  1. Indeed, the game gets crazy after you reach Mars. The wave ships start at the border of the screen making you choose where you position your ship. This has been my stumbling block chasing a record score. Typically I don't put much time into a game unless the forum is playing it.. This is one of my faves, but I realize now, that need to keep my chops up on all fronts. BIG congrats on a killer round win !
  2. To come within even 20k of doctorclu's record deserves some major recognition. This is a game that requires a well calibrated 5200 and a hell of a lot of playing time. If sdamons score holds, all should pay heed to one hell of a run at the record... This is one of the toughest games we will play. Congrats ! My best..... 239,950
  3. 69,484 Life sometimes gets in the way of serious gaming, still I couldn't sit this one out. After failing to enter the winning score twice earlier in the year, I figured I had better defend my favorite game best I could .
  4. sh!t... I missed putting a score up.. winning one at that.. off to a brilliant start.
  5. 123,900 Big congrats to doctorclu for breaking the record ! This is why we keep records ! The plus side is held within his posting of finally figuring out the game. When set, I played the game to simply set a record, now after finally figuring out the game, I am chasing one Maybe not tonight, but I am on the right track !! Awesome round !
  6. Nope , but patiently waiting for the right original Space Fury as well as Zaxxon !
  7. To clarify, I do have a good picture and sound, just no controller function.. In other words I cant start the game so I don't know what else doesn't work. Worked fine this past spring when I had it out. I bought this brand new back in the day and take care of my gamin gear, have the box and everything so I will end up fixing it rather than getting in anothers problem potentially.
  8. I recently pulled my SNES out to find that I have a good picture and sound, but the start button does not work , no other controls work. I tried several controllers and almost every boxed game that I have and the issue is the same. Any ideas ? thanks for looking .
  9. Save your money and repair the controller correctly with all gold. I won't install the old original flex circuits because they go to pot fairly quick and how many times does one really want to take apart a cx52 to clean those contacts.? The gold flex circuits are lasting me about 4-6 months depending on how much I am playing. During a normal 5200 HSC season I go through 2 flex circuits in my main controller. Best claims they should last forever, so they have warranted them for me. The gold fire buttons are great, No mushy feel, but having a hard metal contact they do eventually wear out the flex circuit from mashing the buttons which is the issue I have had . You can use the single, double, and triple dot original Atari buttons with the gold flex circuit, I have a couple controllers set up with them and use them for certain games only. I really like a traditional mushy fire button for Galaxian, it's a feel thing for me, nothing more. You should see extended flex circuit life with the original Atari fire buttons as well, but plan on cleaning the controller on a regular basis. On average, I have 5 controllers set up varying ways for certain games. One controller for everything is impossible.
  10. Hi Guys... Well as the new 5200 HSC season looms, I am readying my new gaming room . I've decided rather than continue bothering my wife as I sit in the living room hooting and hollering while playing , I am going to set up a gaming room, where I can hook up multiple systems at once while obtaining some much needed game box, etc storage to free up a spare bedroom closet which I have monopolized the past 3 years. I have an entertainment center picked out on CL and am adding some Tv's. First let me say that I am a Panasonic CRT guy...Always have and likely always will provided they are still available and can be fixed. I don't care for the new LED's refresh rates and cant use them for gaming anyway, so I have many Crts about the house that work just fine for my tv viewing. That said, The wonderful 27" Panasonic CT27SFT that I bought new in '94 gave up the ghost recently after its third repair, So I've been snapping up 32's of the same model for simple watching. I picked up a Sony KV32HV600 a few weeks back for $25 that has the built in sub and true surround which I think will be great for gaming with all of the inputs etc. The black tube technology is not as good as my Panasonics , but $25 is $25 ! . My question is, I found a Sony KV-36XBR250 for free and am going to get that today , but am wondering how this TV will work for the old Atari games ? I know it will work fine with Playstation and SNES, but am worried that the resolution might be to high for the old stuff.. Other than HDMI input does anybody know the tangible difference between the 2 Sony models I am asking about ? Any thoughts ?
  11. Well said. I crossed that bridge playing in 2004. Whereas I was bummed to leave it behind, [still have way too much gear], I am happy today that it is behind me knowing I left nothing on the table. One door closes and another opens.
  12. Spring cleaning is in full swing and I've finally decided to downsize if not eliminate most of my c64 stuff, especially magnetics. Keeping all of my carts. That said, I never used the 64 for anything other than games . So, I am wanting to buy a multi cart loaded with the better games for that system. ** Must haves are Impossible Mission 1 & 2, Summer Games 1 & 2, Winter & World Games, California Games, and Leaderboard Golf .** After that, I am really open, provided its not loaded with a ton of cheesy Atari rip off games or dreadful simulators.. Games like: Operation Wolf, Ikari Warriors, Tapper, Super Zaxxon, Jumpman, & shoot 'em up space ship games are my thing. If the cart is easy to use/upload on to without losing everything, all the better as I am no computer historian or pro. I just want to play. thanks for looking..
  13. I'd be happy to do that and would sincerely appreciate it. For some reason , I can only upload one game list -file to the cart. I've tried to combine 3 or 4 game lists that folks were kind of enough to share, so that I could fill the cart, but only one of those sent will load , and I cant load them individually either. Have emailed Atarimax countless times asking what the issue could be , but no response. Finally have given up.
