The Warthog has a horn?!?!? That's it, I'm getting it!
Yeah if you're ever on Live and see two morons riding around in the Warthogs with the horn on the whole time...... that'll probably be me and Starscream....
Oh and the Banshee makes some great noises when its dragged along the ground....

My favorite level so far is when you play as the Arbitor(sp?) and have to ride the Ghost down all those waterfalls. That was a fun level!
Wasn't to into being the Covenant at first, but it's grown on me.... hope we play a little more tonight! -
still overrated. just that many stupid people in the U.S.Hi are you a Nintendo fanboy? Please start a thread so I can go shit in it... Thanks for stopping by.
Why is he a Nintendo fanboy? Only thing he said is H2 is overrated, which IT IS. Maybe you're just an Xbox fanboy?

Status quo. If you've been paying attention, generally Nintendo fanboys come in to XBox/MS threads and shit on them, and then get pissy as hell if someone comes into a Nintendo thread and does the same thing....
...and yes I am a fangirl of the Halo franchise. I never played an FPS before until I played Halo. It took me awhile to even try it because I didn't think I would do very well, but when I did it was easy. I still suck at most FPS's but Bungie did things right for me with Halo.
And Pudd was exactly right. The game isn't hype. Halo has been consistently in the top 20 games with regards to sales for 3 years ! That's a lot of people who have played the game, have had a blast playing it, and who wanted more. It may not be the "best" game ever in the minds of the rare hard-core gamers, but the "sheep" seem to like it.
Fortunately video games have evolved to reach more people and are no longer considered the nerdy past time of a few geeks with no social lives. Keep your condescending attitudes if they serve you well, but it won't make much of an impact on the way gaming is going. And fortunately for you the Internet makes sure you won't have to pout in silence.

$125 million in 24 hours!!
Halo 2 reports record $125 million in sales on first day of launchBy ALLISON LINN
AP BUSINESS WRITER
SEATTLE -- Halo 2, the much-hyped video game for Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox video game console, had sales of $125 million in just 24 hours on the market, the company said Wednesday.
The figures for the United States and Canada, which represented sales of 2.38 million units, easily exceeded Microsoft's prediction that it would top $100 million in sales. Peter Moore, a Microsoft corporate vice president, estimated that it was the biggest launch of any entertainment product in retail history.
David Riley, senior manager with The NPD Group, said if independent sales figures show that Microsoft topped or exceeded $125 million in sales, then Halo 2 would definitely count among the top five best-selling games in history, for first-day sales.
But in a year which expects to see many big game debuts, he cautioned that it's tough to say who will eventually claim the most sales in a 24-hour period.
In general, Riley said it's hard to get accurate data on first-day game sales, although NPD Group does provide estimates on total sales for the life of a video game.
Through September of this year, the company ranks Super Mario 64 as the best-selling game with $308 million in sales since its September 1996 debut. Grant Theft Auto: Vice City ranks second, with total sales of $284 million between October of 2002 and September of 2004.
Tuesday's sales figures would put Halo 2 on track to easily beat out the first version of Halo. That game debuted in November of 2001 and ranked eighth with sales of $149 million through September, according to NPD.
Retailers also reported a busy day. GameStop, which operates 1,726 stores throughout the United States, said it sold more than 500,000 copies of Halo 2 in the first day, substantially more than any other game on its first day of release.

You have to assume Microsoft will keep it X-Box exclusive for at least the next 3 to 6 months, through Christmas and the beginning of 2005. After that who knows?BTW I'm stuck on the level where (SPOILER STOP READING) you play as the Covenant General. I've cleared all the heretics but seem to find myself after the checkpoint and the end of a long white tunnel that goes nowhere - only a door at the end to let enemies out. At the opposite end of the tunnel, the same. If you go back up you're in the main conveyor belt area/battle before that checkpoint. What am I doing wrong and where do I need to go to find the heretic leader?
Did you get past it?
SPOILER!!
Right before the last red door, there is a side exit off to the right. We were stuck there for awhile. I "accidentily" killed myself
and spawned facing it. Had no idea where I was for a second, but on we went. Actually the battle with the heretic was really easy, but we are playing on normal, because I just want to get through the game once to see everything. And having 2 of the brute plasma rifles is awesome, you can mow almost anything down!

