I got a CF7+ with a printer port. IF you do decide to buy a CF7 or NanoPEB from that guy on ebay who is making them, be sure to tell him if you have a f18a card installed in your TI99. He has to make the card a little different for the f18a.
Also, be sure to get a power supply and have a good speech module. I had all kinds of problems with my CF7 till I replaced the speech module with one in much better shape.

Can anyone beat 95 today?
were hoping for a cooling trend down to 95 here in Dallas. Been 100+ for a few days now.

When I was learning 99 assembler waaaaay back in the day I actually found the line by line assembler rather OK.
Alright Tursi you convinced me, I'll get it.
update:
... wouldn't you know it, finally decide to purchase the Mini-Mem after weeks of indecision and the guy is on vacation and not taking orders now.
-
Actually, yes. From time to time I play a Mille Bourne card game I wrote and working on Uno. If the game can be written with in the parameters of XB or BASIC it can still be a fun game.
-
Does it only work with the cassette, I can't remember. Also, isn't there other programs that do the same as easybug.
-
Is there any reason to own a mini-memory cartridge if you own Editor/Assembler cartridge. I been eyeing a guy on eBay who been selling off about 1/2 dozen mini-mem carts and trying to justify to myself the purchase of one.

great mod. easy to install too.

Anyone ever play Atari 'the Eidolon' with it's crude 3-d cavern. I would think the caverns would be good fit for the multi-color mode.

Sometimes they are not dead and are simply pining for the fjords
If all the above checks have been tried I,m afraid-
Your cartridge is no more, it's expired and gone to meet it's maker,it's a stiff, bereft of life, it rests in peace, it's metabolic processes are now history, it's off the twig, it's kicked the bucket, it's shuffled off it's mortal coil-run down the curtain and joined the choir invisible.
IT IS AN EX CARTRIDGE!!!!
LOL!
for the less cool (and younger) among us, that to which he was referencing.

And, Frogger uses joystick 2 intead of 1.

I don't think that is possible with Joytalk. If I read the circuit properly, and the first paragraph of the article, Joytalk is a serial output device only. There is no serial input capability nor is RS232 pin #2 is connected.
hum, not good. may have to look at it closer.
-
These are neat little devices. Just be aware most programs will be unable to use them since there is no DSR (device driver code) to manage the device at a low level. You'll be limited to whatever program(s) were written specifically to control the hardware...if any exist.
My idea was using the joytalk for a serial mouse, which need driver anyway, and terminal program that could be modified.
Also, not using the power off the video port (I think that looks tacky) but just using and external power supply.

Thanks this link has the full info I was looking for, most other links show the schematics but no legend to know what resistor is R1 or R2.
I you do create the joytalk let us know how it goes, I want to create one eventually too.

Got this on my to-do list. I actually remember this article from, i think, 99er. Had one company at the time selling a pre-made version.

nice setup. you make the joystick?
-
is the multiplan disk copy protected. I tried copying my .dsk file to cf7 and I keep getting, can't find start up file.
Update: never mind, big DUH. The TI disk name needs to be TIMP to work.

Does anyone know if Multiplan 80 works with f18a in 80 column mode?
-
wonder if it could be ported to the TI99?

CF7+ or NanoPEB - which is better?

Maybe I have a slightly newer model or something but when I told him about some of the issues I was having he said I needed to swap it out for one he made for the f18a. he said it was some kind of timing issues.
what was happening was when I turned on the TI99 sometimes it would lock up. when I got the 'f18a fixed' one that problem went away.
