  1. I know it's incredible.... Not too sure on the story. But what I find comfort in is that there are tons more "warehouses" just like that just waiting to be discovered!!
  2. Okay, I KNOW it's futile - but what the heck... I currently own 7 of the 11 Atari Club - Atari Age magazines. I'm looking to complete my collection. Does anyone have any ideas where the best place to go would be?
  3. Rather than Microsoft.... Why not Apple? Cmon, Steve Jobs has to still have a love for the ol' Atari!! What better way to compete with Heir Gates? STEVE COULD PULL IT OFF! The only problem would be prying it out of Infogrames paws....
  4. I'm heading up to this thrift shop that I frequent. The owner called letting me know they got some 2600 carts in. Will go check em out today. Looking for a Riddle of the Sphinx and some carts by Tele-Games. Also looking for the old wall mounted cartridge racks for display. After that, it's to the Arcade!! My buddy told me they were looking to get rid of some coin-ops in their storage!!
  5. Hehehehehe Mark... Luckily there actually are people out there that really are ignorant of the prices of some of the classic coin-ops! I saw a website(wish I cold remember it) where a guy took home a black painted cockpit style coin-op. After removing the layers of paint, only then did he realize that it was an original Star Wars!!
  6. These are the types of stories that dreams are made of... Do any of you have a "hit the jackpot" story? Lets hear them!! This story is incredible. The pictures are enough to make you want to cry! http://www.alsarcade.com/81499Warehouse/index.html
  7. YEP!!! The comb was real popular. What also worked equally as well was the plastic case from a BIC pen held in the same fasion. It's funny, even today, if you come across an old track and field coin-op, the paint is literally worn away from the two buttons!! And for the record, I STILL GOT GAME!!
  8. Grrrrrr....... LUNAR LANDER!! I don't think there was any other game manufactured that could tork me off more that this game!! And the funny thing? I STILL sunk hundreds of quarters into this machine!
  9. Your absolutely right Rob. Now that you mention it, Target fun was the cart bundled with it!! 20 bucks... Yea, I remember saving my allowance and lawn mowing money just to buy Adventure.
  10. SHUT UP!!! I'm just ordering mine!!! How long did it take to get yours?
  11. cough***choke***cough!!!!! HOLY CRAP!!! THIS IS GREAT! Looks like I need to start filling my cart! Now this is something I would like to get into! I currently build mods for FPS games using Maya and other apps. I never thought of doing anything with the 2600! You do know, that you all are going to be the cause of my divorce!!! LOL
  12. By the way, I'm Trusty. Just ran across this site today as a result of a conversation I was having with a friend about Atari's involvment with Unreal Tournament 2003. He thought Atari was back in the mix. (I wish that were the case!). I was gaming back when those UT developers were still wearing diapers! Sheeesh - Now I feel old!! Anyway former member of the Atari Club and proud owner of 7 out of the 11 Atari Age Magazines! I'm glad to be on board.
  13. Yes, as Pac-Man, it reeked. For me, it always had the "unfinished" feel to it. Colors would have been a start. Something else that could have been done at the time would've been to model Pac-Man to move through the corridors rather that always see the same side of him. You know, Dodge 'Em was closer to Pac-Man!! A quick Trivia- The Pac-Man start sound his one of the most heard video game sounds on TV. Watch WarGames. You can't miss it!!
  14. How about Raid on Bungling Bay? I always thought that that game would port over nicely to the 2600...
  15. Well the story behind Pac-Man is pretty interesting. Todd didn't like Pac-Man and purposfully didn't put much effort into the project. Cmon, he could have at least made it the right color. Video Pinball colors would've been closer. So my answer is yes- It could've been done better with the same restrictions. Thankfully a year later - 1982 we got Ms. Pac-Man. I still love it though!!!
  16. Pac-Man hands down could've been done waaaay better.
  17. My first console was actually the Sears TeleGames. If I'm not mistaken, Space Invaders came with that console. I could be mistaken though!!!
  18. Strawberry Shortcake (Believe it or not, I own this cart!!) Haunted House Basic Programming Demons to diamonds I saw someone mentioned Swordquest Earthworld... Your not going to believe this but - - - iN 2002 I FINALLY FIGURED THAT GAME OUT!!!!
  19. Adventure Missle Command Warlords Enduro Yars' Revenge Atlantis Cosmic Ark Combat Chopper Command Pitfall Oh- The names Trusty. Just found this board!!
