I'll give it a try, but I thought it was difficult to do.
-
Maybe I'd just remove the tabs, that's how I play my common games like Ms. Pac-Man and Pole Position II.
Not sure I'd want to when it cost 200 dollars though.
-
My 7800 had one of those tabs inside 7800 carts break off and get stuck, and I can't get it out of the cart slot.
Do these have those, or would this interfere? If it doesn't (I sure can't get it out), I'd be interested in one of these.

Whatever happened with Activision Anthology for the Xbox? I thought that was going to happen?
-
Sega Classics Collection for the PS2.
-
Is Spectre VR the same as Spectre?
I got a Spectre for the SuperNes, no VR anywhere. Its not a bad game.

I'm confused.
Is it spelled that way but pronounced Thompson? Or are the people like myself that thought it was Thompson just 100% wrong?
How well do the Hitachi/LG drives perform, are they reliable and read things like cd-r's?

Don't want to hijack this thread, but I don't want to start another one either with a problem that would fit in here.
I have a store real copy of Hydro Thunder that was bought online used. It loads up the intro screens, but when I try to enter the game I get just 3 odd looking icons or markings at the top part of the screen, and only one button on the controller seems to do anything (Makes a beeping sound when I press one). Also it says converted by Eurocom on the cd, is it possible I have a European version, or were they just the ones that ported the arcade game over? Says licensed by Sega of America or something like on the cd, so I'm doubting it. Any ideas? The DC plays everything else I have fine, perhaps its one of the 9/9/99 copies that were bad?
Also my Crazy Taxi game plays fine but during gameplay there's a warning at the bottom of the screen about a disc error and that it might be scratched or dirty, yet the game plays?

Thought I was wrong for a bit.

Must be everyone looks at that site that illustrates the 3 different DVD drives and copied the guy's several spelling errors.
Oh and is it true that some Xbox's are now using a 4th different kind of DVD drive? Saw something about that over at IGN or Digital Press.

I thought it was spelled Thompson?

I'd rather play the originals, but I'm missing around 10 Activision titles still.

Got one of those new model PS2's recently and Activision Anthology.
However I can't turn the music off. Don't care for the music, and even if I did I don't want it playing while I'm playing a Atari game. I turn the volume down all the way and save it, but the next time I play the music's back on though the volume is still all the way down.
Bug, or is it some strange problem resulting from the redesigned PS2? Thinking its one of the numerous bugs in the game, such as the missing Pitfall sound, Beamrider starting at the wrong level, odd collision detection for Sky Jinks, strange things that happen with the unlockables (Not unlocking when they should, unlocking for no reason at all, etc.), etc.
Its annoying me, any other way to disable the music? I like it playing before I start a game, but not during a game and having to reset it everyime is annoying.

Thanks, that did it. That's also the way to play Tank AI I discovered (Bonus section once you go into Combat).
-
How to I access Tank AI and the 2600 Temptest proto?
And is Temptest Tubes included on the Xbox version (Was in the PC version I think)?
-
I've really had some fun playing Top Gear and the Bomberman series lately with a friend of mine online with the SuperNes emulator ZSNES.
Got me thinking if I could do this with stuff like Combat for the 2600.

"I heard a story where when Pong came out, kids would make frozen quarters from play-doh molds and use them until they were caught. "
From one of the Atari Anthology interviews with Nolan Bushnell, right?

So to answer the question, I guess Word Zapper is the worst title I like.
-
Air-Sea Battle, Defender, Space War, Video Pinball, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., Minature Golf/Arcade Golf, Steeplechase, Tac-Scan, Commando Raid, M.A.D, Squeeze Box, and Word Zapper are all titles I've seen a lot of bad things about on this board and others, but I love them all on the 2600.
-
The redesigned PS2 that is (Forgot to mention which system).

Or go to Canada, I had to.

The Wal-Mart in Cornwall Ontario had around 30 of them right before Christmas. Every place in upstate NY was backordered, as well as every online retailer checked.
So if you live near the Canadian border, might be worth a try.

Why do you think they should lower the price on the older model if any were left?
They're functionally the same, and a lot of the old models also came packed in with the network adapter, making it virtually identical besides being larger.
-
They don't sound like words to me.

Speaking as someone who used to buy every EA Formula One PC title, and Papyrus PC NASCAR title as they were released, I think its so we can get a closer representation of the sport we love as the series progresses. I'm sure that's what drives people to buy stuff like the latest NFL title, though I'm not one of those people (Only auto racing for me

If you refuse to go back a generation to try Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, and Super Mario All-Stars, its your loss.

Its the only way you're going to find the kind of game you were expecting.
Also Super Mario Land 1 and 2 are worthwhile purchases for the Game Boy.

Can the cart slots be switched? I have another 7800 that seems in fine shape besides the power button that started giving problems and eventually died, which is also beyond the scope of my abilities to fix despite it being a simple one I'm told.
