  1. Sounds like your looking to play Street fighter 2 or something but want a better controller ;) ,is there no Gen pad around at all that will do the job you want?

  2. It is one of my favourite atari 2600 carts and i finally it managed to find the time to sit down with it last year,i completed it on all nine games but i was having problems with game 7 so after completing games 8 and 9 i had to go back to it and it was another day or so before i managed to get good variance and crack level 7. .

If you want my advice get some paper and do a rough diagram of what doors are blocked on each game level it will save a lot of time in finding your way back to the ground level and exit door when you get all 3 pieces, this is what i had to do with the later levels (and still had trouble with game 7 lol)

  3. Its a nice item and it looks a little worn (used) which is how i like things,i am the same with arcade cabs and most other retro gaming items as i like them to look used and not referbished.

It is interesting to see what this may be worth.

  4. I use a cheap pc multi button analog joypad from `GAME` store, one of those with turbo and analog on/of button.I agree that it should not matter what the joypad is -if its usb and you have selected joystick in mame settings it should work,if not you could try another usb port.

PS of course remember to plug usb joypads in before starting mame or any emulator so it can be detected.

  5. This is one of the most interesting polls i have seen for a while  ,i had to really think hard about it and even replay some games to help me decide.

Straight away i narrowed it down to just five games :-Demon Attack,Galaxian,Megemania,Phoenix and Space Invaders but after deep thought Phoenix gets the vote,i think its a job well done and as it is quite fast paced it satisfies my short attension span more lol

  6. Computer Brand and Model (the computer you were using during 1982/1983 - ZX Spectrum 48K

When did you get it? (e.g., 1979 which could be before 82,83)- First played then obtained one in 83' or 84'.

Did you have a modem? - No.

    Printer? - No .

From your friends of that time, if they had a computer, which computer was that one (at least brand)? - close friends ZX Spectrums but at high school as a whole the playground banter suggested ZX Spectrum 60% / Commodore 64 30% / Amstrad Cpc 10%

    Country? - UK.

If you were in school, what grade? (1-12) or college? or working? or retired? - High School (or secondary as its known now) 1982-87 or age 12-16

  7. It would be way back,i remember going round a school friends house and playing on an Atari 2600 (VCS) for the first time and that would be the early stages at high school (82-87).So it would be in the early part probably 82/83 which means as i was born in1971 that i would either have been 11 or 12.

Good memories though of Missile command,Pacman,Pele`s Soccer,Space Invaders.

  8. I agree with the general cause being too many people appearing on the scene and saturating the market with poor games and i bet some of these people did not last very long either but i agree with Master.P its sort of ironic that now its these lesser known unusual rare 3rd party carts that have some value to collectors.

  9. I have been in that situation but later regretted selling some of my collection when my financial position did get better. :woozy: ,no one can predict the future though and you have to do what you must to survive at the time.
