Sorry title should read "A few questions regarding game carts"
-
Hi and Merry Xmas Have to admit i enjoyed looking through your Rarity guide its a very interesting tool and i checked my very meager collection against it with great interest and now i have a few questions so i hope you do not mind and forgive the large images. I am also located in the UK so i realise there may be N/P video format difference with identification and value. 1: I own a `Frogs and Flies` but it is neither white or black as in your guide but has a silver label,i also looked under `Telegames` but i am unable to find it. 2: I notice variations in the printed copyright text/additional text on the label of some games that i own ,does this change the value of carts in anyway (any region)?.The example i use below is Galaxian-Silver label 3: I was surprised to see Xenophobe (Atari) with such a high rarity value ("7"-ntsc),not so long back i was given for free a box containing an Irish Atari Jnr (Black Stripe along top cover not Silver) and some game carts and was so excited to finally get a Frogger cart (one of my personal favs) i paid no attention to the Xenophobe cart or any of the others as it was just regular stuff.I presume this is the PAL one is it just as rare? Finally while checking my Xonox Double-Ender (Sir Lanceleot/Robin Hood) on your guide i notice it says there is no submitted cartridge image but occasionally visiting the page one has been submitted and is displayed,i have scanned mine anyway just in case as i also need to upload it to another forum. Thanks for any help and i am really enjoying the site

Halo for the 2600 Released at CGE! Download the game here!
R.O.T.S replied to Albert's topic in Atari 2600
I played this for first time this mornning,i like it alot! ,once you learn to keep ducking from one screen to another to reset baddies to their original starting positions it gets quite addictive. It reminded me of Berzerk at times which is a good thing -
“Give them wings so they can fly.”

I am quite sure he does,i would be wearing a black armband too -
I personally do not have a problem with the game and never have even with the realism,A lake or a tar pit seems valid for the jungle i guess, snake and fire too. I would imagine most of the time you see a snake for real it would be coiled up when you disturb it and the fire looks like a camp fire (to me anyway),the tunnels are just a representation that they are below ground and no pit or lake is bottomless so it does not mater

Very nice,is it all working 100%?

It was good on the speccy to be honest, that A2600 screen shot does not exactly look action packed (Crazy)

Combat after you loose the toss and have to play as the bomber when the other guy has the 3planes,you get stuck in a death loop where you aint got time to move out the way lool

Hi Guys I have purchased some games for the eldest lad for Christmas and while he was at school i wanted to test them but in doing so i have just realised that achievement slots have been created and he is sure to see what games i have bought him by looking at the game names, the files without any achievements can be deleted by pressing `X` but it says he needs to be connected to X-box live (which he does not have at this time) is there any other way? If not i will have to tell him as i cannot delete his profile he has too many other achievements on

Looks real good silver, better than green perhaps

Amen to that,i really get some spammy emails from these games and other apps and i am not even a real big user of them, its worth creating a separate email account just for use with FB

Speaking of what console to buy next...
R.O.T.S replied to Algus's topic in Classic Console Discussion
It sounds like the SMS is where your heart lies after all the purchase is going to complete your console collection why get so near and then change direction? I take it you already own a Vectrex then lol? -
Glad you found it, AvP is easily the best title on the system IMHO not sure it is the most collectable title in rarity of course.

Very worrying indeed, children can be quite inventive especially at unplugging something and trying to attach it to something else. It could be anywhere from a plant pot to down the side of a sofa or chair

My newer atari carts are begining to just quit one by one. Is it normal?
R.O.T.S replied to Seaquest's topic in Atari 2600
With my experience in electronics servicing repairing arcade game boards and stuff the ic`s out at that time (TTL) 74 series, cpu`s,Eproms, etc have a life span of around 5 years upwards constant use,you have to remember that the carts we collect although were used a lot when first released are not always used so much today so they appear to have survived 20+ years,i normally find that RAMS have a lot of internal components and so get hot and thus fail then really old CPU`s are second and third bad EPROM`s and ROM`s with old corrupted game code. (static garbage on screen) In some cases i still expect some electrical appliances to fail around the 5 year mark (normally just after a 3year warranty has expired lol) -
If i was Atari i would of demanded Nintendo redesign the cartridge tray mechanism first

Could the Atari 2600 be more powerful than we thought?
R.O.T.S replied to rhindlethereddragon's topic in Atari 2600
I suppose with so little memory available there were tricks in programming that allowed designers to cut corners, how much extra RAM was in Defender II? I remember reading an article not so long back claiming that Pacman on the Atari2600 was so difficult to make that its programmers had to use every programming trick they new to create it,so that it was quite advanced for its time. ,if i come across this hilarious article again i wil add a link to it. -
Atari2600A all black i take it that is a Dark Vader you have? Sounds like a logic fault for sure more RAM related than CPU but never can be sure, something not quite right with the changing display though are you sure it has correct power supply?

It looks a mess whatever it is
