Beast my puppy is 19 now and is really fading and I have a Cockatiel thats 15 with inoperable thyroid cancer. My kittens are old now too 2 are 13 and one is 11, it really sucks. I've worked with animal rescue groups over the years and could probably have bought 2-3 brand new cars with what vet bills have cost, but when a helpless creature needs your help, it's what you do. And yes, regardless of an animals health if it needed a home and I was able to care for it, I would do it again and most likely will when I am able to. Pidgey wasn't in pain per say and she was a loving little creature till she died, cuddling up to the vet even as she was gasping for air. I couldn't have put her in better hands and know she was taken care of like I would have taken care of her myself. I now have an empty 5 ft. by 4 ft. cage downstairs and a little cockatiel that has been crying all night since she was bonded with the Grey. I miss the sounds Pidgey made in the morning and all her talking all day or waving hi and giving me kisses or cuddlung up under my chin saying "whisper whisper kiss kiss". We do what we can and thats all we can do. Animals can teach a lot of people about unconditional love and trust. They can't help but be what they are and its more difficult because of not being able to communicate with them as easily. If only humans were half as lovable as our companions then the world would be a far nicer place. *Huggz* to all.

I got the phone call we didn't want and I'm talking to the vet now - she didn't make it. Thank you guys for trying. She was my baby bird and I am heartbroken. Cebus, I appreciate what you did more then I can tell you. She's an amazing vet and I was talking to her about what I can get her that would help at her hospital as a thank you for everything she's done since 2001 for me and my kids and we were talking shop as far as birds and animals in general go. She's had a poor Rottweiler in there since last year that broke it's leg, the owners had dumped, she operated and it was placed out with a rescue and those second owners tied outside and it rebroke it's plate and leg and was reoperated on and is living there till they can find it a permanent home themselves to make sure the animal is in the best place possible. That's the kind of woman she is- cares about the animal itself and does the best she can. I have so much respect for her as a person and as a vet.

If anyone is interested here's the vet where she is right now - http://www.bucksvets.com/vets/. My dad paid the bill I owe there, so I owe my dad and of course wherever she goes next... My dad loves the bird and is much of a sucker for animals as I am so, it's just a matter of what happens next. Exotics usually cost more on a standard flat rate scale but as far as diagnostics run the same price as a dog or cat. Tomorrow I have to find a vet who will take her, though Dr. J already called 4 places tonight alone even before I could ask and worry. If no one can hospitalize her, she will go for full blood and fecal workup since with the holiday that will put the results a bit longer and I'll feed her round the clock if needed. Been there done that with animals and of course with my daughter most importantly since she was a preemie and needed to be fed every 2 hours. Now, it's time for me to take care of myself, take my meds, try to eat, and sleep for a few so I don't get worse since I still have the stupid infection from a month ago. Tomorrow I'll post pics of what I can get together to fund the tests and might as well post that in this thread.

Just got off the phone with Dr. J (as she's called). She and the techs have been syringe feeding Pidgey stage 2 fruit and veggie baby food over the last 3 hrs and she's still hanging in there. I'm so sorry about your baby kitty bigg but I know what you mean about the tests. You're in my thoughst as well. This vet who is taking care of her came in on her "time off" because she heard it was my bird. I hadn't had an animal emergency in 2 yrs but Dr. remembered Pidgey from a broken blood feather several yrs ago. I have seen this vet operate probono to save animals and she always has stray kittens for adoption. She's one of those rare people that loves to care for creatures first and worries about the money later in many cases. She pioneered supporting aquatic rehab and therapy for dogs in our area and has saved Beasty my Puppy when 2 other vets couldn't. As long as someone is willing to do everything they can and pay for the often expensive procedures, as long as it is in the animal's best interests shewill do everything she can literally to take care of that creature whether it'sa mouse, cat, reptile, dog, bird, doesn't matter - she will take care of all of them and like they were her own.

The bird was bought but as a rescue from an abusive situation.I considered very carefully before I took her on because I knew she'd be a lifetime commitment - more so technically then a child because after 18 yrs she won't be a legal adult and will always be dependant on me. I don't know whether to kiss you Cebus or kick your behind, I'll have to leave it to your wife to do both however. AFA Brandon goes, kids will be kids and I am just glad no one has put me down for my degenerative painful health conditions. With birds you have both short term and long term things to consider because with any creature dehydration can cause organ failure kidneys and liver being most prevalent with birds. The next week if she survives, but most so the next few days/72 hrs will be most critical. Her health was poor to begin with when I rescued her as a baby so I was hoping at best for 30-40 yrs. Time will tell. Unfortunately right now, all I can do is wait. I've got my own Upper resp infection and making sure my daughter is healthy plus helping my cousin who is pregnant in the uk to deal with as well as my dad who is having a very rough time. All we can do is the best we can, with everything we have - which is right now what I am doing. I know I am far from perfect, we all are and we'll make mistakes. Hindsight is always 20/20. *Huggz* and I should have said this before but I'm stunned Cebus and I can't thank you enough for you and everyone's generosity.
-
OMG Cebus, you shouldn't. I can't let you do this. Everyone on this site has done so much for me already. Brandon, kiss off and research something before you open your trap. That's the nicest way I can put it. Please don't sell anything on my behalf esp your collection. She's gotta pull through before I worry about bills. My dad put the ER vet's on his charge and I've got some stuff to sell. So far the vet's initial costs are paid and she' literally at the best vet imo that she could be at who has saved animals that many wouldn't have given a second glance to. I'm doing the best I can with her which unfortunately is to put her care in another's hands. I've had birds for more then 20 years and have an extensive resume in animal care and behaviour. Plus anyone who knows me knows that I value life and quality of life more then a pocketbook. I believe because they can't care for themselves it is our responsibility to do the best we can for them.

