  1. Depends on what you're interested in. Doom 3 BFG Edition -Doom 3 (HD remaster) -Doom 3 Resurrection of Evil (HD remaster) -Doom 3: The Lost Mission -Doom 1 (Ultimate Doom since it includes the episode "Thy Flesh Consumed") -Doom 2 (Includes the episode "No Rest for the Living") Doom Classic Complete -Doom 1 (Ultimate Doom since it includes the episode "Thy Flesh Consumed") -Doom 2 (Including the episode "No Rest for the Living") -Master Levels for Doom II -Final Doom (The Plutonia Experiment and TNT: Evilution episodes) If you're out for classic Doom action, the answer is an obvious one. Doom Classic Complete has everything that Doom 3: BFG Edition includes for classic Doom content, along with the addition of all of Final Doom and the Master Levels for Doom II. So a lot more classic Doom content. The quality of the ports of Ultimate Doom and Doom 2 on Doom 3 BFG Edition for the PS3 are said to be just fine, if not identical to what's on Doom Classic Complete (That's basically what the respected Digital Foundry Retro channel on YouTube said in their big classic Doom episode on YouTube a while back; I personally only have Doom Classic Complete on the PS3 while my copy of the BFG Edition is the 360 version with the XBLA versions of Doom/Doom II included). So it depends on how bad you want all of Doom 3 in HD or the Master Levels/Final Doom.
  2. Just Dance 2020 announced for the Wii. https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2019/06/random_the_nintendo_wii_simply_refuses_to_die No Wii U release this year. Barring the possibility of another Limited Run Games release, it seems safe to now declare physical releases on the Wii U as finished.
  3. Last wave of Xbox One backwards compatible games. Somewhat of an underwhelming list where my tastes are concerned. Xbox -Armed and Dangerous -Indiana Jones & the Emperor's Tomb -Sphinx and the Cursed Monkey -Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell -Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory -Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent -Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow -Unreal Championship 2 Xbox 360 -Asura’s Wrath -Battlefield 2: Modern Combat -Enchanted Arms -Enslaved: Odyssey to the West -Far Cry Classic -Far Cry Instincts Predator -Infinite Undiscovery -Peter Jackson’s King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie -Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands -Skate -Star Ocean: The Last Hope -Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo -Syndicate -Too Human (Free) -Unreal Tournament III Xbox One X Enhanced -Banjo-Kazooie -Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts -Banjo-Tooie -Kameo Elements of Power -Perfect Dark -Perfect Dark Zero -Viva Piñata -Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise Focus will be in getting all Xbox One software working well on Xbox Next from here on out. No more XB1 additions.
  4. On Inside Xbox, this Microsoft bigwig says backwards compatibility will even encompass accessories on the next-gen Xbox platform. Would be nice to see artificial obsolescence lifted for expensive accessories like arcade sticks and steering wheels.
  5. Atari Flashback Classics is awfully tempting.
  6. A fresh wave of announcements may be about to happen. Three original Xbox games have had listings added to the Microsoft store and MS has teased some BC announcements for an Inside Xbox episode later today. Armed and Dangerous Indiana Jones & Emperor's Tomb Unreal Championship 2 And keeping in line with the previous additions, all three were Xbox 360 compatible.
  7. If this is fully backwards compatible with retail discs for the original Xbox, count me in. Media speculation is that it will be full emulation, avoiding the annoying legal hassles and added work necessary to bring original Xbox and Xbox 360 content to the Xbox One. Microsoft though was a bit vague so nobody should hold their breath about it. I could easily see it just being full Xbox One backwards compatibility, with the Xbox One's limited (But very well done) selection of 360 titles and the small original Xbox lineup being how they plan to get away with describing that it has support for four generations of Xbox software.
  8. Sadly, it's not directly available. The one possibility is if Doom Classic Complete for the PS3 is available for the Playstation Now streaming service. But I don't see it being a good fit for streaming, so I doubt it's worthwhile for all but the best of connections.
  9. Supports original cartridges, has HDMI output, and includes four controller ports. Rendering resolution appears to be native rather than the 480p that Nintendo offers with emulated N64 games, sadly. https://youtu.be/6PRbKGuIC_w Going to be tough to get this one close to correct (There's at least one emulation error just in the teaser video), so I'm surprised to see this. I wasn't aware that desktop PC emulation had even advanced to a point where compatibility and accuracy was more than a hit or miss proposition, so I'm not sure how this will yield satisfactory results.
  10. Explains the cartridge slot doors being operational. Very nice little touch (I wonder if there's any hope they'll hit western shores?). Personally I'm not too thrilled by this most recent reveal even though it's a solid slate of games and overall an excellent lineup. But I do think it's nice to see an Electronic Arts game in there since they were such a high profile Sega Genesis publisher in the west. I just would've preferred to have seen it be Desert Strike. And it seems a shame to not see a single Sega racer here. No Outrun, Outrun 2019, Super Monaco GP, Virtua Racing, Super Hang-On, etc. If I buy one and it's hackable, I'll have to fix that oversight.
  11. Hadn't noticed it before, but the Red Cross symbol on the parachutists in the recent Arcade Archives release of Time Pilot indeed is gone. Just a plain white parachute.
  12. A possible hint for one of tomorrow's games. https://twitter.com/SEGA/status/1135199392271622145/photo/1
  13. Since I assume the full list has to wait, I was wondering if there will there be any pre split Atari arcade games here that weren't included on the three console Flashback releases? I love the black & white era and there's even a few color games without obvious licensing issues like Food Fight that missed the cut (Although that one with the analog style joystick might be tough to include).
