  1. I think it would be better to have it after season 6

The players who play via emulation, there's other HSC's that they can play in until the OE mini season is over.

    Just my thoughts.

I'm in, but only if it runs after season 6... The knockouts during regular season & multi game rounds absorb enough time.

    BATTLEZONE

    ZAXXON

  2. There is a thread somewhere here, where a few of us asked about an official fix... The original programmer made some promises to fix and make available, but to date , I dont think that ever happened.

Al was nice enough to put a Possible Mission cart together for me and I'm loving it, though I wished the Evil Otto voice at the beginning and end were in the Atari version.

  3. I have every game loose, including some of the home brews and protos. I have every released game boxed, some sealed with the exception of bounty bob strikes back and I wont be paying anywhere nearing a grand for one so I suppose that will be my white whale :)

I have one NOS boxed 2 port and my beloved work horse 2 port.

[4] 4 ports in all. 1 NOS boxed from '82, [1] used boxed , [1] * model , and my main 4 port which is my main gaming unit .

2 trak balls, both NOS boxed, one early production, one late.

    1 nos boxed vcs adapter.

As for controllers there are too many to count used and NOS. I dont use Wicos as I am left handed. I modify all of my Competition pro sticks for left hand use.

There are 2 things which I really want is the 5200 briefcase for storage and a CLEAN Kiosk !! .. I've passed over a few of each, just not buying to buy.

Not sure if I missed anything other than some goofy factory accessories .

    I love the 5200 !!!!

  4. I am VERY happy with 5200 Tempest, but will go on record saying that sound and game play are not arcade as I know someone with an original arcade Tempest and do know the game well.

To me, it plays very much like the unfinished Tempest as seen on some of the 128 in 1 carts but is much more fluid if that makes any sense. Sound is nearly identical to that unfinished version. I'd liken it to many of the Atari 5200 namesake ports that are limited by their platform, Asteroids comes to mind . I have not played the finished version with a trak-ball yet as I prefer a CX-52 .

The way I see it, we are VERY lucky to have a 100% playable version at all, so buy the cart boxed while you can. As soon as Al has it available I plan to buy 2 more copies boxed, one for my younger brother who got me started on Atari 34 years ago and another as a keepsake for myself !

So much work went into this particular game, it's an absolute must have !

  5. finally getting the hang of this one, but have figured out to stay away form the 7th stage warp as it seems better to build your points clearing a wave and moving on slowly.. good tip on the tunnel dots. I cleared them but did not know what for.. I have seen the mothership of whatever it is called as soon as I leave the tunnels.

will it take the dots from me or do I have to push a button to offload them ?

  6. In English, I think it is more correct to write "the most complex 5200 game ever". fyi!

Anyway, if the game starts to get overly complex, I'll simplify it. All you really need to do is get good at avoiding dangers, learning the maps, and learning how to 'observe clues' in the game. See that guy in the window? That might yield you a color clue if you watch him for a little while!

I never played Impossible Mission, but I've read something about it actually being impossible. :)

I've solved impossible mission on the C64 in 18 minutes. The Fixed 7800 version I got from Al last year took me about 40 minutes the first time through...

I love this type of game play and look forward to it , should you move fwd. on it :)