game collection management software?
Chickybaby replied to kemmer's topic in Classic Console Discussion
IMO why I use it as well. While it's not perfect, and has it's quirks especially when getting used to it at first, I really love it. Standard CSV file with reports in HTML. When you have lots of systems it's much nicer to go down a list of titles and checkmark boxes then typing everything by hand imo, for those whose lists are available. It's easy to use with computers with old computers and different OS's, easy to transfer to different computers and back up, Nice to keep everything in order for anyone who might be particular about those things like I am, can have each system next to each other tab by tab with their own lists, can modify and choose which values you want to sort by as well as adding notes, plus I use it for DVDs as well. You can Track 25 attributes for Media and 20 attributes for Hardware with Over 100 Platforms supported. Plus, you can compare 2 lists for the Same system of different people side by side as well as keeping trade bait available seperate for each system if someone wants to update inventory and has a lot of it. I didn't think about it till now but it could also be used to track what system EMUs are on what Computers/games on MAME cabs as well. It's quite versatile but I also have a lot of years invested into it. Yay, So Nice to know someone else who uses it as well finally! I have been using it since it was first released as well but don't like to say we're showing our age as far as how long we've been collecting/playing, lol. For anyone interested/curious too lazy to search, lol - http://www.arcaderestoration.com/index.asp?OPT=3&CBT=20 'Updated' Added Master Lists - http://www.arcaderestoration.com/index.asp?OPT=10&DATA=10&CBT=20 Screen Shots - http://www.arcaderestoration.com/index.asp?OPT=12&DATA=10&CBT=20 wow finally someone else who still uses the CC, ive been using it since Brien made the thing here is my most recent chart from the CC 10-30-09 the only reason im sticking with it is because i dread typing all that into anything else and no way will i ever use an online website to store all that -

My Last Original 1983 GAMMA-ATTACK on EBAY Again
Chickybaby replied to gamecrawler's topic in Auction Central
I do not understand the undertones, undercurrents, or even am privvy to any secretive information. I just ask that everyone please remain respectful while questions are cleared up. At this point from what I know by reading this thread I wouldnt want to see winner of the auction feel that their item was misrepresented or misinterpreted in any way nor do I like seeing any individual maligned or criticized without the information being common public knowledge. I also don't want to see a seller, someone who is from appearances new to the ins and outs of classic game collecting be confused or unsure as to the proper terminology. Sir./gamecrawler, whether it was politely worded or not, there is a question of when the chip was burned/board soldered/cart assembled for the specific cart that is being auctioned from what I can tell. Also, there seems to be a question whether you were the original holder of the specific parts for the cart being auctioned or where these parts originated from if you were not. (It reminds me of what I have dealt with in collecting classic automobiles in a way, but I digress.) To some this does not matter as long as all parts are original, and to others, this matters greatly. If you could be so kind as to post this information it would be greatly appreciated and I suspect also would clear up many questions as well as more importantly reflect on your final value of the auction, especially as some of the questions were brought from individuals I would consider possible serious bidders. Thank you and have a good day all. -

Enough AA members have met me in person, lol,I've given enough hugs, worked at enough vid game shows at the AA booth, and PacManPlus is my daughter's Godfather. I think it' safe to say that yes, I'm female and have a daughter. All the profit I made went to take care of my daughter so I think she'll know that I'm doing everything I can for her and hopefully have enough sense of humour to laugh. Sheesh. -

Not all copies have been paid for yet besides the 2 that are going to auction. The supplies and parts are ordered or on their way and I will update when it ships. Btw for anyone curious the answer would be "Striped", as anyone who has seen the pictures I posted on here would know. -
Because he spends what little free time he has using his intellect and working hard - quite unselfishly, for others. Also why he doesn't always get a chance to post that much more often then not and when he does post it's related to coding and his work. We are very lucky to have members like him in our community!

Minux, as every human being has their own perspective, opinions will always be varied. No person will be exactly right becase each of us sees things differenty. You have your opinion and we respect that but it doesn't make anyone else's opinion less correct from their point of view. Thank you.

There have also been s number of various classic gaming shows in PA and OH.

Wow, that many views?! I hadn't even looked, lmao. Thanks for the support though. I figure half the time reg underwear/knickers end up in the crack of a females butt especially chasing after toddler so I might as well make them fundarwear and put the string/floss(which is thinner) there to begin with, lmao! It also is more comfortable with more form fitting clothes and they look nicer especially the pencil skirts and slim jeans which are in style still (I think). (just wanted to help you guys out with wives or gf's who won't wear them - it's fairly reasonable and rational logic ) Butt maybe I'm being too much of a CheekyBaby with the twist this thread is taking. -
