  1. you could always try to see if audio is coming out of the TIA. get a cinch plug, solder the input wire to the A3 hole on the board (right next to the TIA) and ground to the metal strip on the board for ground. then put it in an AV audio input of your tv and boot the atari with a game that has audio on the main screen (maybe something like E.T. which plays music the minute you power up your atari)
  2. Same here, couldn't care less. I just tried the rom btw... the concept of porting mario is nice but damn the game is very buggy. I stood on the ground, hopped a turtle and I somehow magically fell through the ground and lost a life. it happened to me several times. Sometimes I press the fire button and mario doesn't even jump. and as I was saying....I was just curious about how bankswitching is done. if it was just normal F4 or some custom kind.
  3. it's a weird repro...not worth anything.
  4. haven't looked into the code, but I was just curious. I have no intententions in creating a repro., I just play it in the emu.
  5. this is why I only connect that powersupl is the brick is NOT in the power outlet. So first I put the jack in my atari and then I plug it into the power outlet, NEVER THE OTHER WAY AROUND.
  6. hey thanx.... I just had the wrong URL Google pointed me to that right before I saw there was a reply
  7. Maybe a weird question, but does Princess Rescue use normal F4 bankswitching ?
  8. Hey people I was just about ready to buy some eprom PCB from pixelpas.com, but the website is gone !
  9. the most rotten lack is the fact that the emulator doesn't have a debugger and we don't know the full ASM instruction set of the aquarius. An ASM debugger and built-in assembler in an aquarius emu would be nice, but I am affraid it's never gonna happen.
  10. well the basics are Z80, but then comes the additional instructions.... We might want to check it out..... ASM has a lot more possibilities compared to basic.
  11. Well to be honest, I am into a lot of home computers and consoles...so my avater would be turning into Commodore, atari, aquarius, sega logo, nintendo logo, amiga logo, some others
  12. hey voltron. You are one step ahead of me I just started doing Aquarius since tis afternoon I played around with it earlier, but this is the first time I am actually trying to get output other the 10 PRINT "HELLO WORLD!" 20 GOTO 10 I have an aquarius for about a month now...... (after hunting it down for years) The first thing I've done was create a demo. Nothing fancy, but still it's cool. I'll be looking more into the aquaius
  13. hehe thanks for the help. Forgot to mention I already found out how to do it again..... I remembered I started doing some programming for my aquarius this afternoon. So far, I've only done a simple color scrolling demo, but there is more to come
  14. Hey people, Can anyone help me? I forgot the command to check the free memory on my aquarius. It was something with print ($) fre or free, but I can't remember!!
  15. I got a day off from work, so I decided to challenge myself for a game of columns on my sega genesis. The genny is still powered on, but I paused the game to visit a friend. This is the first game started, and still haven't finished it......(no game over yet)
  16. ok, so I played some games on my ST yesterday....big fun It was hooked up to my TV via the RGB cable I made earlier. I made 1 tiny adjustment to the RGB cable yesterday.... I made to output the audio on both left and right speaker....very nice You can see photo's of it in the attachments. I also attached a photo of the composite signal coming from my STF (remember....no modulator). I am gonna work on getting a color signal out of it soon (creating a PAL encoder circuit in the process) so I could play games in color on the NONE rgb capable solution I have in the house.
  17. ok so this evening I tried converting the RGB signal to composite signal with mixed results. I was able to play some games taking the Red Green and Blue signal, combining it with horizontal sync and composite signalpin to a composite cable to my tvbox, but.... I had a pot connected to Hsync and I had to disconnect and reconnect it everytime I powered off my atari. Also the signal is black and white, because I didn't have an encoder chip in the circuit (and no crystal to take care of the frequency in the signal). gonna look so more into this and I will let you know how it turns out.
  18. ah ok...... I'll stick to tos 1.00 for now. I have soldering skills, but I don't want to mess with a perfectly working atariST, although I am considering putting the VGA port inside the ST, since there is room in the case where the RF modulator normally goes
  19. yeah I read about it. But would upgrading my tos just be: take out the roms and replace them with eproms, or is there more involved ? If I recall correct, my tos romset is a 6 rom version. The TOS-roms are placed under the PSU board. I opened up my ST the day I got it....
  20. hey, My TOS is 1985, as seen in the first VGA photo. Is it easy to upgrade the TOS by eproms replacement....or does it require a lot of modding ? I have an eprom burner and some eproms, so it would be easy for me to burn them. I played around with the STf yesterday, found out the floppy drive is still working as well, loaded interlink and some highres compatible games (Crystal Castles in highres looks nice btw.) I took some photo's and I will place them here later today. Thanks for all the help you gave me so far....
  21. and another little update.... I also made an RGB cable, which works pretty good
  22. Ok, today was the day I made a VGA adaptor for my st to find out....it's working First test was on a 19" LCD screen Then I tried the same adaptor on a 25" wide screen, and I must say it looks pretty good Now how do I find out what TOS version it is? All I need to do is build an RGB cable and find a TV in this house which takes RGB signals via scart
  23. I found out atari can do VGA, and now I am considering either VGA or RGB....
