oh, got ya. you want absolute red/green/blue swatches then adjust the color of the computer there?
-
will do. I have a Sherwin-Williams color book (i do some interior decorating) and i'll see if anything matches. I don't have photoshop but Gimp and Paint.net has that capabilities. give me a day or so to get it together. HLO

I running out of games to put on ti99resources.wordpress.com/ . my imposed rule is that ALL software must have a corresponding manual or some form of useful documentation. I usually find software but no manuals, but here is a list of manuals I have found no software. I think most are ASD&D which were mostly tapes. if you got a .wav file that be OK. here is the list of manuals with no software: 3-D bowling bomb squad Dow-4 gazelle flight simulator (I swear I once saw a copy of this software but can't find it now) interceptor kong laser shield par fore golf quest for the keys stone age TI asteroids Avalon Hill Galaxy (also though I once saw a copy of the software someplace as well as the next two) up periscope War at sea I know my search abilities aren't perfect so some of these may be in plain site, that's OK for pointing that out in that case. PS if looking over the game list on list-of-games and you know of some game that does have a manual that isn't on the list, please post game/manual here too. thanks, HLO

the universal beige and skin ivory look too yellow to me. the bone white looks better. but i can tell you from experience that beige color of the TI is actually a tan/beige and doesn't come out so well on pictures on the web. I actually went more tan for my painted speech to get a closer color even though in the can (picture color chip on top of can) looked wrong. I found both the top section and the bottom section of the TI-99 beige unit are very hard to match exactly.

added under Documents/Hardware a SAMS section (Super AMS) update: added @adamantyr 'crafting a vintage CRPG' to developers under 'other sites'.he goes into good detail on his progress. added TI-99/4a Videogame House - nice list of games, information and trivia for the TI-99 line.

more games added in 3rd party disk: Aztec Challenge, Tennis, Wizard's Liar, Wizard's Revenge, Wit Series of Word Games, Moonbase Alpha 2019

I have Carts-on-disk for the CF7/nanoPEB here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/10djz2wnQJXSuQJO5oXmWedbeTL44MqPW but that's not what you are talking about is it? you're talking about files in TIFILES format for uploading across serial?
-
added and how you doing? didn't we meet at the Austin TI-fest last year and you had the Oeey GUI right?
-
the cartridges are in .rpk format for MAME which is a .zip file of the grom and rom files. export the grom and rom from the .rpk/.zip files will, usually, get you the files you need for v9t9 & classic99. (See the links in the MAME section for details). disk are in .dsk format native to v9t9, classic99 & MAME. phase II of this project I plan to get more hardware-centric right now I'm more emulator-centric because it's what I know. that being said, if you know a large cache of files in TI-files format I'll be glad to setup a section for that. ALSO, if anyone know how to convert from .rpk/.dsk to TIfiles (or a utility) I'll be glad to post it on the website HLO

It looks like 4 banks with 8K ROM and 40K GROM each. I just wanted a reason to use this GIF.

@Keith99er posted another o ne on twitter, it's silver. you know, I come from the Atari 8-bit world a I don't remember anyone modding the case of an Atari. Seems to be a thing more here.

is there a copy of the cart in .rpk format?

thanks for the cool pics!

https://twitter.com/TI99Stuff on Twitter has started a hashtag #PimpmyTI. that's where I got this thing. A ti99 AS A Kerbel Space Controller. A this ORANGE!!!!! one. Did I mention that it was ORANGE!!! And a little fake wood grain always improves the look of anything. NOTE: notice the cartridge adapters and multi-unit that was created for it. Oh, and I do not approve of a beige keyboard on and black/silver unit. THIS on the other hand is a thing of beauty. One of the best looking TIs out there. What can I say, It's mine. And then a TI that went totally over to the dark side:
-
thats interesting. what you saying is kinda go back to the way the TI-99/4 had sidecars but up & down?
-
Interesting. here's my thought on this. get a project box about the right size with curved edges. cut a hole in the side for the edge connector to the console. take the bottom of a speech box and cut/mount/glue in the project box so that the bottom part speech edge sticks out the hole cut so the speech can interface with the console and have a place for the speech mount to. attach the tipi boards to the speech. mount the raspi in the box as well. unfortunately I don't have the money right now (on my list) to buy a tipi and raspi to build this so I don't know if it would really work. but it sure looks like it would and with a silver/black unit it would look really snazzy if done well. so I throw this idea out if anyone wants to try it.
-
beige-ish/tan speech painted and attached.
-
thank for the offer but I have grown fond of the black keyboard in the beige cabinet look. I guess it's the rebellious streak in me.
-
a thought came to me the other day; the old standalone disk drive side boxes for the 99/4, I bet one could fit a speech board, a TiPI memory board and a RasPi all in the box with room left over. wouldn't be hard to find a project box that sizes and mod the innerards to hold the equipment. just how would one emulate that alum silver top trim?

true. I made that cable when I had an 800xl (I had did the resister snip on the 800xl to increase sharpness) and it was OK. but the 800xl does seem to have a superior VDG to the TI-99/4a. Also there is a fix were you put a resister in the line that cleans up the signal somewhat that I haven't added. one thing I meant to talk about this device is the 'best guess'. I found that different flat screen monitors do different conversions of composite, some better than others. the monitors are, essentially, emulating the look of the composite screen as it might look on a CRT. the composite signal is analog but the TV/monitor is digital so it makes a best guess of what it should look like. My Toshiba TV does a fairly good job on my SNES and when I had a 800xl. But for some reason it just couldn't get the TI-99/4a right. (Note: it does look a bit better on my LG big screen but just a bit.) But this box, being dedicated to converting composite to HDMI and up converting it to more pixels, just seems to do a better 'guess' for the TI-99/4a. I have also found it improves the SNES a little bit too. Which means that on another TV/monitor it might not be as big a difference.

haven't noticed any.
