Bought Mega Man Anniversary Edition on Saturday...
Invader_dag replied to Room 34's topic in Modern Console Discussion
i could have sworn that the power battles or whatever the first one was was three player... oh well, two is still good. I just got this yester day for GC and i got a little ways into MM4, half way into MM6 and at Wily in MM7. The button switch does take awhile to get used to, my brother disgusted by the change after i told him, and he started thinking back to try and remember a game that used A for fire. I think he came up with one... -

MM8 - PS1/SS, MM7-SNES. If anyone has unlocked the arcade games, are they three player like they originally were? -
X-Com is one of my favorite games of all time for sure. But Apocalyps, X-Com 3, in my opinion was the best. You have the choice to do battle in real time or turnbased, and the whole economy and political sides of the game are taken much farther than anything before it. And instead of aliens from space, they are from another dimension, and that adds alot to the game believe it or not. Terror From the Deep, X-Com 2, was my least favorite, mostly because it was very very very very difficult, and they made no improvements on the first, even thought the first was great, they could have done somethings to make it better. The same team that made X-Com did an old VGA game called Laser Squad. I have never been able to play it, but last time i checked www.the-underdogs.org that it for a free download. I'll look for a link for the teams new game that they are continously updating called Laser Squad Nemesis, which has 4 different sides you can play as, Human, Machina(the robotic side... i guess the name kind of says it), Spawn(Much like the aliens in Apocalypse), and the Greys(Same as the sectoids in X-Com. It doesn't have the research aspect, but you can play via e-mail or hot seat with other people. Basically a multiplayer X-com, finally. There was one more game that a different team produced that they were trying to sell to Microprose as a new X-Com, but they were turned down, but still released the game under a different name, and i hear it was pretty good, i`ll try to find it. There was also a game recently a couple years ago that was alot like Ufo Defense, and i heard that it was just as good, i`ll try to find that too. Anyway, X-Com was a great series, one of my all time favorites

no, Awakening was all nintendo. have you noticed how often in the past few years Nintendo has called in help with games? i think it's great cause they aren't selling the license but are still bringing in new creative ideas
-
it isn`t like Capcom is controlling the direction the game is going in, it`s merely a joint effort that they did with the oracle games, and the four swords/link to the past game. Nintendo isn`t stepping back either, if you noticed, Square helped with Mario RPG, yet it still was a great game, and it was obvious how much Nintendo had to do with the developement of the game.

I would have to say nay, just due to all the reviews i`ve seen for it. had it come along a year or so after CS first became popular, then it would have been an improvement, as it stands now, it`s no more than an attempt to cash in on HL before HL2 comes out. And the singleplayer modes don't seem all that great, and thats just about the only new feature. I saw for a true counter terrorist/terrorist experiance, Rainbow Six Raven Shield is the best out there, and just a great game all around. I also have never seen what was so great about CS anyways, so maybe it's just me

just how do you get that rebate? i have 2003, and wan`t going to pick up 04 until it came down alot, but for $20 i think i can handle it. and is Unreal 2 with XMP any good?
-
oh man! that is the greatest unknown game ever! I first played it on a demo disc from OPM, then looked everyone online for a copy. I wish there was some shot at a sequel, but i don`t think there will be. check out the Team Buddies board at GameFaqs, there is a small fanbase that has developed.

ohhhh man, that makes me wish octorocks and moblins really existed....

I would like to get a arcade machine, preferibly a multi-game machine, and i would like to know how much they typically run for a good condition machine? Something like Ms. Pac-Man or Galaga, or even something newer like a capcom fighter. Thanks in advance!

i got 100% completion rate and am starting the original metroid now. I really really really hope that they make a Super Metroid port and a remake of Return of Samus, i can hear the music for Brinstar already...

KB/Kay Bee Toys going out of buisness
Invader_dag replied to Invader_dag's topic in Modern Console Discussion
the ones in my area have always had awful costumer service. But i guess that is just my area. I also really appreciate you guys not flaming me for reposting an old article. Some boards i`ve been around get a little too into it and forget to actually act decent to other people. Anyways, I think i'm going bak to pick up a couple more games, anyone have any the would reccomend? -
i mean a remake in the same sense that Zelda GBA and Super Mario Advance 2 and 3 are remakes. I sure hope Mario Advance 1 and 2 are wolrd and yoshi island, cause that's what i`m refering to

