  1. The quality isn't what worries me its the flickering its doing. If it was consistent in staying fuzzy I'd think nothing of it, a composite cable is defintely something I want to get, if nothing else for the fact that its less of a pain in the ass to hook up.
  2. So the Jag I ordered recently arrived and I was ecstatic and enjoyed unboxing it and looking over everything. Then hooked it up and had my first sit down with Cybermorph. After like a minute of play the graphics got kind of fuzzy. It still players fine but its kind of annoying, the screen will occasionally flicker and and they will sharpen up or a line will appear on screen for a second or two. Is this normal? I wouldn't think so as every video I've ever seen of game play it was nice and clear. So did I get a bad RF adapter or something, could it be the console itself or the game? Or is it just because I'm playing on a modern TV? I tried to take a photo but it doesn't show up to well.
  3. Came across an Atari FlashBack 2 today, passed on it. It was missing its power supply and a controller. :/ But I'm sure if I change my mind it will still be there since they had it on a low shelf behind a counter thats not easily visible.
  4. Yes indeedee BattleTanx is a fantastic multiplayer game! Its normal story mode is nothing special but the multiplayer is great fun.
  5. I really loved that game too, and was surprised to see IGN reviews of the ps2 sequel bagging on the N64 original. (link) For some reason, my copy of racer revenge won't load up on my main PS2, so I can't compare them. The only problem with the N64 one is that it required so much concentration that I would *regularly* forget to blink until it became painful. I still remember that over a decade later. Helluva game. I don't remember liking revenge. I rent it once and that was enough for me, can't remember what I didn't like about it. Funny thing is thats what I love about the original game. lol I love games that require you to totally zone out and focus on just it. Great example is XGIII For the Gamecube, I can't think of any racing game where the need to focus applies more. Your bike in the game can break the sound barrier and they really do feel that fast when your playing. Requires all your attention otherwise you just bounce off the walls non stop and lose.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3Vle_jOuKQ&feature=related
  6. That would require them to replace most if not all of their current manufacturing equipment which again would cost them more money then they would probably save. Its money thats the reason I believe that brought about these cases not an attempt to be eco friendly. I just mentioned it as a potential benefit, I don't think thats the reason at all for them coming about. Not to mention I doubt consumers would appreciate a change in product like that. I'm guessing it would annoy most people if movies started coming in crappy little jewel cases like the ones CDs come in. I know it would piss me off if when I organized my movie collection I had random jewel cases between full size dvd cases.
  7. Not really Nintendos fault. Lots of games are starting to come in those kinds of cases(though this is the first one I've seen that wasn't the usual DVD case), its an easy way for them to save money and it wastes less plastic in the manufacturing process so they are a bit more eco friendly. I agree they don't feel as good to hold and are a little more flimsy but they are likely here to stay. you said " wastes less plastic in the manufacturing process so they are a bit more eco friendly" but that is not the case with the eco dvd cases. i have had several movies that i bought thet were eco friendly and the space that was supposed to have no plastic had plastic.....they are not molded without the plastic...the plastic is cut out later to look eco freindly. but maybe they remelt the stuff they cut out? but still they are using more energy by moving all this cut out plastic and remelting it or worse...thowing it away. this "eco" stuff is a load of crap. I guarantee you they reuse the plastic that is cut cut out. Manufactures will do anything possibly to save money so there is zero chance they are just throwing it out and not recycling it. As for it being a load of crap, could very well be but I doubt it. Why? Because I've yet to see one of these types of packages that advertised that it was more eco friendly. If they aren't showing that off to customers to help sell the product then they aren't doing it to appear more environmentally responsible. They wouldn't even bother making them unless it made them money or benefited them in some way be it through reduced cost in materials, good PR, attracting environmentally conscious consumers, or something else I can't think of. Manufactures won't do anything unless it helps their bottom end in some way.

  9. You know the thought has crossed my mind as I'm going to eventually get a Jag CD, thing is that might be a long time from now(being out of work sucks!) which is why I'm looking to possibly trade if anyone has a game that interests me. That is tempting, but I'm not going to make an decisions till it arrives. Any other games? I'd love a platformer like Zool 2 or Pitfall. Syndicate is another game I think looks interesting.
  10. So I just won a copy of Baldies for the Jaguar CD on ebay. Was reading reviews of games looking for ones I might like and after reading a few reviews and watching a couple videos decided I'd give Baldies a try as it looked fun. Well stupid me, I some how completely missed in everything I read about it that its not a cartridge based game. Luckily I didn't spend a lot on it so no real harm done, and plus I got Iron Soldier from the same seller along with it also new for quite cheap with discounted shipping. So anyway would any body be interested in trading a CIB cartridge game for a new sealed copy of Baldies? If so let me know what you've got and when my copy of Baldies arrives we can trade if your interested. I'll also post photos of the games box when it arrives so you can see the condition its in.
  11. Damn I wish I'd ventured into this section of the site before ordering a Jag yesterday! $250 would be pushing what I'd have been willing to spend but I'd probably have taken it off your hands for that with all the games you are including. Any chance you'd be willing to part out the collection a bit?

