  1. Was reading some old posts of mine just now as I was looking for something, and came across this gem from several years ago. "FPGA's place in the classic gaming world probably won't go past hobbyist and homebrewers." Not one of my better predictions.
  2. Did you get an order confirmation e-mail earlier this month? Should have tracking information in it if it's like mine, despite the title saying "Limited Run Games Order Confirmation". If not, perhaps it's because you got in on the second run of it. Ironically, Limited Run Game's e-mail notification to me that this had shipped arrived in my inbox at 6:51 this evening, over 7 hours after UPS tracking data says the package had arrived at my address. The package actually had been sent out on April 4th, so not a very useful notification that the package had been sent, lol. Almost as bad as the last time Nintendo repaired my Wii U and shipped it back. As I recall, the tracking information e-mail came something like 10 days after my system had already been delivered at my house. Doesn't get much more useless than that, lol. On the bright side with this initial experience with Limited Run Games, despite a proper box appearing to be an extra-cost shipping option and their belated e-mail notification to me this evening, Axiom Verge was shipped not in a flimsy bubble mailer, but in a sturdy box. Arrived safe and sound in pristine condition.
  3. These started shipping a few days ago. Mine got here today a day earlier than the tracking said it would.
  4. Donkey Kong 3 this week. http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2019/04/arcade_archives_donkey_kong_3_blasts_onto_switch_this_week
  5. Sad to hear that, but look forward to hopefully future releases down the road. Is Code Mystics handling emulation for the arcade machines, or is that something you can't discuss yet?
  6. To add to that, I briefly watched a YouTube review and he said all the games were on the disc.
  7. No support for original Colecovision accessories.
  8. As neat as a NES core would be, I'd be surprised to see that since a cost reduced NES system doesn't sound all that unlikely down the road. Allowing every Super NT owner access to the NES core would lose them some sales if that comes to pass. But no arguments here if it did happen. A Game Boy/Game Boy Color core seems like it might be less likely to negatively affect future sales of an Analogue system since it's tough to see a consolized Analogue Game Boy ever happening. Maybe some day when Kevtris gets a breather and gets bored since he surely doesn't know what free time and relaxation is at this point, Super NT owners will be pleasantly surprised by a new update with something neat like this or NES support.
  9. That was only with last year's HD system. While the paddle library was relatively small, it's a disappointment for sure that the otherwise solid FB9 doesn't support them (I've had few issues with mine, although build quality for joystick #1 with the extra system buttons seems very lackluster for my one major complaint). But since the start of the AtGames Atari Flashback line and most of the history of their Sega console line, Atari compatible joysticks and Sega Genesis gamepads have been supported out of the box. That very much wasn't a bad thing with the AtGames system, even if non-primary controllers weren't always supported (I don't think the Indy 500 driving controller even works on modded Atari Flashback 2's from before the AtGames era, and those were high quality products in the opinion of myself and many others). So to see them not be present here is the one negative I see with this successor so far. Hopefully like Defender_2600 said, it will work with those officially licensed Retro-Bit Genesis USB gamepads (And hopefully a wide variety of generic USB controllers). And if it's successful, I'm sure we'll see things like adapters for original Genesis controllers from Ralphnet, 8BitDo receivers, etc. But I'd still be happiest to have seen the genuine deal be present here.
  10. Any compilation plans this year from AtGames/Code Mystics? I've enjoyed last year's Atari Flashback Classics Volume 3 and would love to see another arcade compilation of golden age arcade classics from the late 1970's and early 1980's. Tons of classic arcade games on modern platforms, but other than the Atari Flashback Classics line, my favorite era has been terribly underrepresented this generation. A few gems here and there like Moon Patrol and Vanguard, but not an awful lot.
