I'm new - what is "Cornhole"? It's a bean bag toss game they play at sports bars. Alternatively, it could be another x-rated title too.

Honestly, I like all these ideas. I would like to add: RealSports Tractor Pull RealSports Monster Truck (The old 1980's style original bigfoot monster truck stuff, not the crappy ass small tire monster truck racing poo we have today). RealSports Lumberjack Competition RealSports Toughman Competition (Again, old school style where you bend steel bars over your head and try to throw piano's up into a 3rd story window). Seriously. I love all those niche sports. There are a few x-rated RealSports game I could think off too. RS GB, RS BJ, RS BSDM, RS WSBS, RS Zoo.

NXE's "blades" menu is nothing like the old dash, nor is it set up the same way. I know I use my dash. I use the System and Game blades often. To that end, isn't the Games menu on NXE even slower. Not to mention NXE just looks crappy, even crappier when you use it's pseudo blades mode. Either way, it's my console, and I don't want it "ruined" because some people at Microsoft are asshats and think I "want" this and try to force it on my in everyway they can. Even if it's not that bad is irrelevent to the entire fundamental issue. Would people be defending this kind of act if it was on Windows? Install some update and in the process, it forceably changes your interface and themes to something different, and doesn't let you restore your old settings. Yeah, this update adds blu-ray compatabilty (Oh, and makes your windows look like OS/X). People would be bitching up a storm if they pulled that crap. They have no right to pull this crap on the 360 either for the same reasons. If I can revert, hey, no problem, I'll play with it and try to force myself to like it, then revert back when the puke starts rising in the back of my throat. But as a permenent, once it's done it's forever upgrade, no. MS can go f--k right off. There was/is no need for it. It's just about a few dim bulbs at Microsoft playing "lets be like the Wii". (All it needs now is a joyboard and huge library of colorful kiddy games that give people the gay and the metamorphosis will be complete. )

Yeah, not uncommon. So long as two different enemies are in the area, they will generally attack each other, giving you a break. That's not to say a few of one or the other won't still come after you, but most of the time you gotta get right in their face before they will. It's good for a beather or some easy kills or a diversion to just keep on going where you were going and ignore them all alltogether. Sometimes, the normally excellent AI goes pants on head retarded too. You know that sky bridge over that main road in DC near the Citadal area, the one with the big gaping hole in the side that a mutant snipes you from. The funniest part of the game for me was this one time I there. I was staying out of view under the bridge so the mutant didn't have a shot at me, I would run out take a few pot shots, then run back into the safe zone. The mutant ran out hole, screamed as he fell, smashed into the ground with a thud and died.

Dreamcast was better than the PS2
Artlover replied to Mazerati's topic in Classic Console Discussion
FYI, I'm not a fanboy. Never have been with any system, never will be. I've got an ass load of consoles extending from Coleco Telstar to Xbox 360. At one time or another I have both bashed and supported all of them. I have no loyality to any of them. Whats good is good, whats bad is bad. To that end however, BS is BS, and refusing to accept BS and trying to educate others who choose to believe BS does not a fanboy make. Since Sega never allowed the console to exist long enough for anyone to know one way or the other, no, this is NOT a fact. You do know what the meaning of the word "fact" is, don't you? Here's a hint: Opinion based on incomplete data is not a fact. Might want to file that away for the future. <sigh> No "whatever". It's a completely valid point that you choose to ignore because the whole PS2 is better argument falls apart when it's considered. Further, the DC did not "die". PS2 didn't win some contest that caused it's demise. The DC was terminated by Sega because they were bleeding money, and the DC, while successfull (and that IS a fact based on it's sales numbers while it was allowed to exist), wasn't going to keep them afloat. It was either abandond hardware or fail as an entity. -
Yeah, that the compy & tape are boxed. It's a fair deal.

Using the hdd in a Playstation 2...
Artlover replied to nathanallan's topic in Modern Console Discussion
That would be my assumption, yes. But seeing as how no one has ever seen a good FTP solution before, it's hard to say for sure. Maybe it is a hardware issue, but for the horrible speeds invovled, I seriously doubt it's a hardware issue. Here is a thread, albeit old, where some people are discussing xfer times as an example. http://www.psx-scene.com/forums/ide-hdd-di...umb-survey.html Average xfers of .2 to .8 MB/Sec with peaks of 2MB/sec. There is simply no way the hardware could be THAT limiting. It HAS to be the software. And given that average speeds change slightly depending on software versions used, it just supports it being horrible software even more. -
Yup, looks exactly like the ones I got with my Atari's too. Standard stock old school generic switch box. It's funny Atari never re-branded them. Even Coleco did that much. It's like all Atari did was swap boxes (or send their boxes to the supplier and had them packed in those then and there).