  13. Are Jaguar games region locked? Would a PAL cart work on a US Jag?
  14. If you don't already have it do yourself a favor and get Episode 1 Racer if you like racing games. I think its one of the best ones ever made for the N64.
  15. So I sent my order for my Jag to Best Electronics this morning. Does anyone know of any sites were I can find games for the system, aside from the obvious answer of ebay and Best Electronics(their prices seem a little high)? I'm thinking so far I'm definately going to get Zool 2 as one of my first games and possibly Attack of The Mutant Penguins and if I can find a copy in my price range I definitely want to get Doom, AvP or Wolfenstein.
  16. Be extremely careful with the game shark. I'd recommend only using it on games with no internal memory. My little brother bricked several of our games with one when he was a kid. Don't know if replacing the internal batteries would fix(killing the memory and possibly the problem?) them but they just flat out refuse to start after he saved his game while using cheats. Games I'd recommend, StarFox 64, Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Star Wars Episode 1 Racer, Shadows of the Empire, Golden Eye.
  17. Just received my brand new sealed copies of Toki, Shadow of the Beast, Klax, Todd's Adventure in Slimeworld and Viking Child. Tonight is going to be fun!
  18. Here area few from the various consoles I own or have access to or have played in the past that I like. NES - Marble Madness, Mario 1 2 3, Zelda II SNES - Donkey Kong Country, StarFox, Super Star Wars, Secret of Mana Super Bomberman, Mega Man X, Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past N64 - Duke Nukem 64, Extreme-g, Super Mario 64 Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask Sega Genesis - Sonic series, Vector Man Sega Saturn - Astal, Gex I like side scrolling platformers quite a bit. I also love games that allow for exploration and that have puzzle elements such as the Zelda Series. But I like a mix of stuff and am open to new types of games. Thats crazy I didn't think there would be any stores that would still have anything Jaguar related. I could see how it could happen if it was dead stock or something though. I used to work at Toys R Us and once game across a box of original Alien action figures. Tempest is definately a game I want to get, it looks like a lot of fun. Same with Wolfenstein. Not familiar with the rest I'll have ot look them up. Glad to know 2 of the games I'm looking at are good. I'm not too worried about which has the best sound so long as it is a solid game. Besides I don't own a Sega CD or Genesis and don't plan on buying one for a while, after I get my Jag I'm going to focus on the consoles I have, I'd got plenty atm. Iron Soldier looks interesting from videos on youtube, I may look into that one. Yeah I'm actually watching a copy of AvP and its already pretty close to the max I'd feel comfortable paying for a game atm but I'm going to definately get it at some point. Whats MGC? Jagfest seems self explanatory. lol
  19. LMAO I remember that game, thats the one where you play as the 7-Up mascot right?
  20. I can't make out anything but the Mario game and the two DKC games. The two DKC games are a great find, they are fantastic games! Me and my little bro have sunk countless hours into the first two, the 3rd is on my list of things to get in the future.
  21. CIB is nice but for me isn't to big of a deal unless its a disk game or a small cartridge like those for the Lynx. Most of my carts are loose and on display, in fact the only CIB cartridge game I have that is not for a hand held is my copy of Secret of Mana. One game I'm looking at is Attack of the Mutant Penguins. Despite his best efforts The Angry Video Game Nerd made it look interesting when he reviewed the Jag awhile back. Was also thinking maybe the Pitfall game that was released for it or maybe Zool 2.
  22. So I've been wanting to get an Atari Jaguar for quite some time and am planning on buying a new one off of Best-electronics.ca as soon as some stuff sells on ebay. Can anyone tell me any good games that can be had relatively cheap for it?
  23. I didn't think so but it never hurts to ask. I've only ever seen 1 jaguar cart and system in the wild and that was a beat up copy of cybermorph and an equally beat up console being sold by a guy who was bat shit crazy and wanted $800 for it.
  24. Mhm. Music, movies and video games (new and old). We price our saturn games fairly cheap, and I'd be glad to hook you up if we have anything you're looking for (employees get some hefty discounts ). But to be honest I can't remember which games we have, I'll remember to check next time I'm working. somehow my funky clipping of the conversation messed up who said what Thanks a bunch that would be awesome! I don't have any titles in mind that I'm looking for at the moment. Actually my current focus is looking into buying an Atari Jaguar, something I've wanted a long time. I'm thinking of buying a new in box one off best electronics as soon as the items I'm selling on ebay sell. One of the lego set I'm selling currently and my old pair of nike pushead dunks are close to paying for the Jag entirely by themselves. Any chance your store ever gets Jaguar games in? Anyway if its not to much trouble and you get the chance I'd definitely appreciate you letting me know what your store has to see if anything catches my eye. Oh ok. I looked up a guide on installing the mod and on a round button it still looks plenty difficult to me with my limited soldering experience so I won't lose any sleep over the Saturn I've got. haha Though the ability to burn games is very tempting, might have to look into that sometime and buy a round button.
  25. Exactly why I said loosely. The game takes quite a few elements from the book; the wish granter(though its completely different in its form in the book and game), the deadly spacial anomalies, mysterious artifacts(one of which looks quite close to one described in the book), sneaking into a military restricted area to loot said artifacts, zombified people(dead brought back to lift in book, fried brains in game), and I'm sure there are more but its been a while since I've read or played either.