  11. Digital Foundry Retro posted their review. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZCQ6kN9Ie0
  12. What hardware do they still make? Last I read years ago on KLOV, they don't even do in-house arcade manufacturing anymore. I'm interested in this thanks to the M2 connection, but I think $60 or so will be the cut-off point for me with the Mega SG already out there. And even then, if I can't plug in alternate USB controllers, I'm not so sure I'll bite. I don't like the idea of a plug and play system being completely useless if the controller fails, with no easy way to source replacements short of rebuying the entire system used off Ebay or the AA marketplace. People give AtGames flak and a good bit of it was well deserved, but including original controller ports is one thing they did well at for many years. Even years ago before their improvement drive a couple of years ago finally started to bring real enhancements to their Sega and Atari lines, they'd almost always have original controller ports on their console systems. Should be here even if it they weren't to scale with the rest of the system.
  13. Six more have been announced. Fantasy Zone (Arcade) G-LOC Air Battle (Arcade) Herzog Zwei (Genesis) Puzzle & Action: Inchidant-R (Arcade) Shinobi (Arcade) Wonder Boy in Monster Land (Arcade) Definitely in for G-LOC and a few others will tempt me here even though I already have good ways of playing what interests me in it. A bit disappointing not to see Turbo Outrun, but hopefully in the next batch. I'm a bit confused about this unveiling though, since Virtua Racing will only be the 11th release in wave 1. Wave 1 was supposed to be 15 games.
  14. Sounds like M2 is handling the emulation for the upcoming Sega Megadrive/Genesis Mini. And interestingly, Castlevania Bloodlines is one of the first 10 games that Sega has announced. Hopefully a good sign that they're courting some of the higher profile 3rd party properties. Would be nice to see Contra Hard Corps, Mercs, and Ghouls 'n' Ghosts here for some of my personal favorites. I still wonder if AtGames is involved here. It seems like their knowledge of the plug and play market and their retail connections could still be valuable to Sega for getting this on store shelves in North America later this year.
  15. Has it been announced? I was hoping to see it, but didn't think it would make it out over here.
  16. Any idea how long the second batch stuck around? I'm happy to see it's sold out right now.
  17. I wonder now if this sellout means we'll get Battle Princess Madelyn, if the sales here are performing so much better than expectations. I guess LRG has said that other Wii U releases are possible and that one is still coming to the Wii U eShop (and LRG published or is going to publish it physically over on the PS4).
  18. It took a while to sell out this first order window. I was away for a while and didn't see it sell out, but it was still at about 5% stock remaining at about the 17 minute mark. Was this fast for a Limited Run Games release? Or about par for the course for something that isn't shovelware? I had it in my head that there would be about a 5 second window of opportunity here.
  19. I believe M2 also added the feature for their 3D Classics port on the 3DS and the Sega Ages release on the Switch.
  20. Sounds less than ideal. I hope the success of the Super NT isn't going to their head. People buying an expensive niche classic gaming item of high quality expect customer support commensurate with that investment. And with shipping fees like this, it's also fair to expect a solid job at that end as well with few mistakes, speedy shipping, and proper packaging. It's not a $50 Genesis-on-a-chip from a company like Retrobit that we're buying here. I wonder why they just don't let us swap the buttons? They were shipping entire replacement motherboards out for the Super NT in the two instances I saw when a system was DOA. Replacement buttons would seem to be trivial by comparison and would appease those bothered by this at a minimum of expense for Analogue.
  21. Travis, the arcade original of Outrun was only included in Outrun 2 on the Xbox. It was removed from subsequent iterations of the Outrun 2 family. Another good reason to still grab Outrun 2 are the unlockable bonus tracks based on Sega Super GT and Daytona USA 2, which also weren't included in Outrun 2006 Coast to Coast.
  22. Most Intellivision games play just fine with 8 directions and I assume he has one of these for keypad functionality.
  23. In an era of $5-$10 per game prices for emulated classic games, it's actually on the cheap side. $2.50 per game. And like you said, there's always sales. Won't be hard I bet with a bit of patience to get this these packages for ~$15 and later on, even $10.
  24. As stated in the link in the first post to Konami's own site about this project and in several postings on the first page, it's a digital exclusive. For instance, the Arcade Classics page states under the April 18th release date that the price is $19.99 and that it's a digital only release.
