Yes open and close folder usually does it.

Will try later. In the mean time I got 6.0.6 from macintoshrepository. Unpacked the dsk from hfv explorer and coppied to a floppy. Retains icons and works on my ibook g3. Except the system folder has a blank icon and the floppy does boot the SE. How come only your dsk images make the plain system folder have a mac happy face icon and boot my SE. Why not other images.

No dont want to open her up. It wont matter since it was working before.

I will see later. But at least it boots from floppy. Its not worth much so I won't spend a ton. I will find an external solution if I can. I booted from the same 7.5 disk tools that got my foot in the door last time. And I initalized and partitioned the internal drive from apple sc hd setup. No luck just gives me errors. Now the HD icon disappeared. Upon restart it boots the floppy disk tools 7.5. But the HD icon still gone. Apple SC HD setup still shows scsi zero but says no visable partitions or something like that.

As I said I was booting from the floppy. I know I cannot erase the hd if I boot from it. Still even from the floppy no luck.

But from within system 6 finder its not erasing either when boot from floppy, I will try the 7.5 again tomorrow. But its super slow. Or maybe ontrack will help when it arrives.

Something really weird happened. I used the floppy. 1 disk was all that was needed. Copied everything off and onto g3 ibook. I then used the 7.5 image from here. I put system and finder 6 from the SE. And first aid plus hd sc setup from the 7.5 image. I restarted and booted from the floppy. I ran first aid. Problems found. I initalized the internal hard drive. Gave error cannot be replaced. I tried from first aid and from finder, Neither worked. HD SC Setup did not work either. options greyed out after it failed. Then the HD icon disappeared. I thought it was dead. I restarted and it showed again. And boots from internal now. But cannot format it. I would like to clean format and reinstall. But I cannot how odd.
