  1. I don't know, but I wouldn't think so. It's my understanding that the initial production of 4-switchers in California was quite large. Does this guy's 4 switcher have a 6-switch base like Mock describes?
  2. Yes, some 4-switchers were made in Calif. I have one as well.
  3. I think your right Mitch, it must be from a 520st. Thanks for the help.
  4. (From the back) Part No: C070099 Power Supply DSP-1501 DVE 3 DC Output pins: +5V 3A, +12V 30mA, and -12V 30mA
  5. There is also this site: http://www.classicgaming.com/o2home/db/car...onid=1&sortid=1 It uses a 1 thru 10 format like AA. The rarity values it assigns to most carts aren't nearly as high as those found on other sites/lists. However, I think its ratings are more accurate. But I'm no O^2 expert.
  6. Could someone in the know please tell me what Atari system this PS belongs to. I picked it up at a thrift, thinking that it would work with my 800xl, but it is female where it should be male. Thanks
  7. I didn't think so, I just vaugley remembered playing an arcade game with the same premise, i.e., cops chasing robbers.
  8. Summer?! It SNOWED this morning. Nice find though. I got a toploader yesterday with PS and RF, but no controllers.
  9. Double Dragon Ikari Warriors Xenophobe Keystone Kapers? and the Tron titles, sort of.
  10. I just picked up an NES toploader today. It came with the RF and PS, but no controllers. I also grabbed a copy of Super Mario Bros.(without Duck Hunt) to use as a test cart. When I hooked up the console and fired-up Mario, I got video, but no audio, or so it seems. Since I can’t advance the game without controllers, all I have to go on is the opening demo. If the audio isn’t working, then I assume that either (1) the console has a problem, (2) the cartridge has a problem, or (3) the demo has no sound effects to begin with. I realize this is a stupid question, but does the Mario Bros. demo have sound effects? (I obviously don’t collect or play NES). Before I toss the console into my "I’ll get to it someday" pile, I thought I would post that question and at least eliminate scenario three. Also, what is the likelyhood that lack of audio is a cart problem? Thanks
  11. This thread addressed a similar question. http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=22960
  12. There are a lot of minor variations in cartridge labels. I've never seen a variant that wasn't covered here. http://www.digitpress.com/faq/labels26.txt Specific to your question: There are a number of text label color variants. Green versus yellow football is an obvious one that comes to mind. Golf has green and yellow text labels as well, I think. Other label variants are subtle, often involving only minor discrepancies in font size or text position on a label. The question is, which label variants, if any, does one collect? Personally, I don't actively collect label variants, but if I happen to get one of the more obvious variants, like a color variant mentioned above, I keep it. Hope this helps.

  14. I must have been editing my original post at the same time you were submiting a reply. I searched around old forum threads and came to the same conclusion. I'll have to look for something with a closer amp rating at Radioshack tomorrow. Thanks CS
  15. Nevermind. I figured it out. Thanks
  16. I have several 4-switchers that look exactly like yours. I don't believe that they are particullarly rare. Atari was probably just using up their inventory of six-switch bases during the initial production of the 2600A. I have two with this sticker. There are other "Frankenstein" consoles as well. For example, I have a console with a light sixer base wedded to a heavy sixer top. The wood grain panel in front is curved and dosen't fit right in the light sixer's square base, consequently, there is a visible gap around the edges. jjessop mentioned in a previous thread that production control within Atari tended to be sloppy. This fact probably accounts for most console variants or anomolies(sp).
  17. I just happened to notice some duplicate listings in the rarity guide. Dodge 'Em (Pict) Fire Fighter (Pict) and some others. I don't know if anyone was aware of this or whether there is a reason for this.
  18. Don't know if this helps... I opened a 4-switch today to clean the On/Off switch and noticed it was a revision 9 board.

  20. I think you can get IIgs software from the archives at www.apple.com/support.
  21. Thanks for the tip. I've actually been looking around on eBay, but purchasing a PS that way is going to cost me about 4x what I paid for the computer, so I'm going to hold out and hope I find a PS locally. Before posting this request, I didn't stop to think about the weight and what effect that would have on shipping costs. UPDATE: I no longer need a PS, but an I/O cable would be welcome. Thanks, CS
