Yes, that looks like an original Intellivision to me too.
-
Yep, so long as you don't already have a copy (or 2, or 3, etc).
-
It does not make noise. What exact problem are you seeing? Does the light on the VIC turn on? Could be a bad RF adapter if it is the kind with the black box in the middle of the wire.

** DELETE ** I got one on ebay!

I'd be more concerned with moisture than temperature. Is it possible to put the cartridges in plastic tubs with tight lids and put them on the shelf? If so, that may be a good option.

Bought some 2600 games and accessories. A good person to deal with. Thanks.

Moved to its own thread:
My Intellivision is broken. Upon turning the Intellivision on, the title screen comes up, then the screen gets all garbled. The game does play (based on sound effects) but the screen remains garbled. Please see the video below. That's me pressing the reset button a few times.

I've done the following so far:
1. Transformer is good (AC voltages into the power board look fine)
2. Power board is good (DC voltages going into the motherboard look fine).
3. All socketed chips have been removed and reseated.
4. All dirt and grime has been cleaned out from the inside.
5. The cartridge port has been examined and cleaned.
Anything else I should check? Time for a burial ceremony?
Thanks.

So a little more info if anyone can help me. I checked the AC voltages coming off the transformer, and they look fine. Then I checked the DC voltages on the output of the power board, and they look fine. So something on the main motherboard is causing this problem. Game turns on, then the screen garbles after a few seconds.
Thanks.

Sorry to drag up an old post, but did you ever find a solution for this? I have an intellivision that is doing something similar. I turn it on, and the title screen comes up, then the screen goes garbled after a few seconds. The game seems to play ok behind that garbled screen (I can hear the sounds). Thanks.

Thanks everyone. I'll drag out the cassette player from my stereo system and make sure it works, and take some pictures of it in action for the auction.
-
I'd say the cassette is in very good condition. Both sides are "shiny" and clean. No discoloration or peeling that I can see. Yes, this is the original cassette box.
The manual has a few creases. No discoloration or folds. Doesn't smell of mold or mildew or smoke. I'll try to take a better picture of this for the auction.
OK, so $30-$60. Thank you. Good to know.

I'm going to sell my copy of Survival Island on Ebay, but I'm not sure what it is worth. I was thinking $75. I'm the original owner. I purchased it mail order after the company had gone under after seeing an ad in a magazine. I have the instruction manual. It has been stored for a long time in an airtight box. I don't know if it still works, as I no longer have a tape player. However, it does look to be in very good condition.
Thanks.

Don't the 1571's load faster when used with a 128? Not sure if that is the case in C64 mode or not. It it is, I'd go with the 128. Anything to get those disks to load faster.

I would agree it is an acquired taste. Takes a while to learn. Basically, it is like a board game that is fun with several people.

Very very nice collection. But no M.U.L.E.?

Well duh. Pressed the space bar, and the motor whirred to life. Feel stupid, but glad I asked. Thanks!
Now the belt is very slippy. I'll work on that next. Thanks again.

Hello:
I just got an Atari 410 tape drive that does not seem to work. It will not play or record. I know it must be connected to a computer to play, so I've attached it to an 800, hold down "Start" while turning it on, I get a beep, yet play does nothing. FF and REW work fine. I've taken the back cover off to see if the motor spins when play is pressed, but it does not (even with the drive belt removed). When I did take the cover off, an earring (?!!??!) fell out, so it is possible something is broken. The question is, what can I check or fix to get play/record working again?
Thanks, Rick

THANK YOU! That is exactly what I needed.

Hello: I have a broken Combat cartridge that I'm trying to fix. The problem is that the little flap that covers the cartridge end is no longer "springy". The flap is always "open" or "in", and thus, you can't plug the cartridge in to the 2600.
So I've taken the cartridge apart, and there is a little wire spring that is supposed to hold the flap in place. The problem is, I'm not sure exactly how it is supposed to look. Is there a picture or guide that shows the correct position of the spring? I've been experimenting, but don't want to bend the wire unless I have to.
Thanks!
PS - this is part of a project I'm doing to reburbish a Sears light-sixer I bought on Craigslist. The console works perfectly now, and I just need to spruce up the broken cartridges for it. Having fun and learning lots.