Ok well it's really Starscreams but I use it all the time so....

Yup they are $249.99(CDN) and come with Fable and Crimson Skies
Excellent deal for one of the nicest Limited Edition xboxs' made to date. I got my Crystal from the UK and it cost me around $450 US I think and it had no games with it. It may be a good time for me to get another

Yeah, we Cubers have plenty of joy with our Zeldas and our Tales of Symphonias and Marios, thanks. Last thing I want is PS2 pity, as if only RE4 would validate my system of choice. Whatever.I just feel deceived. I'm sure Nintendo feels deceived too. After forming an alliance of sorts with Capcom to help GCN sales, Capcom is backing out and doing it unneccesarily in the public's eye. They're dicks for it plain and simple and they've shot themselves in the foot for it. I was going to check out RE4 largely because of its exclusivity, to support the game and support the system. Now I'm bitter and it's off my shopping list.
Why should Capcom be forced to lose money or make less money, just so Nintendo loyalists can be happy? I am sure the sales of RE4 on the PS2 will more than make up for Capcom losing your purchase. As a matter of fact the only people you'll be hurting are yourself and Nintendo. And whining about it won't help.
Do you ever ask yourself why there is so much jumping ship with Nintendo? If it is the god's own system, why isn't it doing better? It is not the third party publishers fault, they don't owe any loyalty to Nintendo.

1) Yes
2) System Link cable by MS or a crossover cable for the PC. MS one is 10-15 dollars for a 15 footer, PC on is a few bucks

Yup started the game over and already found a bunch of stuff I missed the first time...

Right now Starscream and I are gathering up members of AA to join us for Xbox Live game play. I can set up a private room for just us.
Have you stopped to think: we all love to play games, that's what drew us here in the first place.
Have any of you thought "I would really like to get together with him/her/it/us/them from AA and play games together?" I have.
You can do that now. And with the headset, you can actually talk to each other while you're doing it, no typing involved.
We can't come to each other's houses, but we can still "get together" and play games. Sure its not the same as being in the same room, but its as close as some of us will ever get.
That's worth the $50 a year to me.

Online play is shit for anyone who hates to be reminded that they suck at games. Every one I've ever seen keeps track of levels, or wins, or kills or something, so it's always a competition. I love single player games because even when I suck, I can work at it and eventually get good enough to finish the game and actually FEEL like I'm good at it. With online that'll never happen becasue ther are always hundreds of people with better statsOh well than you better not come up against me, because I would waste YOUR ASS, BEE-YATCH!!!!
This site cracks me up. On one hand, people bitch and complain that companies are never innovative with hardware or software. Then, when any are, people start grabbing their Yars revenge cartridge and start gushing tears of nostalgia all over it.True true.

Midnight.4. I never got into the celler of the pub (Bowerstone South) - How do you do that?Really I didn't know there was a trick, I was just running around one day and went back there, saw the doors and went on in. Can't remember what was in there, though I remember I wasn't very impressed....
Oh does everyone have the same name, Chicken Chaser? I don't know how many people I punched who insulted my name. This time I might try killing them all

Halo 2 sales $125 million
in Modern Console Discussion

Sorry, then you haven't been paying attention, because if you want I can list about 10 people right off the top of my head who habitually whine about.... everything I said. You may not be a problem child but they are here, and I'm not the only person who recognizes that fact, I just happen to be the most vocal about it....
I didn't start this thread as a 'Wow, look Halo 2 must be the best game EVAR, because it sold so much!" I started it as "Holy shit!! Did you ever think a video game could do something like this?!?" Its awesome! Not because its XBox, not because its MS, not because its Halo, but just because it happened.
