I just found an image of the 7.5 Network Access Disk on one of my hard drives, so I can make boot disks for System 7.5 as well. The 7.5 Network Access Disk provides a very minimal installation, however. There are just enough resources on the disk to boot the Mac and access a network. However, it should boot most 680x0-based Macs, as long as they have a SuperDrive(HD 1.4mb disk drive), and it should even boot the NuBus-based Power Macs (x100 series). If anyone wants one of these, let me know.

I don't know if anyone needs one of these, but I know people used to ask around for them. I have some of my vintage Mac stuff out this weekend, so I can easily make system 6.0.8 boot disks if anyone needs one. This would be a minimal system set on an 800k disk. The disk should boot most vintage macs that lack a hard drive. Actually, it should boot most vintage macs made before ~1992, whether they have a hard drive or not. If you need one, let me know.

Icewind Dale II (PC/Mac) Icewind Dale II makes modest improvements on its predecessor. It's more expansive and detailed, its combat is more robust and challenging, and its writing is more substantial and engaging. Unfortunately, the game's plot is lousy. Story development and narrative pacing are nearly nonexistent. It's remarkable that a game with such linear progression can feel so scattershot. Encounter-to-encounter, Icewind Dale II is a competent D&D simulation, but as soon as you recognize that it isn't going anywhere worthwhile, it becomes all slog and busywork. (7/10)

Whoops. I had the wrong songs. I flip-flopped the albums for the 3rd and 5th tracks.

Ms. Pac-Man?

Hey! I got the antipode bit being Phoenix. Even spent some time trying to figure out what the opposite of a Phoenix was. Couldn't come up with anything though. Still, I'm pleased to learn that I was on the right track. Actually, got the diamond bit too, just couldn't figure out which game it fit. Anyway, nicely done, Chuck.

Project: Snowblind (XBOX) Apparently, Project: Snowblind was going to be the third entry in the Deus Ex series, but for whatever reason, it was spun-off into its own standalone universe. Nevertheless, the game's heritage is readily apparent. Just like the Deus Ex games, Project: Snowblind includes bio-augmentations, hackable computers, a large arsenal of weapons, and lots of ventilation ducts to crawl through. While those elements do add a measure of variety to Project: Snowblind's gameplay, they don't add a much depth because, unfortunately, those elements haven't been implemented in Project: Snowblind with anywhere near the level of sophistication found in the Deus Ex games. Unlike the Deus Ex games, Project: Snowblind never really exceeds the boundaries of a straight-up run-and-gun corridor FPS. Moreover, the story is dumb, the AI is lackluster, and the level design is pedestrian. Project: Snowblind is competent, but thoroughly mediocre. It's one of those games that somehow adds up to substantially less than the sum of its parts. (5/10)

Catch a Wave.

I thought I had a solid guess, but now that you've expanded clue #3, its meaning has shifted away from my interpretation, and I'm back to square one.
-
I think I've got it, but I just went, so…
-
Yup. Your turn.
-
Not Dig Dug. Hopefully, this will give it away. 6. Take the weft from the weave. What does that leave?
-
No, not Fathom either. On second thought, clue #4 will probably confuse as much as it helps. Ignore it, and try this clue instead. 5. If you manage to last, the alarm gets quite fast.
-
No. It's not Tunnel Runner. Here's another clue. 4. Triton: looks like that's where you're fightin'.
-
Nope. Not Color Bar Generator. It occurs to me that Clue #2 is better written this way: 2. "That Which Survives" Also, #1 is a clue to the gameplay, #2 is a clue to the title, and #3 is a clue to the label.
-
Nope. Not Rubik's Cube.
-
Hmm... Let's see... 1. One and done 2. That which survives 3. (RGB)3
-
Ah, Columns, not Tetris, derp! And, hey, cool, I got one! That was fun. Great clues.
-
Acid Drop. My thinking. #1 - Not sure. Wilson(s) did drop Acid. But this is probably referencing something in the song's title or lyrics. #2 - Beethoven's Fur Elise is the BGM in Acid Drop. #3 - Syd Barrett. Acid. #4 - Haven't actually played Acid Drop, so I'm not sure how this fits. I know Acid Drop is a Tetris clone. Do you match colors on the diagonal? I had just recently been listening to this album, BTW. #5 - Acid Drop is a Tetris clone with a plain white label #6 - A European game.
-
Nevermind. That one's already been done.

Icewind Dale (PC (Mac) ) A disappointingly uneven game. The level design, art direction, and musical score are all well-done, but linear progression, a haphazard plot, a dearth of substantive role-playing opportunities, and perhaps the most perfunctory dialog and exposition I've ever encountered in a story-based game severely restrict a sense of immersion. And without that sense of immersion, the game is little more than a repetitive and tedious exercise in mook-hacking. 6/10
