  1. "instead of porting a 16 bit game to a supposed 64 bit system, why doesn't someone actually try to make a game that doesn't look 16-bit. CARTRIDGE GAME. " Unless I'm missing something, this thread has nothing to do with developing games. The work on this one was done a decade ago by a game developer I gather, and the thread's here to judge interest in it if it ever becomes possible to legally sell copies of it (Like was done with Skyhammer for example).
  2. One of the switches is labeled Flashback or Cartridge.
  3. This is the first I've heard of this, where could I get some videos and screenshots?
  4. "No, that's actually the least user frinedly. MESS is probably the only one remotely easy to use, but I dont remember if Super PacMan works on it or not. " Wasn't when I tried it a year ago. MESS is completely confusing and I never got anything working. And I've been able to get ZSNES, Nesticle, Z26, and Handy working without any troubles.
  5. Isn't it the original design that was released in Japan at the Saturn's launch? I thought the US got a redesigned one at launch before eventually switching to one like Japan had? if I'm right you could say it was the original design?
  6. "B-52 but then you need the Intellivoice" You got the wrong bomber. B-17
  7. They've never had Digital Eclipse do it before either. I imagine these are emulated on all the just released versions, except for the GBA one. Though that's just a guess. If they are ports, they're pretty well done judging from all I've read.
  8. Anyone know how the Xbox version sounds? Won't matter to me much, afraid I only have a few hours worth of playtime on the actual arcade games for about half of the collection. Doubt I'm experienced enough in any to notice except for perhaps Pole Position II.
  9. What are you comparing to to notice this, your memory? MAME? Might be your tv set, or maybe your PC that you're loading the roms up in to compare with. I imagine it's close enough most won't notice it if there is an issue.
  10. I wouldn't get too excited yet unless you're willing to import it. Heard nothing about a US release yet. Why all the one system stuff, it's been planned for PS2/Xbox all along, not just one. Edit-I just checked EB's release list, looks like its a go for the US for both consoles.
  11. "What you are telling us conflicts with what Curt Vendel is telling us. Where are you getting your information?" That was my understanding as well, I thought he said they pulled some off the line for testing and discovered the issue and corrected it, and that only the ones Wal-Mart has been selling early would most likely have the sound issue?
  12. I thought Activision Anthology for the PSP was already planned and in development? Been on IGN's release list forever. I'd like a DS version.
  13. That doesn't make much sense Sega_master. It all depends on the individual game, not the hardware.
  14. Well the cart was full of little random things from the toy section with no one around, and a lot of the shelfs were empty or having stuff moved around. So I think it was okay.
  15. My dilemma is I want the 400 dollar model, but I also want a wired controller and would require composite cables until I can upgrade to a hd tv in a few years hopefully. But I also want a harddrive which rules out the 300 dollar model, especially seeing the price you just said to later upgrade to a hd. Neither option fits my situation very well. Thanks for the reply.
  16. This is probably a dumb question, but will people that buy the 400 dollar model be able to buy wired controllers too, and will people with the 300 dollar model be able to later buy wireless controllers and install a harddrive?
  17. Wal-Mart didn't have any left on the shelfs, said they were out. And as I was wandering around I saw this cart with random stuff in it (Like they always do when they go around the store picking stuff up that's out of place to restock it), saw one in it and grabbed it. Mine has the usual issues, the Atari Centipede instead of the GCC version, and no Quadrun sound. Impressed by the joysticks, video quality sucks though but I think its my tv.
  18. Wish I knew how to add games to my CC2 file that I downloaded off this message board. Maybe it's time to learn so I can play this.
  19. Judging from the game selection of the Flashback 2, do any of you really think they're done with the 2600 just yet? I wonder if they could be doing two projects (8bit, and another 2600 one with a way to use SD cards or something similar, and maybe paddle controllers). If Flashback 2 was it for the 2600, I would've thought that we would've at least seen all the 2600 games we got for Atari Anthology on it.
  20. "That is basically it. One of the most famous results of frying is what happens to Space Invaders. The game remains playable (variation 1 only) and you can fire two shots simultaneously rather than just one" You can do that without frying it I believe. Don't think it's a bug, think that was programmed in. Don't you hold down reset or something when you power up the system to get 2 shots? (It's been a while since I did it).

    S-Video?

Songbird has them if you guys don't come to a agreement above. http://songbird-productions.com/
  22. I've heard the Pole Position tune before from the arcade game. I'd like to get the Ms. Pac-Man 2600 tune for mine.
