the refresh rate of the TV during recording! Actual mod naturally does not flicker, but hey, I thought I would toss the video in as a bonus anyways!) http://youtu.be/O70lhBsCC8o And, some screen shots of GIANT pixels, too, if you're into that sort of thing . . . (also running on one of the Jrs.) ! Thanks for looking! -a2a
  18. I think this is what you seek . . . http://electronicsentimentalities.com/Assembled%20Mods.html I have ordered many times from him, and have always been satisfied . . . -a2a
  19. Aww, darn - - I thought this was a listing for the video game HYDRO THUNDER! AX, he's close to you (relatively), you should snap this up! -a2a
  20. Folks usually wait until the last minute (seconds, really!) to snipe, so I wouldn't worry . . . people won't tip their hands until the last possible moment Cool item, by the way - - good luck on the auction! -a2a
  21. Ben himself states he sells such small portables for "$750-$1000" on his blog - - Given the "vintage" of this handheld (an early model), I'm guessing in the higher end of that range? Or is it the other way around, since now he is more practiced . . . ? -a2a
  22. No problem, but like I said, I'm travelling, and I won't be back to the Batcave for another week! Look for it next Monday . . . -a2a do you still have the template? As requested, the static protection templates. - Use heavy cardstock paper to run off the templates; it's a standard 8 1/2" x 11" sheet - Thick aluminum duct tape works great for the static protectors - Cut templates out, tape to the aluminum tape - Use straightedge and XACTO and cut out! Hope that helps someone . . . let me know if the resolution or format is not good. -a2a template.pdf
  23. Ah, what a beauty - - http://denver.craigslist.org/vgm/3115665933.html Not for me this summer, I'm afraid - - I'm refinishing the basement. I'd like to build my mancave and THEN put awesome things in it, rather than the other way around . . . -a2a
  24. No problem, but like I said, I'm travelling, and I won't be back to the Batcave for another week! Look for it next Monday . . . -a2a do you still have the template? Oh, sorry! I neglected to update this, didn't I! I will write myself a note so that I scan the template in tonight and can post it tomorrow. Thanks for reminding me. -a2a
