  1.

I have one. Can scan it this afternoon evening (did not notice that it is already almost 6pm.)

Actually, a good scan of the front cover might be enough as I was able to get the documentation, that is, if the book isn't too different from what I created.

what I do still need is:

program copy of Comprodine's Backstein, warzone I & II and any others that someone has.

also docs for Titanium, Astro Fighter, Water Works, Protector and Topper.

Also, if anyone has some other really obscure scanned manual and program I would like that too.

When I'm done I'll post the game manuals I have (that aren't from the CYC) in one big zip.

  2. I went to a electrical supply house and got a clear uv florescent lamp, about 4' long, wired it to one of those shop lights and set it on a bench about 2" above the bottom with blocks to slide the chips under. Worked great! Don't ever LOOK at it while it's on! I later put into a separate room and closed the door until done!

how long does it take to erase?

Very cool! I need to look on my Cyc disc for that...

It definitely looks like a planned cover that never made it to production... otherwise we'd see one or two about. The artwork is okay, the monster looks a little too "Alien" inspired for my taste.

My thought too. When I looked at it I thought, 'hey, they ripped off Alien.'

  4. The 'Cyc' has a B/W picture of the new cover that came from a TI Ad kit and a small, poor quality, color picture that came from a brochure TI put out. My guess is that it was never published.

Please be advised that since it's from the 'Cyc' it is copyrighted material.....etc....etc....

  5. gonna need the power supply, or in my case, I did. Mine didn't work without it. I just bought the one he supplies, I think it was only $15.00.

If you go get one yourself be sure it has a very solid +5. Most cell phone type charges aren't very stable.

Also, speech module my cause problems. clean the contacts real good. I had some problems with an old speech module I had because the contacts were worn out. I kept getting memory errors.

that being said, after I addressed these initial problems mine is now very stable.

Also, use TI99DIR to write to it. it's a lot easier than the utility he supplies on his site.

  6. On other Storage, I have a pair of Quick Disk drives (2.8" on Hex-Bus). I'm still looking at the possibility of connecting an IEEE-488 compatible drive to one of my IEEE-488 cards. I also have 720K 80-track drives (5.25" and 3.5") on a Myarc controller, and 320K drives on a TI DSDD controller card and also on a Hex-Bus Floppy drive.

    got a picture of it

  7. Try it without the speech.

There should not be much of a different the GROM emulator all it does it make a few changes in pointers to cause the actual console rom to fetch opcodes from ram instead of grom.

But when you have speech, the way it handles the bus, it shutdowns outside access, freezing the 32k ram from being able to send new opcodes, so on parsec you get periods of frozen flow.

Interesting. I never knew that about the speech. so if the emulated GROM has speech then it will have problems access the new opcodes? Is this only when the speech is accessed?

  8. You got the serial port to allow for old/style serial mouse to work very nice.

And you have mass storage via compact flash 2gb card, just needs a better DSR to allow usage of it like hdd or copy-program-banks into ram via a DSR call, etc.

hard to get a nanoPEB these days. one idea I had was adapting a Atari ST mouse which used the joystick port of the ST. have to get +5 to the thing somehow.

I wondered if the DSR in the CF7 could be redone to see a section of the CF as a HD. would come in handy.
