I think a 32X is worth getting just for Stella Assault (Shadow Squadron),but also worth a mention Afterburner and Space Harrier if you like arcade games and Blackthorne if you like your Flashback/Abes Odyssey type platformers.Kolibri is okay just unusual which is not a bad thing but Star Wars was a big disappointment for me personally.

Final Fight is a classic! i own an arcade machine of it.I think the Sega Cd version is do-able to be honest and it is not one of these games you have no chance of completing alone but i strongly recommend you play as Hagger as he can grab and then do a spinning pile drive which if i remember correctly can be useful when you are surrounded as you can land on top of other people and knock them away, this saves you having to use your emergency spinning attack which uses energy.

I am a big fan of Phoenix in the arcade and it does look close although the attack patterns look a little crazy but it is the closest i have seen on a home retro machine.
-
I have only seen a few but Bitter Reality was the best i watched,i like the Dragonbobs
-
I agree and are hoping to play the Sega CD version in the next week or so,i have been told that the sound is much better and on the first jungle level you can hear distant drums.

I have fond memories of my old Jaguar Console and sure i could count the number of good titles on one hand but they are fond memories and thats all that matters to me,AVP is still one of the most atmospheric FPS games i have ever played and Tempest,Doom,Rayman and Raiden were all good.I have never heard anything said about the Jag controllers to be honest apart from they looked a little different (which is not a bad thing) and it is still better than both the Dreamcast and especially the N64 controller which was quite frankly so over complicated even an octopus would struggle to use it efficiently.
-
Yeah i like it too,how often do you see a shooter where you can land and hop along on the floor?,made the game more interesting in my eyes.
-
I think the 7800 ported arcade games very well like the Donkey Kongs,Joust,Pacman games,Robotron,DigDug,Crossbow and also Impossible Mission was good, but to choose out of them is difficult but I would have to say Ms.Pacman i think.
-
$2 each?,thats awsome! you have Ms Pacman too which is the cherry on the cake.

At the moment i am collecting label variations as well but i try to keep at least 2 of every version in case one stops working, anything after that is surplus but i do not know anyone else who collects atari 2600 stuff so at least for the moment i will hold onto them.
-
I have trouble with Reactor but that is more to do with the fact i do not know what i am doing more than the game being difficult,Haunted House is a little difficult later on but has a lot of variance so if you keep chipping away at it eventually you will get good item position,i have completed all 9 games but was stuck on game 7 so i had to come back to it.

Asteroids: why 8Kb and then such a bad port?
R.O.T.S replied to highinfidelity's topic in Atari 2600
I think people would be disappointed but not surprised back in the day to discover it was not vector graphics but i have not heard many other complaints about it, it looks nice and is colorful and to be honest i think Asteroids on the Atari 2600 wins with playability -it has to be one of the most playable games on the system in my opinion. -
I have to agree the bat not moving is the oddest of the three observations, the only time he does not move is when he flies past with an item and you have the magnet and capture him.
-
I own a europa-coin kit version of the arcade Final Fight but the board is faulty, shame really its a classic!

lol I also watched and replied to the `Atari 2600 games that dont suck` vid the other day,i still have a few MJ vids to watch yet. -
I agree Berzerk is a real good conversion, not just on the 5200 but also the 2600 and Atari 8-bit computers ,it gets pretty tough later and you find yourself running more than fighting lol
-
Enduro is best in my eyes,i think it plays well and i like the sunset graphics on the A2600 it looks similar to the horizon on Chopper Command,That night time / fog type effect Enduro uses made my jaw drop when i first saw it.
-
I depends really- to me it also can be influenced by how old you are,i am 40 and to me everything up to and including the Dreamcast is retro, after that the consoles seemed to take a really huge step tech wise. Even in 20 years time the xbox,Gamecube and Ps2 will still not be retro to me.
-
I like the Nes and Coleco versions
-
I used to think the game was great for the time and it used to creep me out when playing it as a marine with the lights off, things have moved on but to me it still is the best jag game followed by Doom.
-
It really does look in good condition ,
-
I completed Raiders Of the Lost ark back in the day and all 9 games in Haunted House last year,Riddle of the sphinx is another one which can be completed.
-
Berzerk for a quick blast!,Haunted house if you want a challenge-try completing HH on all 9 games in order. kept me busy for 3 days or so.
-
I always like to keep at least 2 of each type of label variation no matter what it is in case one kicks the bucket,so if i have 3 or more of something it can be sold on.