  14. Tough to pick 10, but I'll try. Outrun Outrun 2019 Desert Strike Roadblasters Formula One Mercs Granada Twin Cobra Fire Shark Vapor Trail I'm not going for a realistic list here, just a personal wishlist. Outrun 2019 and Mercs are probably the only two with a chance.
  15. Darn, I was hoping there was a workaround. It's especially annoying now since the OS apparently has gotten so bloated that it doesn't work so well doing this. It hangs and often freezes for 30 seconds all the time for me in my download history trying to queue stuff up. Makes an already tedious process an extremely annoying one, so I'm just doing 5 or 6 games at a time each time I fire the system up. I'm glad the 360 OS otherwise seems to still perform well past that and a bug I doubt ever gets fixed that makes Xbox Originals and delisted games incorrectly show up with generic artwork in the My Games section. I want to do what you said and start taking these offline in the future, but I still have a few more things left that I want to buy. Getting pretty darn close though and the recent backwards compatibility sale got me a few games closer to my goal. I bet even at full price, I'm under $100 away at this point if I ignore movies I want to grab on the video store that are in HD and not on Blu-Ray.
  16. I don't know about the 2018 Genesis branded system, but the Legends Flashback with the same guts and emulator can play Master System games (And Game Gear). And it also plays SG-1000 games, although I think I changed the extension on those to .SMS to get them working.
  17. Digital Foundry Retro did a video on the Castlevania collection. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LozO3fgnup0
  18. Nice to see NES Contra escape the vault again and the regional variations, including even the modified PAL versions, is a great bonus. But by my count, I only seem to see seven games here? Contra - Arcade (US/JAP) Super Contra - Arcade (US/JAP) Contra - NES/FAMICOM (US/JAP) Super C - NES/FAMICOM (US/JAP) Contra III (US/JAP/EURO) Contra Hard Corps (US/JAP/EURO) Operation C (US/JAP) A bit curious. While I wouldn't say I'm sad not to see Contra 4 since I never thought it was a realistic hope even though it would've been great to see, I'm surprised not to see the 2nd Game Boy game that was an adaptation of the SNES game to bring us up to 8 games. Heck, there's even Contra Force, although opinions are very much mixed about that one unlike the popular pair on the NES. And while I wouldn't make book on it, it's getting me hopes up ever so slightly for a HD collection of M2's Konami 'Rebirth' games to see M2's own Contra Rebirth absent here just as Castlevania Rebirth was. Those three paired perhaps with the unreleased Jackal Rebirth would make a nice little collection, so hopefully it's not here for a very good reason.
  19. Wanted to tie all my downloads to what I'm now using as my primary 360 system, so I initiated this through the Xbox 360 dashboard. I figured it would be a simple process today unlike the last time I did this back around 2007. Back then, I annoyingly had to go into my download history and manually select to redownload each individual item to tie each license to the replacement system that MS sent me. Was a pain even back then, even though nothing actually is redownloaded as long as it's already on the HDD. Anyways, it's prompting me to do the same stupid step, just weeks after I slowly had gone through my entire download history to redownload everything (And the list is a much longer list in 2019 than it was in 2007). While in hindsight I should've did this step first before redownloading all my past downloads in the past month, is there an easy way to tell the system to just attempt to redownload everything in the list? Seems like this should be all automatic in 2019, with my content licenses transferred just by the act of initiating a license transfer.
  20. They're down. The online services for it have been discontinued. We're still teased by Sunset Riders being previewed as coming soon. A real shame that classic, which was the last game in the last game pack to get announced, never made it out thanks to the troubles with Krome. And in 2019, I'm not sure it will ever make it out in emulated form anywhere. Already seen a longplay video on YouTube for instance where the uploader was "protecting" his viewers by cutting out an entire level in this cartoony action game set in the old west, since he had deemed it offensive.
  21. To add to what's been said, here's a useful list of Wii and Wii U releases that supported Wii MotionPlus. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_games_that_support_Wii_MotionPlus If it's not on here, it can't take advantage of the added capabilities of a Wii MotionPlus equipped Wiimote.
  22. My issue was a non-issue in subsequent loads. I don't know why it took so long attempting to connect to servers a few days ago when I played it for the first time on this particular system (And the first time in several years I've played Game Room on any 360), but it now gives up attempting to connect in a reasonable amount of time.
  23. I don't think I'd like that on the Switch for NES games. A Y/B option is needed, so hopefully the patch includes reconfigurable controls. What's NES B/A mapped to on the Xbox One and Playstation 4? Hoping it's X/A for the XB1 and Square/X over on PS4.
  24. Off the top of my head, I think this is my 7800 top 5 list of commercially released 7800 games from back in the day. Asteroids Centipede Commando Food Fight Pole Position II Mario Bros. just might bump one of these, if for no other reason than just sentimental reasons (For quite a few years after getting a 7800, I only owned that and Pole Position II). But there's obviously no point in listing that one or any Nintendo property, where as all these other releases are either owned outright by Atari or involve parties AtGames has already worked with in past Flashback products (Capcom and Namco). Pole Position II has a bit of a bad name at classic gaming forums these days, but it's still a really nice effort and would've been really well received had it appeared when the system was meant to be released. Was a bit dated I suppose in the age of Rad Racer and such, but it was still a good pack-in and I suspect is well remembered by 7800 owners from back in the day.
