use TI99DIR to create a blank disk on you CF card, say disk 10. in BASIC do a CALL MOUNT(1,10) to mount the disk. In OTHER choose DSK1 to save to. that should work.

Guess I'll never know, I missed the bid.

Got mine in, Fantastic!

There is a 130XE on eBay listed to have a 'Best Heavy Upgrade" and has a toggle switch in the upper left corner of the top of the console. Seller has no idea what it is. I looked on the Best site and found nothing like that. Any ideas?

I would like one if any left.

very cool. I always thought the 40 column mode was under-utilized.

After having mine a while I kinda like the retro-geek look of the PCB board attached to the computer.

gonna need the power supply, or in my case, I did. Mine didn't work without it. I just bought the one he supplies, I think it was only $15.00. If you go get one yourself be sure it has a very solid +5. Most cell phone type charges aren't very stable. Also, speech module my cause problems. clean the contacts real good. I had some problems with an old speech module I had because the contacts were worn out. I kept getting memory errors. that being said, after I addressed these initial problems mine is now very stable. Also, use TI99DIR to write to it. it's a lot easier than the utility he supplies on his site.

4a flyer manual.pdf Don't know if there is a good manual for '4A Flyer' but it was easy enough to create a clean one from the notes that came with the disk. If you have a clean PDF of '4A Flyer' post it here, otherwise, here is one I created.

finished manual for scrabble. If you find a typo, let me know. ScrabbleManual.pdf

What I understand the GPL is laid out into the 32k mem area then the GPL VM is redirected to point to that memory as if it's GPL memory. How it does that????? Gary, Tursi, anyone want to give us a mini lesson on the subject?

Interesting. I never knew that about the speech. so if the emulated GROM has speech then it will have problems access the new opcodes? Is this only when the speech is accessed?

hard to get a nanoPEB these days. one idea I had was adapting a Atari ST mouse which used the joystick port of the ST. have to get +5 to the thing somehow. I wondered if the DSR in the CF7 could be redone to see a section of the CF as a HD. would come in handy.
-
yes, in both cases. my general question is there a difference between the cart use of GROM and the emulated use of GROM. how does the GROM emulators work?
-
I see several issue that would have to be addressed to get a GUI desktop like the one on the Atari. extended memory above the standard 32k on the TI99 is expensive (you have to first get a PEB) and it's hard to get. currently there is no standard for a mouse for the TI99. for a GUI desktop to be useful you really need some form a mass storage, again expensive on the TI99 and hard to get.

thanks. will do.

I played the cartridge version of Parsec and the GROM emulator version (off my CF7) last night and the real cartridge 'seemed' slightly more responsive. Was that true or am I just seeing things? IS there any difference between the two.

Since TI looks like they never created a manual for their Scrabble cartridge here is the cover to the one I'm creating.

http://www.videogamehouse.net/rotorraiders.html any idea who runs this site. the images on the rotor raider has broken links.
-
that's the one. plays a surprisingly good game. took me forever to figure out how to play it. guess gonna have to create my own manual then.
-
Like the cover you made for, what I assume, is a CF7+

I have started filling up my CF7 card with, well, just about everything I have. But one of my pet peeves is having the software and no manual. of the 70+ games I have loaded on the card I am down to just a few I can't find a manual for and like the game. Most are little independent games that, probably, didn't have a manual t begin with. Before I make my own manual I was wondering if anyone happens to have a copy. Here is the list: Driving Demon Tile Breaker (breakout clone) War zone 2 (or whatever version) Rotor Raider Astro Fighter Water Works TI Scrabble (missing on CYC) Q-Bert I have looked in WHTECH, my CYC disk and the web.
