  1. I remember a Apple II game I used to play in a school computer lab that was basically set on a mountain, there was a ski lift at the top of the screen, a river running down the middle, a waterfall at one end of the river, and a dungeon type thing at the very bottom of the screen. Anyone have any clue what game that was? I also remember playing Odell Lake and Oregon Trail a lot.
  2. "The PC version of the Activision Anthology Remix is great, but I will not be going for it on gba, solely because they cut Demon Attack (from gba as well as PS2). " Its on my Activision Anthology disc for the PS2. Or do you mean they cut those from the PC Anthology even though they were in the PS2 and GBA(I assume) versions?
  3. "I figured something might be broken in the cord, but when I straightened it out it worked fine. Are you sure that having the cords wrapped up when playing vs. having them loose won't affect the gameplay?" Its broken I'm afraid. That's the sign, if you're able to move the cord around and affect its ability to work, there's a short somewhere.
  4. Definately interested in both, though I'd prefer to see this, "On the other hand, if this was a Colecovision equivalent of the CC2, I'd be all over it. ". A Colecovision type CC2 would be great.
  5. TrekkiELO, the Indianapolis 500 license from IMS isn't cheap (Plus I think Codemasters has an exclusive license), so I doubt that will ever happen (Though maybe it could be renamed?).
  6. "how would i hook up a new vcr to an old tv that only has vhf and uhf screws to connect to (2 screws for each) on back?" Buy an adapter that will convert the coaxial cable thing to 2 screws. I have several hanging around here, probably 5 bucks at Radio Shack.
  7. Who's to say Video Olympics isn't included also? I like the idea of modern 2600 ports of classic Atari arcade titles that never were ported over 25 years ago. So I'm happy to see stuff like this, I just hope someone figures out how to extract the roms so I can also play them on my CC2 besides just the Flashback 2.0.
  8. Desert Strike, Jungle Strike, and Urban Strike are all great games.
  9. "I wonder which version of Pac Man will be packed in. Sure would be nice if one of the hacks of Ms Pac Man was in there instead of the bonk-bonk-beep version. Most likely Ms Pac or Jr Pac will be in there tho." Atari has relicensed some of this stuff to use? I hope its true.
  10. "How hard is the CC2 to set up and get rolling after you get a memory card?" Not hard, worked for me my first try since someone put their CC2 image up here for download, all you have to do is copy it on to your MMC card and be sure you hit eject before removing it. Manually adding in games seems to be harder, I haven't got stuff to work for me yet, but I've only spent 15 minutes or so on it so far, and most here don't seem to have problems. "How annoying is it to download games and navigate the menu?" Not sure what you mean by download games, there are plenty of rom sites to download them from (AtariAge has most all of them, and you can find stuff like the Activision and SuperCharger roms in the CC2 file someone posted in the big CC2 thread that you can copy on to your MMC card, and there's a link in that thread for the appropriate 7800 roms too), and while copying them over to the MMC card takes some time, it gets faster if you just add individual games later rather than putting them all on it again whenever you add one. "Do the games play just like they are supposed to? Yes, they run just like the real carts, outside of some loading time that takes a few seconds when you initally load a game. I believe the multi load SuperCharger games load quicker than they did in their original formats as well. "My 7800 successfully plays Space Shuttle, Pitfall II & Decathlon (and I'm eagerly anticipating the arrival of my Robot Tank) which I have the carts for, so the general incompatibilites should not be a factor, but are there any other incompatibilites?" Nope, you should be all set, besides Pitfall II that can't be ran off the CC2 "And does it run the EXACT same way as the original carts, or is there a difference?" Besides a small initial loading time, yes (Improved in the cases of the SuperCharger titles). I guess its almost instant now with the improvements that have been made to it in the past few days. I have a few questions though for others that may see this. Pielades doesn't run right for me, I shoot and see three shots going up into the air spaced horizonally evenly apart, and can't see my base, and the graphics aren't quite right. Any ideas? Got it from the CC2 image posted in that other thread, and other games work fine. And is there a way to return to the game menu without wearing out the power button on the console each time I want to change games?
  11. I'm not worried about the battery issues, I mean stuff like the video quality and feel of the controls that he mentioned. I don't plan to be using stuff like Activision carts in it if I buy it, doubt that would work very well (They seem to be real cranky for me and don't like even moving the system when playing them, unlike first party Atari carts). I'd like to buy one of those Krokodile Cartridges sometime if I do buy that.
  12. I hope Ben Heck happens to see that. and addresses that post. I can't be the only one that is considering buying one, but is worried after reading that.
  13. There is no Army Men RTS 2, and Army Men RTS was one of the last, if not the last, PC Army Men game to be released. Nice game too, though online got boring after being really fun for the first 20 hours or so.
  14. It depends on the game. I think simulation style titles such Silent Hunter III or flight simulators like Pacific Fighters for the PC are more history lessons than anything. I'm not a fan of stuff like Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, and other titles, for the reasons you stated.
  15. I must be missing something, I never thought it was fun, especially the portions where you have to attack the enemy ships or whatever they are in space. The graphics on the planet are impressive though. I fired up Tapper the other night for the first time with the CC2. How come games like that seem to be ignored here (I was amazed, seems like a great port of the arcade game), but Solaris is so great? I guess I never got into Star Raiders, Starmaster, and Star Voyager much.
  16. I haven't figured out how to add games to it yet (Downloaded the file that was posted here and just put it on the MMC card). Don't think I should be trying this anytime soon.
  17. Even if you used the Flashback 2.0, where would you get cartridge ports to use on a handheld? Wouldn't you have to still rip apart old Atari's to get that part?
  18. Looks really nice, I still wish more games were included though. Such as Jr. Pac-Man, Super Pac-Man, Pac-Man Plus, Pac-Mania, Galaga '88, Galaxian 3, Pole Position, Pole Position II, Super Xevious, Solvalou, and other Namco classics (Some of which were included in the PSOne collections). Looks like they've made it into a great product, but with some additions it could've been really special.
  19. Nintendo did that themselves JB, along with reissues of its players choice lineup while Majesco produced licensed SuperNes rereleases of 3rd parties.
  20. My cat Tiger loved Super Mario World. He'd ever try to bite Mario on the screen. Never paid attention to anything else, including Atari games.
  21. chrisbid, lots of us don't have that option. There are only chain stores for many miles around here for example.
  22. That C&C Collections doesn't have the first Red Alert or the original C&C, and good luck getting either one working on a modern PC using XP and such. I sure can't.
  23. Makes sense, I should've realized what it meant.
