The New TNN Video Game Award Show
Artlover replied to atari art's topic in Modern Console Discussion
You're talking about the old Nashville network. Not The National Network. The New TNN rocks. The old TNN was all country all the time. Ick. I'm sorry, I liked The Nashville Network. I'm not a big country fan myself, but it had some entertaining shows, and some good classic movies at night. Besides, on a whole, it was simply different. The New TNN is nothing more then another mainstream network like USA, TBS, TNT and so on. I almost never watch it just for that reason. -
So, whats your favorite home version of Ms.Pac-man. If you want, feel free to explain why, and maybe a list of the home ports you have. I like the Atari 2600 version the best. Sure, it's GFX & Sound arn't as good as any of the other. But the 2600 version really captured the pure raw essence of the game and it's game play very well. More so then most others did. Sega Dreamcast version (ala: Namco Museum) is a very close second and all around great version. The Atari 7800 version is the easiest version of Ms.Pac-Man I have ever played. I have Ms.Pac-man for: Atari 800 Atari 2600 Atari 5200 Atari 7800 Commodore 64 Nintendo SNES Sega Genesis (Tengen version) Sega Dreamcast (Ms.Pac-man 3D and Namco Museum versions)

I did something easier. I went to my local GameExchange, and bought Cybermoprh for it. My Jag works. Kinda bummed out thou that the cart cost twice as much as the console did.

What would you do about this eBay buyer?

Hahaha. Did you include braile controllers with the unit? -
Activision library observation -- no maze games at all!!!

Blame DOOM. When it came out, it was pretty impressive, and has now somehow become the defacto standard for what video games are supposed to be. Thou I must admit, the Paintball mod for Quake 2 is kool. GFX is a little on the poor side, relatively speaking, but it sure does nail the essenace of the sport dead on. Except for when lamer a--holes cheat. Death to all aim-bot users. -
Ahhhh. I had just bought a Jaguar myself at goodwill for $4.50, and was wondering about that myself. It only came with the console, p/s, and 2 controllers. No games, a/v cable, or switch box. Digging up a switch box, or making an A/V cable is no problem. But I started to get unhappy when I trtied plugging it in, and didn't see any power light. The thing is sitting next to me right now, all taken a part, because I wanted to check to make sure power was getting to it. And it is, up to and past the power switch. So I suspect it's good, just need to get a cart.

I aggree with you. I have used Stella many times, and the sound is awful. Ms.Pacman is one of my favorite games, and it just sounded sad on Stella. Heck, some sounds were missing altogether. I ended up finally buying Ms.Pacman to replace my dead cart after years of searching! Unfortunatly, I haven't had much luck getting other emu's like Z26 to work for me on my P3-650/Win2K box.

I think the copyright/money issue would mostly come in regarding what you are charging for exactly. If you are charging basied even just .00001% on content, then it is most certainly a copyright violation. However, if you are charging only for lets say, storage media and for work in volved in burning, then you "MAY" be able to tap dance around the law a little bit. As in that case, you're just charging for your time and materials, not the physical content. But, I'm not a lawyer, so don't take my word for it, get in trouble, then try to sue me or something.

I'm only missing one issue, Volume 1/Issue 1. Personaly, I'd be happy to find scans of it. There was a url listed for a site that had all 11 mags on-line, but the link has since expired in the last couple of years. (Internet wayback machine don't have it either). I'd also like to find scans of just a few selected pages from Volume 2/Issue 5. My quest continues. -
Well, cable is a bit different. The signal is low power and is isolated in the coax. The 3/4 stuff only concerns broadcast channels. Since FCC regulations generaly prohibit having two broadcast channels next to each other on the frequency spectrum, no matter where you go in the USA, one of those two channels will NOT have a broadcast on it. Thus making it avaialble for local microbroadcast (video game RF/VCR/ect.) use.