KB/Kay Bee Toys going out of buisness
Invader_dag replied to Invader_dag's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I KNEW i heard it somewhere! but i went through the recent topics in modern gaming where i though i may had seen it and didn`t find anything. Oh well, sorry for repeating old news! -
Not a huge loss in my opinion, but they are having some awesome sales where i`m at. I don`t know what the parent company is, if it`s something like gamestop/funcoland/software etc., but i guess everyone knows of Kay Bee/KB. I guess they jump around with the spelling on it cause there are two in my area, one named KB and the other Kay Bee. Anywho, they had 20-40% on everything in the stores in my area, so i picked up two SPs, platinum and onyx, Mario and Luigi: Super Star Saga, Zelda: Link to the Past, Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland, and MegaMan Zero 2. I was going to get Donkey Kong Country, Final Fantasy Tatics Advance, and Sword of Mana but didn't have enough cash. So i made out with two SP's both for $80, Mario and Luigi for $28, and the rest of the games for $24. I just happened to walk by the store just before i left to go to another mall to get an SP from Software Etc., and the saw the huge sign stating everything was on sale, and after the guy at the counter told me that GBA's weren`t on sale, the manager walked by and informed him they were. I guess i made out pretty good, eh? So if you need any new games, you deffiantly want to check this place out. I think they are closing nationwide was the last i heard. I may be going back to snag the other few games.

I just cleaned KB Toys out, got me a brand new SP and a few games. All ready for this baby!! I've been playing fusion to get me in the mood again. I look forward to having a portable version of the ORIGINAL Metroid even if there are a couple flaws(the slow down and changed screen resolution, if it's not something to do with the demo cart or anything like that... Though screen resolution wouldn`t be different... or whatever). And the actual Zero Mission game looks awesome!! I heard there are some pretty cool happenings in it. As of yet, Metroid is the only game i haven`t finished in the series. Here's hoping for a Super Metorid and/or Return of Samus remake. And a whole new Metroid game...

Beyond Good and Evil... Worth getting?
Invader_dag replied to Invader_dag's topic in Modern Console Discussion
coolness, i think i`ll pick it up this weekend. good idea about the Best Buy giftcard too! I would buy it in a second from you RC, but i only have a cube... thanks everyone! -
you can get a copy for $40 on walmart.com, or $30 on half, comes out to about $34 with shipping. I didn't feel right paying $50, but did anyways. It's one of the few games out currently that is worth the $50

kind of funny that i took a several month long hiatus from these boards only to make two topics in one night. Anywho, i've heard tons of great stuff about BG&E, but what i want to know is what it's like...?i heard it's like zelda from somewhere, but not sure if i'm gettin games confused. So, it's $20 now, so it won't make that big of a difference, but just so i'm prepared, if anyone can tell me what to expect, i would really appreciate it. And also, how's Prince of Persia? worth the current price or should i wait for it to go down? i don't want to make a whole other topic, so i m consolidating.

Since i got a steady source of income i`ve been buying ALOT of games. mostly FPS since i`ve gotten into playing online now. I got BF1942 a few weeks ago, which it is excellent and all, but parts annoyed me(can`t use joystick for control of aircraft). But it got me interested in WWII shooters again. I played medal of honor and underground on PSX and thought they were really good, and thought Allied Assualt was very good too. But Call of Duty has to be the best WWII themed game i've ever played. It's the Halo of real world shooters. being able to through yourself on the ground when fire from some MG42's flies past your head, or when an enemy takes a couple hits but refuses to fall, thus calling for a swift blow from the butt of your rifle, or when a german tiger tank rolls up and then starts to mow down your allies as you scramble to grab a panzerfaust is really just something to be experianced. I played through the first campaign tonight, and started some of the british campaign that follows. My hands were literally almost shaking due to the adrenaline burst this game causes. There are a couple demo's out for it currently, which are a couple of the best levels. If you have played and liked MOH(in any incarnation) or BF42(and are ok with not having as much versatility with vehicles), then this is a great game for you
-
oh ok, i thought you had to pick. This would make sense seeing as how i have yet to lose contact with either side and am about 3 hours in
-
Thanks! it worked and i`m about to decide who to join. This game is awesome, except for that gang of thugs that shoot me every time i try to use my multi-tool on that locked box.
-
just leaving the Tarsus building, supposed to be headed for upper seatle. I don`t mind replaying, i just want it to work next time. i`ll try loading to my previous save
-
i love this game, but i can`t play it. For some reason it freezes now whenever i try to save or move to a new area. Nothing on the tech forums has helped. really bugs me cause i was addicted to it and then his happened
-
Man, i have got to get this game. though seeing as i just got Unreal 2003 and Deus Ex:IW, and Raven Shield, Tron 2.0 and the original Deus Ex, i`m kind of FPS'ed out right now. Is XIII pretty long? And by the way, i like your sig Foxy, my brother and I listen to Gabriel all the time
