I think you would be lucky to get a sign to be honest, although i am not sure a cart logic,rom code or power related fault is really any better than it being completely dead.Just hope it is carbon deposits on the pins as with most 8-16 bit era game carts.

Yeah i have been watching a friend play the new Aliens game and it is okay but still is somewhat linear as you would expect.Does not have the atmosphere of AVP that is for sure.

I am trying to think back but I may have got trapped once while getting the secret dot to enter the Warren Robinett secret room on game 3,i entered the secret area using the bridge and the bat came on screen and swapped an item for the magnet and pulled the bridge away,it was something like that anyway i am slightly unsure as it happened back in the day.

I am struggling to remember the very first mag,possible Sinclair User or Your Sinclair,CVG and others like Big K were later.

I understand that `The Hobbit` on the C64 takes quite a while although i have read conflicting times ranging from 10-15 mins so i may well try and load it up one day to find out.

This is a question i am familiar with as i was a video games trader here in the UK from 1997-99 and at my stall customers used to watch both systems switched on while on display and ask me why the PS graphics looked better.Of course two completely different graphics engines at work here and the N64 seemed to use an anti aliased method which removed most detail from anything it was drawing,i found this to make most games look uninteresting and made everything on screen look like it was made from icing,marzipan or chocolate but even this graphic style did suit certain things such as the fast moving scenery in Pod Racer,the giant eel in Mario 64 and the snow planets in rogue squadron.So i do prefer the rough cut PS graphic engine as it did at least gave a better impression of detail,texture and that things were actually solid.

Atari 2600,the first games i saw on it back then were Space Invaders,Missile Command,Pele`s Soccer and Raiders Of The Lost Ark

I quite like it but i am not very good at any of the tempest games especially the original.What i like about this version is the music which sort of hypes me up as if the game wasn`t fast enough as it is lol.

Some what doom and gloom but- I foresee another video games crash very similar to the one in the early 80`s,i am glad i gave up with next gen in 2010 and are a pure retro gamer now. I just do not think there is enough variety out there to sustain the industry and some game companies which have become mighty juggernauts are going to suffer big time,online play is obviously a big thing but i even got sick of that,it has made single play shallow and short lived on many games and at £50 a pop who is going to keep doing that?.I think Nintendo in particular are treading on thin ice as this year they forecast their first ever loss in their history due to poor sales in the 3DS and then release another piece of software WiiU,they should learn from the error that Sega made in the 90`s of supporting to much hardware. On a side note creating games for phones and other devices may only help short term as you are only creating the same games as current consoles. Regarding retro gaming, do you think that maybe not the next generation but the one after could see download games only?,so this would mean that software as we know and collect will cease to made in a solid format any more so later over time all existing software will become retro/collectible then either run dry,become faulty,be in collectors hands or for sale at super high prices. enjoy and Merry Xmas

Yeah what a classic i enjoy playing it in any form,Snes,Megadrive,Arcade,C64,pc engine but i also like the Master System version which is a little sparse looking as you would expect but it is the only version to use a shop for the items.

I think Asteroids plays slightly better than the arcade but Space Invaders is probably on par with the arcade as it does have more variations but i find the arcade version has more intense game play. What about Warlords?,the A2600 version is awesome and i played it before the arcade which i was very disappointed with.

Doom is one of my fav games of all time but I confess I played it mostly on the Playstation along with Final Doom,but this did not stop me purchasing it for the Jag when it came out. Of course I remember there being a few differences but I did not mind,this version did create a new problem though as the Jag version of Doom is the only FPS game I have ever played to give me motion sickness. I presume its the refresh rate or something but I have never really looked into the reasons why.

Joust would be the best one in my opinion providing you both become proficient with the hovering technique involved,it is a real pity Fatal Run was not two player as i have always thought that would've been awesome

H.E.R.O I can play this anytime and still expect to be playing it in 20 yrs time (I hope).

I agree with Shadow Squadron (Stellar Assault) it is my favourite 32X game and recommended if you into that space pilot sort of thing, other games have already been mentioned -Blackthorne,Doom,Kolibri and T-Mek.I found personally that T-Mek plays better than it looks and Metal Head the Reverse but that is just my opinion,if you like arcade games like me then i found that After Burner Complete,Space Harrier and Virtua Racing Deluxe will plug that gap nicely. (i am not a Virtua Fighter fan). My biggest disappointment was Star Wars i am afraid,if you play that then Shadow Squadron straight after the difference in play ability is obvious.

I have been playing the SegaCD quite a lot recently and there are a few games i still enjoy just as much today as i did back then which obviously i consider to be the better titles, Final Fight ,Lords (Winds) Of Thunder ,Jag XJ220,Flink ,Android Assault (Bari-arm),Denim (Robo) Aleste ,Sonic CD and Chuck Rock II.I generally avoid anything resembling FMV stuff but would give AX101 an honorable mention,i have just started playing Heart Of The Alien as i never did get to play it back on its original release and as i have already completed Another World i am really looking forward to it.
