  1. Gorfy suggested, It might also be interesting to experiment with organizing teams for an occasional, short tournament.

Wow, Gorfy, you have some great idea there! Not sure how it would happen but damn that would be fun.

  2. Ok, finally some action here.

My thoughts. I might be repeating someone elses ideas but here are mine.

    Original High Score Club:

~ I liked two things. The extra little fun stuff we had to do for extra points and the fact that anyone can join at mid-season. Other than that, I thought it was long and got boring. I maybe only spent two days playing the games a week.

    The KO Style:

~ I loved this format. I really liked having the list of games before it started. I actually went out and bought all the games (except one) before the season started. This format really pushed me to play all week knowing I could be the one out. I set many personal best scores. I also liked how the next weeks game was announced two days before the week started.

~The only thing I didn't like was the length. We needed to KO more players earlier. Maybe 3 the first 3 weeks with 3 games during those weeks. Then two until we hit top 10. The final four was fun.

    Other suggestions:

~Have the regular HSC, shorten it, then take the top 8 players for a 'bracket style' tourney the last four weeks.

~Have the hybrid style HSC/KO again

~Have two seasons going at once. One for original HSC and one KO tourney.

No matter what format is chosen, it would be up to the new moderator to decide. We could also change Moderators once in a while. While my time is tight now, I would love to Moderate in the future.

Hope everyone is well. Let do this thing!

  3. First off I would love to thank Jacobzu7zu7 for putting together and running the HSC-KO Challenge! You did an outstanding job! The time you spent crunching numbers is really appreciative! Thanks!

Next, I would like to say I had a great time playing the KO style.

~I liked seeing what games we would play before the Tourney started. I actually went out and purchased any game that I did not have.( Except Mindmaster since I do not know what the supercharger is/does. Can I play Mindmaster on my system?)

~ The KO style really pushed me to play more often than I would have and I really stepped up my game in the later rounds.

~I found out I am good at Kaboom and didn't even know it.

Congrats to the Toymailman ! We tried to bring you down but your mastery was unbeatable. I need to pick a game next time that you stink at... hmmmm.

I sure hope a new KO Tourney starts soon. Here are some notes/opinions for the next time.

~We should eliminate 2 players for the first 5 rounds. Most of the time the eliminated player was one who didn't even post a score.

~The final four format works well.

~If a final four contestant hasn't had their game choosen yet, then it is automaticaaly a final four game. I think we already did this.

~The moderator has the right to cap the score on any game.

~The next time we play you cannot choose a game from KO Tourney One. This way more new games are choosen.

Thanks again and lets start the process again, please.

  4. I am in Deteachers boat.

I am not making progress BUT I am playing better! I am flying better, driving better and eating fruit better than ever before BUT I cannot improve my scores. I am glad this is a two week event.

I can feel a breakthu coming with all games but it just hasn't happened!

Still havn't got the Crazy Climber Arcade game . I just don't want to kick myself 6 months from now when I cannot find one so close to my area! What should I do? Help!...

  5. Ms. Pac-Man: Much harder than I remember. Great port.

Enduro: Another great Activision game. Takes great skill.

Buck Rodgers: Somethings off with this game. But addicting.

Crazy Climber: Outstanding game from my childhood. Oh, by the way, I passed on the Crazy Climber cocktail table for $600 on ebay.

That doesn't mean I won't change my mind tomorrow ;)

    New score on Buck Rodgers

  6. Ok. Back in town. I went to VA Beach. they had a classic arcade called Flipper McCoys. I played dig dug, Mario Bros, Frogger, Tron, Centipede, Donkey Kong, Punch-out, Pole Position, Pac-man, Ms Pac-man. It was great fun!

    Ok... The FInals.

My Opinion is that my game was never chosen. Crazy Climber.

You game was not chosen. Reactor.

If I make the finals... Either they both stay in or are both out.

    Only fair.

If I do not make the finals, I have no opinion.

Ok. Off to play Pressure Cooker. I have 3.5 hours left. That should be 5-6 games.

    Good Luck to all.

  7. I have been a 'squeaker' for many weeks now.

You just coined a new term.

A Squeaker- (used in the Atari Knock-out Tourney) One who spend the last two days playing the Knock-out Atari game of the week and submitting their score on Sunday night just to squeak into the next round by finishing next to last or third from last.

That is me almost everyweek the past 5 weeks. (except for Kaboom!)

I might NOT be able to squeak this next week. i am out of town Saturday all day and Sunday until 6pm.

Might be able to squeak after 6pm on Sunday but might be too tired.