I think you meant to say to power up the drive, THEN insert the disc? I thought it "wasn't good" to power the drive on/off with a disc in it? Ya beat me to it. Was thinking the same thing.

ARTWORK CONTEST: NTSC Atari 2600 RACER Project
Artlover replied to Wonder007's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Awwww, just copy the original. 4 Roklan Software address labels with Pac-Man bleedthru. -
There is a thread here (i'm not sure where) where someone was making clear plastic boxes to hold Atari 2600/5200/7800 and other game boxes. http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...=box+protectors

Ok, let me rephrase, tobad there aren't more people like that here. Better yet, tobad everyone isn't like that here. Beyond that, the biased fanboy BS of "some" people in this thread has gotten old really old and annoying.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I meant. And I think that's a fair way to look at it. What good is something if it doesn't work properly. When none of the exclusive features of NXE works without the extra memory, it raises the questions of why they even allowed it to work on only 64meg at all and why should one even bother having NXE if they don't have the extra memory (ignoring that MS is forcing everyone to have it just to beable to play new games at all). It's not just for saving avitar data. But yeah, I understand your point. If I had NXE, I wouldn't use the avitars, netflix, copy to HDD. All I want/need is what I already have with the old dash. So yeah, technicaly, everyone who feels the same can run NXE on 64meg. It's still functionaly crippled tho so you can forget about playing with it just to play with, or learning to love it and wanting it till you invest in more memory in some form or another. I resent that on sheer principle alone. Whoa, is that so. Yet "another" reason to hate NXE. You download it from Microsoft's Xbox site and burn it to disc or USB drive. Here's another question I want to know that it's hard to get an answer for: Will NXE install if I remove the R6T3 resistor and disable the efuses? I seem to recall some babble about newer dashes checking for efuse functionality. Even tho I don't have the hardware needed to downgrade right now, if I can atleast leave that door open for the future, I might bite the bullet and upgrade.

We're talking about Microsoft. They didn't do it with the original Xbox, and that has a potentially fatal internal power supply design flaw. You think they were going to do that with this when it's just a measly "console don't work no more" issue. If anything, MS is probably very upset that they couldn't get away with something like a cheap power cord coverup to wash their hands clean of it again, and are stuck with having to pay for shipping, repair and labor out of their own pockets this time around.

Lets face it, what did most people buying either computer actually use it for. Even back during the high point of their lives, there wern't "millions" of people coding for either one. Like I said, the typical user (gamers), wasn't looking at two identical games that looked, played and sounded the same on both arguing over the merits that the game on system A used 17 bytes less memory and 3 less CPU cycles then the one on system B. Hahahahahahah!

They tough man? Then what the hell you giving me just a crappy ass blowgun for? Edit: Besides, he's supposed to be Jamacian, right? Why didn't he say "they though mon".
-
Well, most (not all, but most) 360 problems are related to heat in one way or another. That said, if you currently have a working one, just submerge it in Fluorinert and it should be good to go for decades. *EDIT*: And before any says it: Just the mobo, don't submerge the DVD drive. I doubt that would work submerged
-
I guess it should be possible. But again, why? You can still buy a real original for less. That's the part I'm having a hard time understanding. Who would the target market be exactly?
-
Tobad none of them participate here.

Namco = Japan = Cat ears = what's the problem.

You really are quite full of yourself aren't you?
-
You just contradicted yourself. Cheap clones are cheap because they aren't to original spec. What you'de be talking about here is remanufacturing the old hardware. Anything else is just going to be a non-100% clone/emulation. Selling them for more then you can currently buy the originals for doesn't sound too promising. Besides, it's not like these classic consoles don't exist anymore outside emulation or cheap clones. No. You can still buy real 2600's, real NES's, heck, even real Pong units. Don't even have to buy them sometimes. People just throw them away and you can pick them out of the trash for free. So I don't see there being a huge market for an expencive clone, as the market is already satisified with cheap originals.

Does the PS2 have a battery inside?
Artlover replied to yuppicide's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Rechargable batteries don't stay good forever. Eventually, they all will need to be replaced. Oddly, the Xbox & Xbox360 don't. -
Windows on the 2600? You're just begging to be smacked, aren't you?
