  1. F.E.A.R 2 - Meh..... GFX is pretty good generally, but still cheaps out here and there. Walk up close to a crate, and you see the highly pixelated low-res textures/text. It's 2009 on a modern console, why do they still do this cheezyness. Yet other places it's stellar. Dust floating in the air in the underground tunnels and stuff is freaking amazing. Not scary. Annoying yes, scary no. I dunno, maybe I need to play the first one to apperciate the whole scary supernatural theme or something? Fairly short. Finished in like 10 hours. IE: Another game for ADD sufferers that rent games rather then buy them.
  2. Out of 40+ games, there are only 6 Sonic games - I love they way they used Sonic's name for the raw sake of attention getting, rather then just calling it something like "Ultimate Genesis Collection". And once again, out of those 6 Sonic games, none of them are SonicCD. I'll pass.
  3. It should be mentioned that this is not a universal, but purely depends on the client you use. Luckily, the previous set I downloaded were the same files, albeit with different names since it was a different torrent hosted by someone else. So I just renamed the all the files and copied them to the torrent download dir, and it saw them all as complete - so it only downloaded the 1 issue. Now I'm just waiting for the Family Computing one to finish. Got like 10 people leeching from me at over 120k/s, but only getting about 25k/s download.
  4. I dunno about that. Red is a very easy low stress color to see. High contrast, clear, doesn't effect night vision. Green or Yellow would have been too bright, and likely would leave you with temporary visual effects "burned" into your retina for a few minutes. Blue absolutely would have been the worse. It "should" have been full color, but in liue of that, choosing red was probably the best option.
  5. Recently started a new game, and discovered a sweet glitch in Vault 112. Already posted this on the Fallout3 Wiki, but figured I'd mention it here too. Some lockers regenerate contents. Basicly, look in every locker and take everything (including the locker in Braun's office). Leave the vault (only need to go through the door leading to Smith Casey's Garage), then return to the vault. Check all the lockers again. A random locker here or there will not be empty anymore but will contain either a Recon Armor/Helmet, or else 2 cartons of cigarettes and a clipboard. You can keep doing this over and over and stock up on those items to sell off later. When your full, you can fast travel to Megaton or whereever to unload, then back again to repeat. This only works BEFORE you start the Tranquility Lane Quest. Once you complete that quest, the lockers stay empty.
  6. What's annoying is that updates aren't available seperately. Like I notice on his Run torrent, that this one is updated with all 5 special issues. Just got done downloading the old set that was missing the first special issue. Why on earth couldn't that issue be torrented as a seperate issue as well, rather then just as a complete archive. Why do I, along with everyone else who has downloaded the old set, need to fight with damned torrents to download 4.5 gigs of stuff we already have just for 1 additional 60 meg file?
  7. I dunno if that's really it tho. The other two zips are fine. I find it odd that they are all created using different zip versions. The other apps like WinRAR can handle other newer version zips ok. And, like I said, 7Zip worked ok, and the version of that I'm using is several years old.
  8. Interesting.... I WAS able to extract Disk1.zip using 7zip. - WinRAR, WinAce and older versions of WinZip all report Disk1.zip as being corrupted. Very strange. Even more so since all those apps report the other 2 disks as being fine. Something is just odd about disk1.zip and it just don't like older Winzip versions or most other archivers that handle .zip files.
  9. Disk1 is corrupted. I downloaded the torrent twice, same problem both times. I thought the same thing when I tried to open one of the issues with Apple's Preview program. I then tried Adobe Reader and it was fine. Some ono-Adobe pdf readers have trouble with some pdf files. I'm assuming your using a PC but you might be having a similar issue. Allan No, not the same thing. The Disk1.zip is corrupted. Can't be extracted. Only shows 1 incomplete PDF file contained with in. Disk2.zip and disk3.zip are fine.
