I think you can not destroy the FPU with only Hi or Lo over the CS Input ...
One Time I put in the wrong way the FPU and it went very, very hot. After cool down I put it in the right way in and it works fine.

A bigger problem is that I works in the Booster20 with a 16Mhz 020 CPU that I had at home and all was fine.
I buy a new 20Mhz 020 CPU and it work not longer. The Booster20 gave two Bombs at boot. So there is an issue with different MC68020 production mask. I have no Idea, I made only the PCB ...
All CPUs works without any problem in a PAK68/2 ... -

will work. Cards with a PAL/GAL Chip and cards with a Gen/SyncDAC will not work !
