on a related note at https://www.nanopeb.com/
he has a WiFi adapter for the nanopeb that attaches to the RS232 port. is he selling this yet and has anyone bought one?

I know it won't pass through the speech synthesizer. Is that the only reason for the secondary power design here?
there is a mod to the speech were you solder a bypass wire across the board so that the +5 is usable with other devices on the other side. I remember something needing this mod, but I can't remember what it was (oh well). but there isn't enough amps coming across that +5 from to console to run the NanoPEB device.

download the link. it's everything you need to get MAME running with TI-99 including the batch files to attach to cartridges. just add MAME. also check out the section in software under MAME which has links to MAME and some tutorials.

If you insist on painting I would suggest acrylic rather than enamel, as nylon is completely impervious to hydrocarbon based solvents. What it DOES have, is a surplus of hydrogen bonding sites on its surface, however. Heat gently in the oven at 250f for a few hours, then paint with the acrylic paint. I would use the kind they use for miniatures.
I should have thought when you said Nylon, you are right. Nylon can be painted, I have done it successfully, but it does need prep and considerations.

I don't know why someone hasn't come up with a beige case for the speech already. I would think it be a good seller.

I am going to print these, and set them next to my 99 to see how they look. They will not be beige, as I do not have beige. They will be bright electric blue, because that is the color of the nylon filament I have lots and lots of, and can afford to sacrifice.
they can be painted. the beige is a standard Krylon color, best i can remember when I was going to paint the Speech, you can get anywhere. that more tan on the bottom of the console was much harder to find and I found only at a paint store. so if you want to two tone like the console, that might be a bit more challenge and pricey.

I got a beige TI-99/4a with a NanoPEB and really like the looks of it. I just got a the standard silver and black speech syn for it and it looks really bad with the beige TI-99. I thought about painting the speech beige but really don't like that idea. also thought about installing the speech in the case, but that looks too complicated. another idea was to make a new case for it that looks like the Hexbus adapter. no idea how to build one though. don't own a 3-D printer so that's out. thought about cutting sheets of plastic then pasting together but doubt that turnout looking good. Any ideas?

We are having our, mostly, monthly Zoom meeting of the Central Texas Retro Computer Club. It's open to all and has no central computer we cover. this month we will be talking about how PCs can interface with HAM sets. drop by to talk, listen or whatever.
Note: there is a heavy TI99 and Coco2 presence and lots of electrical engineers
talking circuits and stuff.
howard oberg is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

Today added some Myarc docs in Hardware Myarc. They are Myarc Memory card, Personality WDS-100 user manual, Myarc XBII manual and appendices (thanks @blackbox on Atariage for all your hard work) and put SpaceSpace II in the Myarc section (yes I know it's not Myarc) since it's used with Myarc XBII a lot.
Cleaned some misplaced files in the Scott Adams Adventure section. The actual disk with all the games was missing and another file was mislabeled. (thanks @majestyx of Atariage for the catch).

got it, thanks.

I think that's the Cyc copy isn't it? he usually put the banner at the top like that.

DOAH! I had a manual buried away. FYI, there doesn't seem to be a valid manual on whtech anymore. you click on the myarc mem text file and all it has is a dead link on the text. here is a good copy. someone who knows how to upload to whtech upload this please. Myarc Memory Expansion Card.pdf

9 minutes ago, RXB said:Very True the issue is mostly the scads of RAM needed compared to normal XB as GPL is more compact than FORTH for memory saving commands.
Many commands in GPL are single byte commands like MOVE that with 7 bytes can move any memory of any type to any type of any size.
i.e. VDP, RAM, ROM, GRAM, and GROM to any VDP, RAM, GRAM
Even though they still made MVUP and MVDWN for XB ROMs.
I do not think it would be ever possible to be 100% compatible only due to so many quirks XB has and the number of 8K ROMs needed.
the issue that makes MYXBII incompatible is the upgrades to the graphics capabilities. lots of stuff moved around so that all the capabilities of the VDP is used. so to just enable the TI99 do what it should been able to do from the start, access all the VDP capabilities, makes it myarcII incompatible. Same could be said of the 99/8 which myarcII is loosely based on.
as for bugs in myarcII, really haven't run into any yet other than no peek or poke can be used.

sorry, I meant, anyplace where you might be able to get a manual? is he a source for that too?

I was asked by the distributor of my Atari 2600 version if I wanted to do an Intellivision version. I turned it down since I really didn't have the time, at the time. So are you saying someone is coming out with a InTV version?
