no this isnt true you just use a small TTL ic to double the frequency very easy so you can use a 4.43 to make 8.86 but you need to use an ic and the error rate multiplys by 2 so a 1ppm crystal @ 4mhz becomes a 2ppm error at 8.86 so your not right and that guy has the right idea in essence just didnt describe his idea right i think 8.86 is easy to find ten a penny...

sounds like a bad coupling capacitor or the psu isnt so good ie a hum bar ie a bad resoviour capacitor so every few lines youll get distortion try to take a few pics of the inside and the screen you get.. i think replacing a few capacitors it will be aok,,.

you have a filled buffer for video but for hsync signal nothing vsync is ok {this is what a pitcure looks like if hsync isnt right} hsync and vsync are usualy mixed together in a logic ic this is the way older 4-8 bit machines work as hsync and vsync are usualy generated in different areas of there chipset {or single ic} the picture and its framing is correct but the display isnt becouse the hsync isnt there i assume it uses a modulator and rf signal to tv having never seen one or held one.. used one or owned this unit i would sumise its one of the ic's inside has come loose or moreover these older pcb like pong and other bat and ball are single sided pcb that use TI controllers with solders on one side only i recon its either a dry joint around the hsync to the sync combiner logic comes from the video ic.? or a bad coupling capacitor usualy a low value electrolytic that has dried out like a bad battery can you open the unit carefully and take a macro photo of the top and bottom of the pcb i think here pictures speek volumes

Actually the guy behind 250host is free to register as many domain names as he likes and host them with whomever he likes (apart from hosts and services who won't have him due to unpaid account balances). Just because he has an unpaid hosting account doesn't mean he will lose the domain name . He can keep paying the renewals, move it etc. The only way he could lose a domain name apart from it not being renewed is creditors go after him or his business and get the appropriate court orders to dissolve the business, make him bankrupt etc. im sorry ive been in the position of a ip domain admin and i can assure you they have been 'black balled' the mistake people make when adding hosted domain name services to ip's is thinking admins dont talk and share a list of non solvent users its realy a no brainer for sure so 1} his host main host 'trusted ssl' is no longer providing secure domain status in any form 2} he has many issues 3} unpayed bill + interest and prob dudicial court orders served or pending {served in this case} 4} refuses to contact users {withholding data is a federal offence } so the fbi want him this is why liquidweb suggested an attorney and not a lawyer... im sorry you just dont realise u.s.a law in this case and i am sure brian will i will eat my shorts on utube ... if 250 again surfaces in its prepresent form unless someone buys there domain and custom the guy left it just 6 months bills late from selling his domain name and its custom as a going concern to the point it folded...

by reset do you mean hard on and off or reset button push ?? did you try the other scart connection ?? you may find the scart doesnt like something else that's also plugged into it most tv;s auto switch or try to when no signals are there try with scart only in scart 1 socket also some scart plugs auto detect what type of sync etc is to be used this effect you have can also be caused by the psu in an atari where an older monitor isnt you may find that the ste psu's bridge rectifer has become leeky {common fault} and is allowing some ac to trickle into the ground system and may need to be replaced again older monitors this mostly doesnt show a good way to check for psu problems is simply to disconnect the earth to the atari at the plug and try again if there is a psu issue between the tv and the ste it will disappear but dont leave it like this again its a better idea to replace the bridge anyway as ste's psu called phiong type are very nasty ... in design... and use cheep parts that do fail the fact you can reset it several times shows some psu issue if indeed you mean turn on and off the ste... reset button presses indicates it something to do with the way the bravia detects the signal type and alligns its decoders and sizing...

youll probably find the dma ic is dead this is the usual one that goes if you connect a monitor to it it mostly will power on the monitor but it will come up as out of range next check the DE signal to the videl if you have a pulses on the DE pin then check the bus grant chain youl see that the combel has granted the bus to the dma but the dma does nothing you can also look with a scope at the mad bus {memory board pins} what i did long ago was to make up a board that plugs into the expansion slot it uses leds to monitor the address and data bus usualy if the dma is being granted the bus the machines address bus will run to 1111 1111 1111 1000 or less and the address strobe will not run past a few cycles ie the dma is granted the bus but is unable to respond to FC 0,1,2 youll notice they toggle as far a 110 {ie fc 0 is the only one that moves} last two falcons i did that were doa had busted dma and i used that method to varify this before i ordered it dont use a shotgun approch to repair take your time and make some signals charts for boot reset and etc if you have a test cart this is handy and will tell you over the serial port mostly what the issue is if the videl has a problem you can also notice that the yellow drive access led will flicker around in time to the address strobe this is the first test i use to make the board for led tests i use simple project board {vero but not strip board dot board} and lots of 2ma led's {use low current types} each all leds are common and the main 1k resitor is a 1watt type on ground side of the led bank its handy as the port gives other usefull signals for diagnosis and one day ill make a project board for it on ss pcb you need about 50 for signals and address and 16 for data bus + some for data signals ive found in the past photos are handy can you take some macro photos of three areas on the pcb left middle right nice ones in daylight {sun if we ever see it again} ill help you out for sure if you slow down dont replace any more ic's and take your time

i see no option but too restore 4TH dec backup reading between the lines of what liquidweb says i think 250host has failed to pay its bill !! by the tone of the guy thair's words accounts are never private unless they are not in credit its a way for a company to tell another person thair bill has not been payed to them and they have pulled the plug any other crash type would not remove there whole domain even from google cashe so i think 250 will never come back or may have been struck for some other reasons hence the accounts are 'private' and the 'we dont discuss ' strange as they would be quick to answer positivly otherwise... or give more info could be litigation involved only way usualy to silence a creditor or provider so all there data may infact already have been pulled from liquidwebs server...