  10. Disk1 is corrupted. I downloaded the torrent twice, same problem both times.
  11. Here are some of the problem with that claim. Looking at several Japanese dictionaries, none of them show "fading" or "abrasion" as a meaning of the word. Looking up denim speak, I only found two references to this meaning. One was Evisu, a Japanese based premium denim store, and only on their blog page. The other was on some denimnews blog that said in reference to fading and highlights "I understand the Japanese call this effect "atari."" I get the impression this is not some hard core universal term being used by everyone in the scene, and more along the lines of elite speak trying to sound cool like they have some connection to Hidehiko Yamane or something. It's an Amercian auction, for an Amercian made pair of jeans, and American words exist to describe this that you will see being used in the general denim scene. Maybe they should have followed along that line rather then being pretentious.
  12. Not to be a stinker here, just adding perspective....... Personally, I don't really see the 2600 as being all that different either. I mean, lets really look at all those variations of Combat. I'm really hard pressed to call one text label being a "variation" over another because one has a small ® and another has a large ® or something like that. If we're going to say that, then even with modern consoles like Xbox, every game has like half a dozen label variations that encompass different languages, rating systems and warnings, ntsc or pal, etc.. And each typically has slightly different graphics (more so on the back cover that often uses different screen captures).
  13. Are you racist or just stupid? He's someone who was already banned from here once (and other places too) who's come back with one of his known alternate handles. http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...t&p=1339647 Don't waste your time.
  14. I hope you were doing all the extra things she asked and not just doing the basic's. You're getting really screwed if you don't. They almost all have tricks that make them insanely easy to complete. Honestly, I think the Super Duper Mart ends up being the hardest to complete. Even hiding the monitor in the Mirelurk nest is a cake walk easy. What level are you? What weapons are you primarly using? Really shouldn't be that hard. Could always sniping from Eulogy's balcony.
  15. Great news. One of them finally finished. Woo woo! Funny thing is it wasn't the 2nd one I found (that was still chugging along). It was the first one that has been stalled with no seeders for like the last 5 days. Apparently kicked in last night with a vengance. Oh well, no worries here anymore.
  16. No kidding. More and more Sonic games are becomming less and less like Sonic games.
  17. Well, if you really want to give it a try, I sure would appericate it. Just the "RUN Magazine" set. I got all the other ones I wanted with no problems. I would have said post to usenet (alt.binaries.ebook or alt.binaries.ebooks), but actually, I'm having issues with that too. Seeing as how I still don't have a job, and no money, I'm not paying for service and most of the good free providers I use(d) are OOS right now. So that's out. Only other thing would be posting them to a web fileshare service like MediaFire or MegaDownload (NOT RapidShare). Make a multi volume RAR archive out of them (100 megs per file for MediaFire, 250megs per file for MegaDownload). Doubt PDF's would compress much, so probably no point using any kind of compression factors. I'd suggest using MediaFire myself. They have NO LIMITS at all beyond per-file size for free users, so even with dealing with something like 44 seperate files, it would still be far easier and much faster for you to upload there then to any other web filesharing service. (MediaFire free accounts have no limits on number of files uploaded, no server storage limits, no bandwidth limits, no timers/delays, allows concurrent transfers - Like I said, only limit is each file has to be limited to 100 megs {more specificly, 100,000,000 bytes so 99.x megs}) Tho this 2nd torrent is still puttering along, slowly. It's up to 22.1% done now after just a couple of days. So I'm holding out hope that in another 4 or 5 days, this one might finish.
  18. Well, a week later. That torrent had been dead for the last 3 days with only 34% complete. Ended up finding another torrent finally. Still using TPB as the traccker, but it's a different archive (which sorta sucks because I can't copy what as already dl'ed on the other one over). Anywho. This is is wildly inconsistant, sometimes peaking at 50k/s down, sometimes dead for hours. Been running it for about a day, and it's at 11%. Boy I hate torrents.
  19. There are several (but a finite amount) of them across the wasteland. Try to find and kill them all!
  20. How else were they supposed to sell the Multitap and make more money?
