It's mostly about the sub directories, which can be a bit of a pain but is worth it when it works!

Use a frontend like D-fend for Dosbox; much easier that way. You can even create desktop shortcuts for DOS games with D-fend; just double click the shortcut and the game will start. Very nice

put the game folder in the root directory of your C: drive (C:\) then type in dosbox "mount c C:\(yourgame's folder). then type C: and type the name, there you go.
