  1. Listening to the show now, just wanted to say that. Entertaining show!
  2. I would play a game in which the lead character was a disgusting parasite. Where's my E Coli game?
  3. Pac-Man is great for 2600. E.T. is pure garbage. I also find Atari Checkers to be unplayable, but Activision's is good.
  4. Colecovision: The Warrior of Wiz (1982). Similar to Frenzy and Wizard of Wor. Classic arcade goodness. Kill the wizard and his robots before they kill you.
  5. Missile Command, Space Invaders, Asteroids, Berzerk
  6. I feel like Wizard of Wor is also pretty underrated. Great game and a great port.
  7. Wizard's Quest (1982): A little known classic that would eventually have it's formula stolen and reused in Metroid and later Castlevania games. Unlike America and the UK, Brazil was always very fond of this game and had to close down schools on the day that Wizard's Quest 2 launched in 1983. It remains the official video game of Brazil to this day. The game is perhaps most famous for inspiring several home pirate versions and a line of toys (which were common in the late '80s and early '90s), television shows, and breakfast cereals. edit, could someone post the image? it wont let me post pngs all of a sudden. http://8bitcity.blogspot.com/2013/11/colecovision-wizards-quest.html
  8. Colecovision GHOST ADVENTURE (1983): Precursor to Adventure Island and Ghost 'N Goblins. Both games would steal most of their stuff from Ghost Adventure. Classic platformer and undiscovered gem.
  9. 1. Frenzy 2. Tutankham 3. Cosmic Avenger Go, go, go! What are your top 3 Colecovision titles. Homebrew is fine. Anything goes.
  10. COLECOVISION TANK WAR: A Turn-Based strategy game of war and explosions.
  11. Wanna stress those were mock-ups I'm not really making a Colecovision RPG.
  12. Check out my new game: Colecovision Ultimate RPG
  13. I'm not sure anyone ever played 3-D Tic-Tac-Toe.
  14. Looks totally professional and awesome.
  15. Frenzy invented the skeleton robot two years before The Terminator, and 5 years after Star Wars introduced C3PO and R2D2 (see lower right of the picture). The premise is that somehow Han Solo stole a farmer's outfit from Tatooine and got stuck in a maze. The manual (colecovision) identifies Han Solo as only a "commando."
  16. Ok you're right. BlueMSX is running very well and there is an option to disable horizontal stretch. Thanks!
  17. ColEm is acting kinda wonky, and won't truly fullscreen. (it will maximize). Virtual Colecovision doesn't run Frenzy. Bee doesn't work, and MESS I can't seem to get running. Not a fan of BlueMSX, too much GUI ugliness. I just want something quick and clean, like ColEM preferably but I'm open for anything as long as I can customize the controls and do a fullscreen on a widescreen monitor while keeping the original aspect ration. What else can I try?
  18. Missile Command Space Invaders Asteroids
  19. No one ever talks about Skeleton+ anymore and it's a great game.
  20. I had an IBM 386 and it was amazing. Compared to other systems it was like a dream. 40 meg harddrive. You could write a dozen damn novels on this thing. DOS. QBASIC. PASCAL. DOSSHELL. Quicken (I guess). Hell, it even made greeting cards and printed them on dot matrix awesome. It wasn't tacky back then to have computer-printed cards. It was the future and it was free. Plus, you could get shareware discs and free copies of games from friends. Probably got it in 88-89. Showed it's age by '92, but functioned well into 1998. It broke with the Y2K.
  21. Jade: The Black and White color switch would basically insure that the contrast between colors was enough to see what was happening.
  22. The Apple II was a great treat. I rarely see them anymore but grew up with them in the classroom and library as a young kid. Soon they were replaced with DOS IBMs and then eventually Windows 95. It's got a really great Galaxian port, that was a nice choice to display. I wish I could have played Ultima on it, and I know you are an Exodus fan because of your profile, Albert. From the facebook page. Yes, again, that high score is mine and it was up all day.
  23. Boscovian always seemed ok, but nothing special. Maybe I've underrated the game. That said, what part are you dying at over and over? I was stuck on the second base for a while until finally beating it and the next 3, before getting stuck again on 6. You should give yourself the max amount of lives possible to practice as much as you can in the later stages. That's always my plan for improving at arcade games. After a few weeks you don't need the extra lives and it's back to business as usual. I even have different "initials" that I use for any such "cheated" scores, since MAME tracks all that (XXX, WIZ, or ZOD for scores gotten with extra lives).
