  1. I agree the majority here. Your auction is pretty clear, and the buyer is at fault for not bothering to READ before he bid. Maybe it was an honest mistake, but with the history ebay has, I'd be more inclined to assume it was a deliberate "lets f--k with someone" action. Cash the money order, send him his box, and tell him to shove it if he don't like it. In a simmilar news story, I bought a boxed NES Contra (with game) for .87 at goodwill last year. Not exactly mint, but not crushed or stained or faded either. Only gripe is a small yellow pricegun sticker on the front & no manual.
  2. Don't be suprised to find 4 unwrapped video tapes in your mailbox with an address label covering the movie title and & stamp on the corner. (When working for MTV, I went over to shipping to pick up some rackmounted computer equipment that was shipped back to us for repairs. So I get back there, and find a bare unpackaged computer sitting on the floor with a FedEx label stuck on it. )

Why are the dual button NES pads converted into a single button configuration when they are being used with a system that uses dual fire buttons? Anywho, it's not a trackball. It's a joystick, also originaly for NES. Made by Beeshu. http://www.nesplayer.com/database/accessor...esuperstick.htm

Aww, give the guy some credit. Maybe he mastered Outlook and downloaded them from usenet.
  5. The key was the word "softmod". A word meant to bend the concept of one idea to fit something that it doesn't apply to. It's fairly safe to assume when anyone says mod, that they are refering to a hardware level change or chip or something, not a "bootdisc."
  6. Were there ever any mail-in promotion/rebate type things for the 2600 back in the days?
  7. Hey, now... Wait a minute. As dumb as this all might be, there IS something to be said for that. Name any other universal cross-platform OS that can run on anything. Practical or not, thats a pretty damn cool claim of fame.
  8. Well, in responce to this one. Pretty much all home ports of R-Type suck except one; TurboGrafix 16. I don't have a SMS myself, but I have used the emulators, and I too was underwhelmed. SMS Sonic was pathetic. Been a few years since I last played with it. Just goes to show you how much I enjoyed it.
  9. I'd like to see something simpler. Like an electronic slut barbie doll. Just a 3d rendered nude doll with dirty clothing and sex toy accessories. And the ability to click and drag various, um, special bits, to stretch/enlarge/thicken them to your likeing. And for the women there is the Ken add-on. Maybe add a game to it. (First mission: Make Ken scream your name by working him over with a strap-on.)
  10. Oooooo. Never joke about a woman's driving. . Bad Rhindle Bad boy.
  11. That concept seems to be working well enough for Microsoft. Then again, Nintendo isn't worth 50 billion dollars either.
  12. The difference I think is that atleast on the Dreamcast, you can burn a CD and boot up with that. In essence, Linux is running totaly self contained on the machine. Only needing outside access for storage. This is not the case on the cube. You'de have to be streaming linux off the PC to the cube from the get go, along with streaming back again for storage. The cube would be acting more like a remote terminal console then anything else.
  13. I dunno. You can do bi-directional streaming, so long as you use your own propriatory apps (AKA: Memory card backup utilities and the like). My question is, can they get it to to see your internet connection AND can they break the 10m/bit limit of PSO that all current loaders are subject to.
  14. I also have not pre-ordered anything. Almost with Zelda:Windwaker, but didn't at the last second. My experience has been that I've been able to find stuff localy on release day, and days after, and this was when I lived in Miami, FL. Here in OKC, OK (Yeehaw, weesin hicksville), it's even less of an issue, and I never even think twice about if I can find what I want or not. Within 5 miles we have 3 Walmarts, Target, CompUSA, BestBuy, Circuit City, GameStop, 2 GameXchange's and 4 malls (with Sears, toys'r'us, electronics boutique, etc. in all of them). Then there are about 30 pawnshops, and atleast a dozen odd electronics stores that carry this stuff. Think I'll beable to find a copy of Halo 2 on release day? I think so.
  15. Guns also don't work with LCD/TFT, Plasma, and Projection tvs/monitors either.
  16. Anyone try it yet? Will it co-exist with VMWare? Hell, I guess I should just install it. But ooo I know it's going to break my computer. (Silently debates withself to just stick with VMWare).
  17. And you also have to register your Gamecube system online in addition to buying the 2 games, so you are screwed if your Cube is already registered. I just signed up for the offer earlier this week and got an email a couple days ago saying that the Zelda disc has been shipped, so the offer is still available (for now). I even had to buy my PIN numbers from someone for $10, but I'd rather do that than pay $20 to subscribe to that shitty Nintendo Power magazine or pay $40 for a Zelda disc on ebay. Dont forget your local game reseller. I bought the Zelda: Ocarina of Time/Master's Quest for $14.95 (GameXchange), and the Zelda collection for $19.95 (GameStop).
  18. If it sells at it's current $200 mark, then it's a fair price. The eraser and each of those 3 modules are $40 a piece. So that would make the EMP-20 programmer only $80 in the end. The EMP-20 is a discontinued product, but there does still appear to be module support for it. If the price goes much higher tho, then I'd say pass.
  19. Back to Wario World.... Where are all the Boss Crystals on level 2-1? I can only find 3 of them. Grrrrr.
  20. I've had Halo, GTA 3, and Dr.Muto lock up mid-play. I've had Cel Damage give a dirty disc error while loading in a new level. As far as Thomson DVD drives. They are such utter crap. High failure rate. Not to mention when they start to fail, they can get destructive. I've actually had a disc get burned by one of my thomson drives before it failed. Then after it failed, the laser controller chip smoked & burned. Litterly. Never seen a silicon chip melt & bubble before. It was pretty neat to watch. Now it's got an old Toshiba DVD drive from my computer in it. It might not play original discs anymore, but atleast I can still use the damn thing. It's my "research & development" unit, used for testing anything before doing it on my good 'boxes.
  21. FYI: PSO has a paragraph in the manual about not using Wavebird controllers with that game because of the remote chance that another nearby Wavebird receiver may pick up your signal, which would be bad if you were at the setup screen and entering a credit card number & stuff. I could see some college kid who hacked one up to his PC, and has it running 24/7 in his dorm room, dumping anything interesting to a file. Just waiting for a new enroll who's a GC PSO junkie to move in next door. Then it's shopping time (tho the ironic thing will be that the CC will be max'ed out any ways from playing PSO).
  22. Otherway around. Germicidal UV (253.7nm) is the correct wavelength (and are the same bulbs used by commerical erasers). Other UV light, particulary those in the A & B ranges (Longwave 400-315 & Midwave 315-280) will have no "usable" effect. Germicidal bulbs fall into range C, shortwave 280-200nm. One of the more dangerous ranges of UV light. There is also range VUV (200-50nm) which is the last UV range before you hit X-rays. Mostly used for spectrgraphic analasis equipment AFAIK.
  23. 800XL w/512k, Pokey/Gumby, and UltraSpeed OS. 810 & 1050 drives (both stock) 850 interface Shares my Commodore 1084 monitor and Supra 28.8 modem along side my primary C-128. Also got a 800 with 48k and basic cart. Shares all above mentioned hardware.
