  1. How much are Atari 2600 Basic Programming keypad overlays worth?

  2. Don't you love those people that call all Atari controllers "paddles"?

    1. CorTat-G

      CorTat-G

I thought all video game systems were called "Video Game".

  3. I got a CoCo 2 today! Unfortunately, I have no software for the CoCo 2. Ooops.

  4. Just "foil-dotted" my 5200 buttons. Wow -- what a difference. They actually work now! Fire!

      jmetal88

The result seems about the same, but the implementation seems 'neater'.

Now you need new rev 9 flex circuits and you'll be set for a while!

  5. Ody2 - changed the RF cable so I no longer have to use the horrible OEM RF box. Crystal clear video now.

  7. Anyone have a CIB Intellivision Horse Racing they'd like to sell? PM me!

  8. Love love love the Virtual Boy

    1. jaybird3rd

      jaybird3rd

That's probably what it is; I'll have to fashion a tool to open it and check.

But, on a positive note ... the Virtual Boy offers some really good games! My favorites so far are Wario Land and V-Tetris.

  9. Playing Intellivision Golf -- great game. Remarkably similar to modern golf games. It's a lot of fun.

    1. BillyHW

      BillyHW

I don't believe I've ever tried that one. I played a lot of Leaderboard Golf on C64 though.

    2. Certifiable

      Certifiable

Golf's awesome, are you playing PGA or chip shot?

    3. RickR

      RickR

PGA. I haven't heard of Chip Shot...is that good as well?

  10. Intellivision collection -- slowly growing.

Have you added something cool recently? :)

    2. RickR

      RickR

No, I'm still working on the basics. PGA Golf and Tennis in CIB are the latest this week.

  11. Chopper Command. Very difficult. Any tips?

    1. shadow460

      shadow460

Practice. Try to not follow the enemies. Hit a couple of 'em head on and pass the ones that want to dogfight. Pick those up on the next pass.

      RJ

      Play Defender- it's better

  12. Playing 8-bit Berzerk. Wow, what a great game. It is just as hard as the arcade version. And voice! Only flaw - the bouncing sound for Evil Otto.

    1. BillyHW

      BillyHW

      Yes, well done port.

  13. Who wants a free (but needs a belt) 410 program recorder?

    1. Rik

      Rik

A belt? I wish that was the case for me, all 410's I've found, the motors are shot, belts were fine.

    2. RickR

      RickR

I'm pretty sure the motor is fine. Just pay shipping and you can put your belt in it!

  14. Best combo ever: Harmony cart. 2600jr. amd SlikStik

      cncfreak

definitely my favorite joystick... (looks around) i need to start hoarding more of those...

    2. RickR

      RickR

I have two. They are tiny, and go well with the jr. Nice tight control.

  16. Fiddling in the garage, fixing joysticks in a box full of broken joysticks when I come across a weird one with springs inside. Wowza -- it's an original CX-10! I've never seen one. Cool. And it works now....button spring just needed a little expansion.

  17. 5200 Space Invaders arrived today. Can't decide if I like it. I like how it is very difficult and fast. I wish they'd stuck with aliens that looked like the originals more. The spinning ones remind me of Ralph Wiggum for some reason.

    1. jmetal88

      jmetal88

It is pretty difficult. It's one of the three games I currently have for my 5200 (they all came with it, I just haven't bought any more yet).

    2. SoundGammon

      SoundGammon

You'll notice that when you sometimes shoot the mother-ship and it shows 60 points...but you don't GET 60 points!!! Bug?

  18. 5200 Centipede arrived in mail today. Surprise -- it is different than the 8-bit version. Much better! Fast and really difficult.

    1. jaybird3rd

      jaybird3rd

5200 Centipede is great, but it would be perfect if it had the two-player simultaneous option of the 7800 version. I only wish they'd given Millipede the same treatment.

    2. BydoEmpire

      BydoEmpire

The spiders are nasty in the 5200 version. I'd love to get a trackball, though I think it would

      help.

    3. RickR

      RickR

They made it difficult. But about the same difficulty as the arcade original I'd say.

  19. Cleaning an Atari 800 with dish soap and a toothbrush.

    1. Master Phruby

      Master Phruby

A magic eraser might work better.

  20. Bought an 800 via Craigslist today. That makes 4 8-bit computers in the collection. The 400 is still my favorite. Makes me smile every time I see it.

  21. Just purchased a broken Sega CD with the hope that it was just a blown fuse. Well, it was! Fixed and now it works fine. Now I need to find some games.

      mtshark7

      Good job fixing it!

  22. Just made end labels for my 5200 games. Shouldn't Atari have known better?

    1. S1500

      S1500

Same company that thought numeric keypads were a good idea...in the 90s.

  23. Spent too much at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo. Too much good junk to buy.
