Hooked up to my TV, I currently have: PC Dreamcast Xbox Gamecube
-
It WILL be released this year. Trust me on this. Have some patience...play through Halo 1 again or tackle another new game in the meantime. Because Microsoft said so? Wouldn't be the first time MS missed an release date (several OS's come to mind). In hours of searching, all I could find are a couple of 3rd party blurbs about MS "officialy" announcing a release date of Fall 2004. Only problem is I can't find anything on microsoft.com, bungie.net or xbox.com. Actually, I did find 2 things on xbox.com, and that wasn't much, a "Street date: Fall 2004" on the game-info pages and a copy of the original 2002 "official" announcement that the game was being developed and would be released end of 2003. All I can say is, I'll believe it when I see it. The "official" announcement means absolutly nothing to me.

All I know is for over a year now, the release date keeps getting pushed back. I wouldn't be a bit suprized if it turns out that Halo 2 is never released for the 1st gen Xbox's, and is instead released with the Xbox 2. Any takers on that bet?

Could be worse, could be a 5713.

After flipping through it real quick, here's my question: Can it have any more advertising in it??? Jeeze! Here's a breakdown of GamePro March 04 116 pages including front & back covers. Actually 120 pages if you want to include the Namco fake Gamepro cover of 4 ad pages attached to the real front cover. 3 pages of credits & indexes. 72 pages of game content. 44 pages of advertising (thats subtracting 1 page for the real front cover). That works out to around 37% advertising. (BTW: this isn't including the 4 heavystock mail-in inserts (2 loose, 2 detachable). -
question on 7800 console repair(bad ebay purchase)(UPDATE)..
Artlover replied to chrishicks's topic in Atari 7800
Regarding negative feedback, maybe say something like; "Received item. Not working like new. Power supply & switch were amatureishly jerry-rigged and RF socket was loose. Had to make repairs." With that out of the way, I would like to ask, do you have a link to the auction. Personaly, I'd like to read the description the seller had posted so I could know both sides of this. Makes it easier to comment fairly. "Working like new" - It's a matter of grammer and symantics. Like new, in that phrase doesn't neccessarly imply the condition of the unit, but it's comparative state of workingness vs a new unit. You could just as easily sell only a 7800 mobo w/no case and still justifiably and legaly claim "working like new" so long as it functions in equal capacity. With that said however, the issue with the jerry-rigged power switch and loose rf connector nullify that point any ways. So assuming "working like new" came from the sellers description, then there definatly is an issue of misrepresenting the item. So negative feedback would be justified. -

Ever have a dream or nightmare that had an Atari game in it?
Artlover replied to Duke 4ever's topic in Atari 2600
No atari 2600 nightmares, but I have had an occasional Windows nightmare. Always happened after I've spend the last 30 hours trying to fix some major failure, without luck, and passing out from exhaustion. The dream will be me still trying to fix the same problem. I'll try something, it doesn't work. I try the same thing again, and it still doesn't work. I try the same thing again, and it still doesn't work. And I just keep trying the same thing that doesn't work over & over. Eventualy I actually wake up out of fustration. -
What "Mid Gen" games would you PAY to have remade
Artlover replied to Jasoco's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Only game I would pay to have remade is a bit older then mid gen.. Neuromancer for the C64. I'd do anything to see an Xbox or GC port. Hell, even a DC port would be nice. I even e-mailed Interplay about it. They said there are no current plans for a remake. Bastards. -
if Atari started making new 2600 consoles and games...
Artlover replied to chrishicks's topic in Atari 2600
It would be interesting to see it be tried. Maybe it would inspire Rockstar Games to make a 2600 version of GTA3. -
Anyone try changing ROMs in that new 2600 controller?
Artlover replied to Starman's topic in Atari 2600
Search? I'd like to see a system where when you try to post a message, the system would automaticly do a keyword search based on whatever your topic name is. Then, before even allowing you into the editor, pop up a window saying "we have found the following topics that maybe simmilar to yours" with a list of hypertext links to all found messages. Then have a button at the bottom of the links list saying "to continue entering a new message, click here". If that wouldn't be feasable, then how about about making the "search" option in the menus atleast a 40 point bold font, have it blinking with spinning gold stars circleing around it. -
Don't you wish idiots had never discovered our hobby?
Artlover replied to Brad2600's topic in Auction Central
Wow, you really figured me out... That's not what I meant at all. What was stated is what I meant. I think it is retarded when people pay may for an item that it costs in a retail outlet. That is rediculous. I stop my bids at the price I would pay. I think people are dumb for paying too much. I don't really like dumb people. You can't hardly make a comment on a message board for people making some ill-conceived accusation about what you've said. You should have to take a reading comprehension test before you are allowed to communicate to other people on message boards. It's really none of your god damned business how much someone else pays for something. Like you said, you stop your bids at the price your willing to pay. Great, so what's your problem then? Other then not getting to buy everything your want because someone else, stupid or not, decided to pay more. -
Whoa. I assume this means that they arn't using the boot trojan anymore.

sourceforge is down. Thankfully, www.zophar.net stays up to date.

Check the solder joints on the power jack connector. I'm starting to notice that happening on my units lately.

How sensative is the Genesis to timing issues? 7" will cause a delay of slightly over 1/2 a nanosecond.

This just proves Ebay is being taken over by criminals
Artlover replied to Zeus's topic in Auction Central
While I also agree that it may not seem fair to punish the buyers too, thats the way it works. Law enforcement is the same. If you are in poession of stolen property, regardles if you knew it was stolen or not, it is taken and either held for evidence, returned to the proper owner, or sold at auction if unable to return. It works along the same lines of "ignorance of the law is no excuse". Same thing here, not knowing something was stolen doesn't change the fact that the buyer doesn't have the right to that stolen merchandice. It is someone else's property. The buyers can file suit against the criminal seller for theft just like everyone else involved. -

Too many consoles for the market to support?
Artlover replied to oesii's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Yeah! They were always kinda like those "one of these pictures isn't like the other" game. Having a 2600 back in the days sucked. -
I've got to try this game!

"I'm not paying $5. I will pay $3.50 for priority mail
Artlover replied to RCmodeler's topic in Auction Central
I was under the impression from the description of this group that it was intended for listing and showing off auctions. I suggest a new group be created called "Auction Piss & Moans". That way this stuff can be kept seperate for the sake of the people who don't care. Of course what I really wonder is, if everyone is so god damned unhappy with ebay, then why don't they just cancel their accounts. Problem solved. -
Hey, thats the one I got.

Intellivision crashing after a few minutes...Remedies?
Artlover replied to Blackwolf's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I have an Intelivision (original style), but actually haven't played it for more then 20 minutes at a time. I have heard that they are prone to over-heating. Personaly, when I get time, I plan on opening mine up and seeing if there is enought space to put a few heatsinks and maybe a small fans in it.
